***Pricey, Small Serving, Delicious***Great service! The food was quite delicious, but expect to be paying a high price for a small amount.

Went to see the vessel and stopped by the mall where Kamasu was at. After looking at directory, I decided to get food from here as it seemed most appealing to me. I ordered to go as I thought my friend wouldn't be getting food. There is a separate little window to order to go from. We both ended up getting food. There was not many people in the restaurant, so I checked if we could just get our order for dine in. The server was friendly and showed us to a table. My phone battery was dead at this point and mentioned I needed to charge. Server offered to charge it for me which was very kind. Service was definitely 5/5. Several seatings available and quite aesthetic place. Now for the food: I got the kanpachi don. It was satisfying, however i feel that more tartare would be better.Great quality fish tho and the sauce paired very well.

I was craving sushi one day while at work and instead of ordering from my go-to place I decided to try Kamasu by Kissaki. Now let me reiterate that I have had takeout from here twice, I've never dined in the restaurant. I'm not sure how different it is out but I will say I don't think the food is worth the amount of money that they charge. For almost $40 you can get a lunch *special* with 4 nigiri plus a teeny-tiny 6 piece maki roll with a teeny-tiny miso soup. Look, I am as big a fan of pretentious sushi as the next person but this is just a little too much for amount of food and the price point, especially for lunch. Also it really makes me upset is that they always forget something like last time they forgot my gari (ginger). For a $40 lunch I expect more. Oh and last time they completely forgot my order and I had to wait another 15 minutes which totally negates the point of ordering it ahead of time so I can pick it up and go back to my desk. All in all if you want really good sushi (and you're paying for it out of your own pocket) I would suggest going somewhere else. Stay clear of Hudson yards... I hate it here.

We were at Hudson Yards and got hungry and walked in here as there were quite some seats available on a weekend for lunch. Service was very friendly and the lady helping us was great.Food itself was alright though definitely the portion for the price point left me a bit wanting more. We got the Eel and Salmon Don and a roll to share. While the taste was fine, I did hope for more even though it was indeed a lunch menu. The place itself is quite cute and well designed. It's clean and modern and welcoming overall.

This spot is great for a date night or just to satisfy your sushi cravings! I don't get temaki (handrolls) often, but when I do, I love places like this that have specific sets. The chefs were very kind and I had really enjoyed my meal there. I had the 5 temaki set with a miso soup, salmon and tuna roll, nori ice cream, and decided to add on a toro handroll! I could've eaten more but what's great about omakase is how the timing of the next item will allow the food to digest and you'll end up fuller than you assumed! Or at least, not too full! Starting with the salmon and tuna roll, I thought the salmon was better than the tuna to be honest. There was something brighter about it and the cream cheese had made it more flavorful. The tuna did just seem like a typical tuna roll in my opinion. The 5 temaki set included: Fluke, Kanpachi, Sake, Akami, and Ebi. I enjoyed all of these but 2 in particular stood out to me: Akami and Ebi. The Akami consisted of lean bluefish tuna, roasted almonds and shittake. I really loved the smokiness of the mushrooms and almonds. Those aren't ingredients I usually come across when I have sushi, so it was a really pleasant and creative taste in my opinion! I love finding hidden gems like these in each place I visit. However, my absolute favorite of this entire dinner had to be their seaweed ice cream sandwich. After chatting with the chef, I got to learn about how this recipe sort of came about and how they learned it. You have your black sesame ice cream inside these two fried pieces of seaweed and it's like magic in your mouth. Very honestly, I'd come back specifically for this ice cream. You could tell the seaweed wasn't deep fried because it didn't have blisters like normal fried seaweed would. They were still so thin and even and had such a nice crunch and saltiness to it that complimented and was complimented by the sesame. I could've eaten those seaweed crisps on their own like snacks. Definitely a place to stop by or make reservations to if you're shopping at Hudson Yards! Can't wait to come back to have the ice cream and handrolls again!

Our Monday night dinner at Kamasu was great! After shopping, we stopped by without a reservation. We started with a selection of appetizers, including the tempura shrimp and spicy tuna tartare. Both were greatly presented and packed with flavor. For our main course, we got the five hand rolls. The service matched the high quality of the food--attentive, friendly, and efficient.Kamasu is a gem for sushi lovers and anyone looking for an exquisite Japanese culinary experience. We'll definitely return, eager to explore more of their creative menu!

The restaurant was relatively empty on a weekday during lunch time. The restaurant was clean and the service was quick. I sat at the counter and had the set of 4 temaki which is served with miso soup. The set came with fluke, kanpachi yellowtail, salmon, and akami tuna. Everything tasted fresh and I enjoyed the flavors of each bite. Overall the food was good, but the temaki were on the smaller side and expensive for what it was.

This tuna is not quality and I will not be back. There was bones in the ground up tuna and the tuna had a strong fishy flavor as it clearly wasn't fresh. Avoid this tourist trap!

Conveniently located inside Hudson yards, this small but cozy restaurant serves temaki sets, donburi bowls, Maki, and so much more. Service is friendly and the place is very clean. We arrived for lunch after attending the New York Auto show. There were no tables available, so we were seated at the bar. We ordered the set of 5 temaki sets which came with fluke, yellowtail, salmon, bluefin tuna, and torched shrimp. They were all nicely presented and quite tasty. Not quite as fresh and flavorful as other restaurants I've been to but worth a try. Overall, if you want something quick and fun, this is a great place. It won't leave you feeling full but that's ok. Just expect wit of you go on the weekends as it is quite small.

Service is awful! We were waiting at the entrance almost 10 min, employees saw us and no one invited us until I start to call someone. They were not crowded, bar seats were empty. Food is also came not fast. Usually miso soup comes first cause it's already done and ready to serve, but we had to wait it as well. Interior is beautiful, but I don't think I'd come back here after today's experience. The case when incompetent employees kill your business.
