As a frequenter of omakase, this place was such a great experience. They do a good job being different while still sticking to the traditional omakase way. Went here on a Saturday evening with some friends with a reservation. We stopped by a liquor store nearby to pick up sake. Upon entering, you could hang your coat on a coat rack, hang your bags under the table where you sit, and the seats were kinda close together but still comfortable. I handed the bag of sake to one of the servers and they were kind enough to start pouring. They did a GREAT job and keeping it flowing prior to the omakase getting served hahaWe got the 15 course with the starter as a delicious soup to warm the body which hit the spot. All the pieces were so excellent but ones to highlight are the black cod, Hokkaido scallop, fatty tuna with ONI ON TOP, fatty tuna with caviar, and Wagyu a5 beef with foie grae on top (THE ENDER).

An affordable spot for omakase featuring unique appetizers and fresh nigiri -- I really enjoyed my experience here, would totally come back for the $75 for 15 courses. I loved that there was a good mix of raw fish and torched bites. It had a mix of more traditional nigiri and fun bites. The chef was really great and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

$75 for a 15-course omakase in NYC is a steal. And what's more, this place is BYOB (with no corkage fee!).The person next to us was a frequent diner and we can see why - we would be too if we lived nearby. Excellent casual option if you're craving sushi. Chef was such a nice guy as well! 5/5

We came here for my friends birthday and it was a lot of fun! We did the omakase experience that included unlimited sake. The sake options were really good and overall, the sushi was fresh and had great flavor. It's a smaller store so feels more intimate.

Great price point but nothing amazing. Love that it's byob! Sushi here is solid for a casual night out but nothing to run back to. As far as service they have that down!

For the month of August they had a $55 special for omakase so I decided to come and give it a try. Came for a birthday and they were more than accommodating. There wasn't as much interaction as omakase usually goes with the chef but everyone was also given complementary sake. The cuts of the fish were definitely on the thicker side so the rice to fish ratio felt a little off but the fish was fresh. The matcha flan given at the end was so good as well not too sweet. The restaurant is medium size with a sushi bar and a few tables. The seats were definitely a little close together but enough.

My partner and I decided to give Kaki a try as we were in the mood to try a new Omekase spot and it looked like a great value... $75 for 15 courses and sake included (also BYOB - which many folks took advantage of). The space itself has the suchi bar + some additional tables (if you can get a seat at the bar - do it). I do not want to spoil all of the fun with detailing the courses, but overall, it was some of the thicker cuts of fish we've had from an omekase experience - all fresh and paired really well with light sauces and accoutaments (there was a Spanish Mackerel with roasted garlic that was divine). We even ended up ordering the eel a la carte (which you couldn't go wrong with anything on that menu). The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and fast - always ensuring our water and sake glasses were full. The one area of improvement Id recommend is the rice - it was inconsistent and potentially could've used more vinegar. Either way, the fish was definitely the star in each course! We left feeling full and satisfied, and would definitely return in the future!

Kaki had a great vibe. We brought two bottles since they were BYOB. The staff was very friendly and even put our bottle in the fridge. They explained everything very thoroughly and checked in on us many times. I thought the food could be better quality but for the price point it was a good omakase spot.

Wow. Kaki is what you'd imagine an omakase would be like in Japan. 15 course for $75. The most interactive omakase I've ever been to. Fish were tender and fresh but the vibe is why I would come back again. The chefs were super nice. The waitress poured us rounds after rounds of FREE sake. Not sure if it's something they do all the time but my friend and I went at 6:30pm and there were only 6 of us total at the restaurant. She brought out 3 different alcoholic drinks and was constantly refilling everyone's sake cup! We also took shots with the waitress and chef (very common in Japan) a must try in NYC13/10 experience. Wow.

I came here with my friend on a Wednesday night. Neither of us had ever had omakase before, but we had been recommended to come here and try it.We had about 15 courses, mostly sushi. We really enjoyed everything; my favorite was the scallop sushi with truffle. The chefs make everything right in front of you and tell you what each piece is as it's served. The restaurant is BYOB, but we did try their house sake and it was wonderful. Our only complaint was that we felt it was a bit rushed. We were in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes, which for a multi-course dinner like this, felt a bit fast.
