Jurin Sushi in NYC is a hidden gem that you don't want to miss! This hole-in-the-wall spot is a low-key venue serving up delicious sushi for both lunch and dinner, including an omakase option. It's a very small place, and you have to go up to the second floor to find it, but it's well worth the effort. We ordered a few of their rolls, including the Jurin Omakase Box, Jurin Premium Box, and Pepper Tuna Tataki. At first, I was hesitant due to the location and how small it was, but the great service and even better-tasting food quickly won me over. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.I will definitely visit again next time I am in the NYC area. Jurin Sushi is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality sushi in an intimate and unpretentious setting.

We've gotten takeout here a few times and every time just HITS. Super fresh, high quality fish and incredible value for the price. Their decor is minimal and space is small but you can tell they spend most of their budget on high quality fish bc the sushi is always great. Staff is super warm and friendly. This is our go to spot whenever we're craving sushi. HIGHLY recommend

Clean and small inside, manned by a two-person staff, Jurin is an unpretentious place to grab a fresh bite when you need to eat in a hurry. I missed it the first time I passed it. They have a door on 36th Street that looks anonymous, and their storefront is actually up on the second floor. I emerged from the staircase to find 6 bar height stools and two round tables capable of seating three people each. Definitely keeping it casual. The omakase was elegantly presented in a wood-effect case and looked very pretty. The miso soup was perfect, imo - just underseasoned, and served piping hot. Was the sushi perfect? No, not really - I wish it'd been more satisfying - but it more than did the job. Definitely a place to bring people who know you well, and not people who you're trying to date.

I got a delivery order of a 10 piece "Nigiri Tasting" sushi set with miso soup. It was quite good. The sushi was fresh and had a lot of variety compared to your typical sushi delivery options. This might not be one of the top Omakase sushi restaurants, but it was quite acceptable. Some might say that delivery sushi is a sin, akin to grocery store sushi, but I beg to disagree. Better delivery options are starting to show up around town, even from some of the best places. Now, I know, the sushi "experts" ?snobs, say sushi must be eaten at a certain temperature, within a certain amount of time after preparation, etc., but that can't always happen for everyone, every time!Delivery was fast. Presentation and packing was excellent. Not bad, at all...recommended!

Probably closer to 3.5 stars. I thought the food left a bit to be desired. The toro was a little I dunno, funky, which left a literal and metaphorical bad taste in my mouth. The botan who were delish and so was the uni. Everything else was just a littttle off though, I wish I could explain it better. While I wouldn't say to steer clear per se, (esp because this is all I've tried from Jurin) I also feel like there are other options in the area that are a bit superior quality for the price.

What a great hole in the wall! There are only two small round tables inside that seat 3 people each, and there is no alcohol, but it's a great, no frills sushi spot with very reasonable prices. What a great addition to the neighborhood!

We got the takeout omakase lunch from this spot and were overall pretty impressed. The location itself was a bit hidden but once inside the ambiance was quite nice. The box set itself was packaged well and didn't feel cheap at all. The fish quality wasn't quite what you'd get at a sit down omakase imo, but much better than the traditional lunch sushi in midtown. It's not cheap so not an every week sort of meal, but we will be back for sure.

The quality of fish here is incredible! They offer a $40 omakase box that has 10 pieces of fresh nigiri and it all tasted really good and high quality. They also sell regular rolls like a Spicy Salmon Roll and Spicy Scallop Roll, which I ordered. The chef was quick to make the food and they packaged it nearly. It's a hidden gem located on the second floor of a building in Midtown, but there's a few seats, mainly for 1 or 2 people to sit. It's a small cute interior and definitely more of a takeout spot. However, you can still eat there!

Good for the price, and a great takeout place for good quality with premium selections takeout. We got the premium box, but it didn't exactly hit the spot. The fish was fresh and I love when they give the sweet shrimp heads (not just the body), but the uni was a bit of a miss. The owners were sweet, attentive and really accommodating (they gave a strawberry mochi ice cream on the house!lOverall I'd recommend coming here if you're looking for decent quality premium sushi without the paying the price point that comes with a fancy dine in place.

What a cute little sushi spot in Midtown! I typically only have omakase if I am dining in because I worry about quality, however, I was quite surprised at how the quality and flavors were retained. I went with their $40 omakase box and thought it was pretty solid. It came with 10 pieces of nigiri and a negi toro roll. For $40, I think it's a steal! The only troubling piece I would say is their uni as it seemed to not taste very fresh. I think it's good value for the price I paid. I also had their Beef Tataki and I really enjoyed these. They were nicely torched and melted in my mouth. I think this is a great spot to have a nice lunch if you want to treat yourself without breaking the bank.
