A fairly unique offering in the bustling Times Square! Fitted in what was previously a church, this pizza spot offers lots of character. I love that they didn't alter the setting and instead embrace the history of the building. I always enjoy a pie at John's when catching a Broadway show. They are open late so if you fancy a post show pizza, you're in luck. We were seated at about ten pm without a wait, but if you do want to dine pre-show, call ahead in case. I've seen the place when it is packed! Ultimately though, it's pretty large with a second level of available seating. They definitely turn tables fast when they need to. The servers are all friendly and the pies are delicious! Margarita is my go-to! If you are in the theater district for any reason, John's should be on your restaurant roster.

We were able to be seated quickly which was a very good thing. I remember waiting almost an hour several years ago to snag a table. They have two levels but often choose not to seat patrons up there. This restaurant is located in an old church. This alone attracts a lot of patrons. On the night I ate there in December, our server was nice. We only ordered a large pizza and a couple of drinks. The beer I drank was a local one and it was very good. The taste of the pizza was ok. I remember it tasting better. The base of it was very thin. My daughter and I had a very long day of walking around the city. I am glad John's dat us quickly but I just don't think the food is that great. It is certainly not bad but not the best

John's pizzeria in Times Square is an absolute must go. My friend and I decided to try this pizzeria after I saw it on one of my Youtubers channel. After our lovely spa day, we jumped on the train and headed straight there. They only take walk-ins no reservations. When we got there they gave us a number and we waited, maybe around 10 minutes before we got seated. It was indeed crowded but that's always a good sign :) This restaurant is humongous. apparently it use to be a Cathedral. Our waiter Danny was super friendly and serviced us with a smile, and he took our order. We both ordered two Shirley temples and we got half margarita half pepperoni pizza, but started with their insanely delicious garlic rolls with mozzarella cheese in the center with a marinara dipping sauce. That is a must get. I have never tasted garlic rolls like that before and I will order that time and time again whenever I am there. My friend also got there chicken fettuccine, which was nice and creamy but it did lack a lot of flavor in terms of salt and pepper. All in all I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Times Square area, you will not be disappointed.

Pizza was good ... shrimp ! The ambience... for the place being an old church - quite an experience... considering you are in Manhattan.

I've had the pleasure of dining at John's of Times Square on two separate occasions, and both experiences were fantastic. On my first visit, I ordered the Margherita pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizza had a perfectly crisp crust with just the right balance of fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil--simple but absolutely delicious. The Caesar salad was fresh, with a nice amount of dressing and crispy croutons that complemented the dish well.On my second visit, I opted for the traditional pizza and Caesar salad again. The traditional pizza was just as impressive, with a robust flavor from the sauce and a generous amount of toppings that didn't overwhelm the crust. Once again, the Caesar salad hit all the right notes. What stood out both times was the attentive and friendly staff, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're in the area and craving great pizza and classic Italian fare, John's of Times Square is definitely worth a visit.

If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of NYC, John's of Times Square is the place to be. This isn't just a pizzeria--it's a piece of history, a testament to vision and determination, and hands down, one of the best meals you'll have in the city. The story behind this place is as inspiring as its food. Set in a beautifully restored former church, the stained glass ceiling and authentic architecture create an atmosphere that's both unique and inviting. You can feel the heart and soul that Madeline Castellotti poured into creating this masterpiece. Now, let's talk food: We started with the minestrone soup, which was fresh, hearty, and absolutely perfect for a bitterly cold NYC day. It warmed us up from the inside out. But the star of the show was the classic pepperoni pizza. Cooked in their legendary coal-fired brick ovens, the crust had the ideal amount of crispness, the cheese was perfectly melted and flavorful, and the sauce struck the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. Every bite was a symphony of flavors. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive despite the restaurant being packed--a true sign of a well-run establishment.Whether you're a local or visiting Times Square for the first time, John's is an absolute must-visit. It's not just a meal, it's an experience, and one you won't forget. Five stars all the way!

The service we received at this restaurant was very good. The best thing was when we arrived at the place, where Kelvin greeted us and sat us at an excellent table. From that table we could see how they made the pizzas in the oven. Delicious food. Highly recommended if you want good service and good food.Sergio and Jenny
