John's Deli II

WOW! The 2 two things I tried were oustanding! The fried ravioli was delicious & that marinara sauce was to die for. The godfather sandwich was amaazzzing! It is definitely one of my top 5 sandwiches in NYC. The sandwich doesn't look anything special, but when you eat it you will be amazed! There was so much different delicious flavors at every bite: savory, sweet, spicy, tangy. It was a party in my mouth! I make happy sounds whenever I eat delicious foods & I was making too much of that. I also kept saying "jesus christ this is one delicious sandwich"! The cool thing is that u can tell them how to season the sandwich. I asked for the red pepper tomato concoction, pesto, basil, mayo, black pepper, frated parmesan cheese, white vinegar, balsamic glaze. That combo seasoning made that sandwich even more delicious!I have passed by this shop many times & I regret not trying it earlier. I can't wait to try their other sandwiches. I highly highly recommend this shop!

I've lived in the area for many many years and never tried John's deli. Decided to come here and pick up some sandwiches. They have a big menu so it's overwhelming. I ordered The Godfather and a hot roast beef sandwich (forgot the name). The Godfather wasn't bad but nothing special about it. The roast beef sandwich was really bland, this could just be a normal thing because I've had other roast beef where it's also bland. If I ever make it back here again I'd love to try their hot foods instead of another sandwich.

I was in the area, & in the mood for cold cut sandwich. For starters, they have so many options to choose from, cold/hot sandwiches and hot food. The names of their sandwiches are pretty cool, it's From movies and famous shows. Although the food is good, the service sucks. Idk if it was me, or the employees, but one of us seemed lost. The guy asked me what would I like to order, but then seemed confused when I ordered. It took him a little while to get it together. It was simple because We had cold cut sandwiches and ordered a side of fried ravioli. I heard this place used to be really good back in the days, but not so much now. I'll go back again & try a hot sandwich next time.

The Sandwich is good! Filled with meat, but in my opinion it's lacking a little in flavor.

I have been coming here since I was in high school. Yes, they do have great sandwiches but their other food items are quite tasty too. I usually get the breaded chicken cut up over an order of large fries that is then smothered in marinara sauce. Consistency is one of their positives because my recent order tasted exactly as it did when I was in high school. The price is also pretty much the same.I would not recommend going here in the afternoon when school is in session because it will be full of high school students but lunch in the summertime would be a good idea.

Surprisingly good, affordable sandwich which has been delicious. Been a couple times and would definitely recommend for the area.

Gotta roll deep into Brooklyn to get this tummy stuffer! Gravesend.My kind'a hero! Roast beef w mutz, carmelized onions and their secret gravy! You think you can find a better roast beef sandwich! fuggedaboutit!You take a nice big bite of this hot sandwhich and feel the crunch of the toasted hero bun, the melted mozzarella, the sweetness of the onions and the creaminess of the gravy. It all comes together nicely. This spot has been throwing down this baby since 1968! Can't believe there's a Subway couple of doors over. Dont know how they allowed that. This place is lined w pics of famous people and a real friendly atmosphere. Its a residential meighborhood. The origin of the name is debated and one thought is: In Old English, 'grave' meant 'grove' so the name means 'town at the end of the grove.

Boy, Has this place gone downhill.. did the original owners die Because that's one Mötley Crüe behind the counter so I'm really cheap roast beef unlike the quality it was 20 years ago.. I never realize the place was so loud everyone's young in the television reciting lines while I'm trying to eat lunch with my girlfriend. This is why I left Brooklyn in the first place. To remove myself from the typical immigrant mindset bread I would never eat there again I would rather drive all the way to roll N roaster to get a roast beef sandwich.

WHERE DO I START?(1) I waited 20 min for an order that ONLY needed to be placed in a take out container. I ordered from their hot displayed already cooked food!(2) Chicken was RAW PINK (see photo)!(3) VERY FEW Potato wedges TOO SWEET!(4) Green beans had SO MANY chunks of garlic it was placed in the garbage!!So for $14 I was better off going to Popeyes. I REALLY wanted to like this meal it looked so good on the display! They make the BEST roast beef sandwiches maybe they need to stick to sandwiches and forget the HOT Food?They renovated and upgraded the place looks great but DOWNGRADED on the hot food.Next time I go I will get a sandwich or wait I may have to wait an hour for THAT?Forgedaboutit! I'm done with this place it got worse no wonder it was empty!

I ordered a cold cut sandwich ham, salami, swiss cheese and lettuce. The sandwich was so full I could hardly bite it. I ordered cold slaw as well fresh and delicious. I had it delivered came pretty quick, they are wonderful to deal with.
