Expect a wait and chaos at the entrance but worth the wait! The xiu mai here is great, and if you can snag an egg yolk pineapple bun, grab at least two orders - one to eat there and one to go! You may be seated with other parties but everyone was very nice.

Walked in hoping for some soup dumplings to warm us from the storm, and ended up being yelled at on our way out.We waited almost 30 minutes for a table for two. During our wait, walk-ins of 3-4 that came in after us were being seated before us. While this was disappointing, the experience only got worse. We were seated with a pot of tea we didn't ask for, which you would assume is complimentary, but ended up being charged to the bill. With no clear direction on how their restaurant works, we sat for a while waiting for our order to be taken. We eventually had to call a random server over to order. The food itself was average, and the appetizers they brought on carts were cold. Because the lack of service, and our overall experience being disappointing, we did not leave a tip. This prompted the server who grabbed our check to begin yelling at us on our way out. Overall a terrible experience.

I came here for dim sum but wasn't too impressed in the end. We had a small wait for a table, and we had the pork buns, chicken buns, wonton soup, and shu mai. The shu mai was my favorite, but it tasted as good as what you get from any dim sum restaurant. The buns were good too, just not my favorite. I hate to say it but I actually found the wonton soup to be surprisingly undersalted. Service was a bit unfriendly, but not terrible. Overall I'd probably pass on dim sum in NYC next time.

Very busy place. Came here with a friend for dim sum waiting line is insane. Service goes fast. We had good times while people were bumping into us but when you are in good company you don't care much. It's topical dim sum no surprises.

Very solid dim sum place except for the huge wait. We got a ticket for a table for three and were told it'd take 15-20 minutes but ended up waiting over an hour! Granted it was the weekend, but would've been helpful to have a closer estimate :) We ended up sharing a table with another group of three, but with the huge tables, it felt quite spacious.Once we were inside though, everything hit the spot! Piping hot but not scorched tea, tasty dumplings, and delicious assorted classic dim sum dishes. I appreciated how all the dishes were fresh and hot.Likes:The shumai, har gow, and sesame balls were very safe, solid choices. I felt the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce didn't have quite the perfect stem texture you sometimes get at dim sum but was tasty nonetheless.Loves:I especially enjoyed the tofu skin which had some sort of pork filling. The salted egg yolk bun was cute and especially delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by the steamed roast pork bun. I loved the sweet bun and well seasoned filling without those intrusive fat blobs.Overall, I'd come again! Just need to make sure to allocate enough time and bring more layers for the wait :)

This is one of my go-to places for dim sum in NYC-- the restaurant is clean, ambiance is nice, not too loud, decent selection (mainly focused on traditional dishes), and food is solid and very authentic. And they have carts, which you don't see in many places anymore!!! I recommend getting here between 10:30-11 for no wait. In terms of food, anything involving shrimp they do pretty well-- shrimp dumplings, rice noodles, siu mai, it's all good. I also really like the BBQ pork buns here. Fried taro puffs were mid, wouldn't get again. Sesame balls were alright, not the best but not bad either (we originally got lukewarm ones but staff were good about replacing them with fresh ones when asked).

We came for a group dinner to celebrate the Lunar New Year and it was excellent. The seating was more comfortable than most spots in Chinatown and the food itself was excellent. Be sure to get the lobster sticky rice and crispy garlic chicken, along with the dim sum (which is available all day from the menu). This was my first time here for dinner and it definitely did not disappoint!

What a dim sum restaurant should be! Dim Sum is served all day long and definitely a favorite restaurant of the locals in Chinatown.Service was super friendly and very helpful when we wanted to try something from the menu versus off of rolling cart. Rolling steam cart has all the dim sum specialties, and you can get carried away pretty quickly! Super reasonable even for the hungriest!I love the ladies that bring the carts around as they're definitely trying to get you to take more every time so be prepared and don't be put off by this cultural tradition which can be really fun (don't interpret it that they're yelling at you! it's a cultural thing - think of your mom trying to get you to eat more - LOL!). The restaurant is super clean and well maintained. No alcohol served but plenty of nice tea and nonalcoholic beverages available.

If you want really good dim sum, this is the place to go. The line out the door will prove me right! Service is excellent. Lots of carts coming though. Food is very good. Prices are good. I loved everything I got. And the sesame roll with lotus (sweet) was phenomenal. The place could be three times as big and still packed. So go when it opens. Enjoy!

Absolutely terrible experience -- never coming back.I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience at Jing Fong was extremely distasteful that I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment we walked in, the service was an absolute disaster. The greeter/owner was a rude and dismissive. She treats customers like her employees as you wait for a table. She also does not honor the waitlist numbers and let her friends in first although they came later. When you question the process, she shuts you down. We were extremely unhappy with the attitude and decided not to support this restaurant with my wallet. If you want to be treated poorly for spending your hard earned $, you can certain come, but for me I will choose other restaurants before this one.
