Love it! They give you so much food! I got a lunch special for $17.99.I got an entree, two sides, salad or salad. But before she brought all that the waitress brought me three additional sides and a huge peice of pita bread. Their food is so good. The restaurant is run by Moroccans and this is authentic Middle Eastern food. They have delicious Yemenite Soup. The service is great. The restaurant atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. Though I spent more here for lunch than I originally planned to it was totally worth it. Something to be aware of, they automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill. Tip:Order something to dip your pita in when you order something like the lunch special and the waiter brings a complimentary pita. I had originally ordered a different side but then changed it to Hummus when I saw that she brought the pita.

Came in over the weekend to try and snab an early Purim lunch before the giant 3pm party took over the place.First thing is first, the amount of food you get at this place is massive. Before you even start, a small army of Israeli side dishes including corn salad, pickled radish, olives, gherkins, malted veggies, and cole slaw alongside HUMONGOUS portions of homemade bread are brought to the table free of charge. While you nibble on your free goodies, if you still wish to order an appetizer, the combo plate with falafel balls should be enough to put you over the top which comes with a "best of" Israeli dip combo including hummus, tahini, babaganoush, fried eggplants, avocado salad among others that you can eat on their own or you can put your giant bread pieces to work and dip them right onto the platter.Yet if for some reason you still are not stuffed to capacity and willing to cry uncle, then please by all means dive right into their meat selection. From steaks to chicken to lamb, everything at Jerusalem is cooked to perfection and will feed you at least 2 to 3 meals. They really should put a disclaimer on the menu that you should share these platters as once you see how much flesh is on your plate, the pricing makes a bit more sense. The one downside to their meat is that certain cuts or dishes (chicken fajitas and lamb) tend to be a bit more oily or fatty then necessary and might require a bit of a trim in order to savor the meat itself. Overall a good kosher steakhouse option where if you walk out hungry, you did something wrong.

This was a while ago, but I've received criticism for this review (under compliments no less), but the fact remains this was my experience and since I spent 8 years working in the service industry myself, this isn't a good way to run a restaurant. We were not the usual demographic of this restaurant, but having worked in many different places I would never have served food while on the phone or ignored my customers. If they needed the time to tend to business the owner/manager should have helped out or closed down. Adding 20% gratuity for two people is ridiculous. To criticism my review because I'd only been there once is ridiculous. If I am not treated as a valuable customer then why would I lie or go back to pay money to be treated so again? If I ran a place of business and treated a customer like this, I would expect them to be unhappy and isn't this the forum for it? The majority of my reviews are positive so this isn't just me looking for a forum to complain.

Jerusalem Steakhouse on Ave J has been catering to the Ave J neighborhood for more than 15 years. I've been coming here with the family since they opened and it's always great. AnimatThe starter salads and homemade laffa are fantastic. Their hummus and guac are must haves. The grilled chicken, shish kebab, schnitzel and skirt steak is always great! You won't leave hungry that's for sure.

I've heard some great stuff about the steakhouse so I definitely wanted to give it a try. We ended up ordering the mixed grill, shawarma, and hummus. Before the order comes out, you're flooded with 8 small plates of various vegetables and a huge laffa bread -- all of which was absolutely delicious. They definitely use fresh ingredients and truly know what they're doing in the kitchen. By the time the entrees came out, we were practically stuffed. I recommend nibbling on the free stuff but remembering to leave plenty of room for the main entrees. I have to admit, it will be difficult as that stuff is addictive. The entrees are very large and regardless of what you eat beforehand, I recommend sharing a dish. The mixed grill was absolutely delicious but the schawarma surprisingly wasn't too tasteful. The place is nice and clean and the waitstaff is very friendly. I definitely recommend coming here. Just remember -- come hungry and share.

The food is amazing lunch has great specials even dinner the prices aren't too shabby the kabbobs are big but they only give you 1 so that's a disappointment but it makes up for size in taste. The sides are very good also the mashed potatoes are excellent. Overall 5 star experience!

I would give it a 4.5 if I knew how. I wasn't prepared for a great experience as I had not enjoyed it several years ago so I was pleasantly surprised. I was with my husband, cousin and friend and we were all very happy at the end of the meal. Right after sitting down several salads and a huge laffa were placed on the table. There as not a long wait for the main courses to come out. Kitty our waitress was amazing-no matter what we asked for the answer was yes. and she truly made the meal a good one.We asked for more laffa-no problem. My friend asked for more pickles, etc with her take out-no problem. The french fries are soft and homemade and the portion size was very good. The portion sizes were big enough for all of us to take food home. They are little expensive but not more than a lot of kosher ones and there is value for the money considering portion sizes. I had a burger but tasted the steak and it was excellent. I would definitely go back if the opportunity arises. It is a middle eastern restaurant so a lot of the salads and appetizers are middle eastern ones.

I just got my order from the restaurant and the food came ice cold and was the most bland tasting crap ive ever eaten . Save your money and go to a place that actually cares about what they put out for there customers .

This place is still holding number 1 steak house in Brooklyn. They first start you off with an assortment of salads and a large hot steaming lafa. The waitresses come almost immediately to ask if you want to order salads(chumus, eggplant, avocado etc)and drinks and possibly some kids meals. Then you have an option to mix any 2 main dishes together for the same price. The food is fresh and top of the line. They also have a large lunch special it not so cheap and a sandwich special for a decent price.
