Astoundingly good food in one of the classiest interiors in Manhattan, with terrific service. 5 star food: Jean-Georges has a master chef at the helm. The food is always inventive and usually pretty amazing.5 star ambience: there are few places in NyC with this levelOf food with an interior and outdoor view this beautiful. Big plate glass windows look right out onto Central Park5 star service: servers are almost ninjas here. They're smiling and glide in and out like a choreographed ballet.

Celebrated my anniversary here recently. With a restaurant of this caliber and price point, you expect perfection across food, ambiance, & service and I feel like this place delivered. It's not the best meal I've ever had and there were some dishes I enjoyed more than others, but overall this was a true experience that I would recommend, especially if you're celebrating something or someone special. Some things to consider:-There were 4 tasting menu options when we went: 6 course, 6 course (vegetarian), 10 course, and a special after the original debut years ago. We opted for the 10 course. -10 course is said to take 3-3.5 hours and it's true. We were there for about 4 hours! They do a spectacular job pacing the food - we didn't feel rushed and yet the 4 hours flew by. -There is no wine pairing option, but the waiters are super knowledgeable so if you let them know you want to do something similar to a wine pairing they have great recs based on the menu. Food: I won't go through each course, but I left stuffed. The price point is high ($398 / person for 10 courses), but it's actually a pretty good deal all things considered. It might be the most generous portion sizes I've had for a tasting menu!I thought the dishes were unique and inventive, but elevated and without trying too hard to be "cool". Some favorites were the Heirloom Tomato's, Eylsian Field Lamb, and Black Forest dessert. They also have a little dessert cart with mini desserts - you get to choose as many as you like. Such a cute touch. They also gave us a free cake with candles for our anniversary- definitely a personable touch I appreciated. And they send you home with a mini loaf of almond bread, so good!

This place is one of my favorite restaurants to come to every time I visit New York. Beautiful venue with delicious food and the little additional touches of amuse bouche, petite fours and marshmallows just make you feel like you're getting extra treatment.

What an incredible night. We celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and it was everything you could imagine. The service was impeccable. Never overbearing yet super attentive. The dining room is simple, elegant and timeless. But the food. The food was out of this world. Delicious food that pleases the eyes as well as the tastebuds. Gorgeous presentation and placement as well.

John-Georges was a disappointment. I can see why they lost their star--service was subpar, and the food was just plain blah. Nothing stood out, and the overall experience felt underwhelming.

Incredible French dishes elevated with Asian fusion. The black sea bass fish with banyuls vinegar and brown butter jus was the most surprising dish I have ever had. Right off the bat, the aroma from the brown butter jus and vinegar was divine - fragrant and nutty blended with an interesting sour tingling. The broth is so full of flavour - rich and buttery but is perfectly balanced by the sourness of the vinegar. The pearl onions, tomatoes, mushrooms enrich the broth's flavours and are a wonderful accompaniment. The fish is cooked perfectly and has a subtle light flavour, an amazing pairing with the rich broth with the crusted skin lending a crispy texture. Overall a truly magical dish with the most incredible and astonishing combination of flavors, I have never had anything like this before or since. The ingredients were some of the finest I've seen - king crab, black truffles, caviar, Hudson valley foie gras - all cooked perfectly, so exquisite. The Asian fusion elements incorporated into many of dishes elevated them and made very interesting flavour combinations. Perhaps there were a few too many sour elements, where the sourness became overwhelming toward the end.The bread and butter were amazing, the butter rich and creamy. The dessert was a perfect ending to the meal, very sophisticated and beautiful.

Wow, we really had a nice evening at Jean-Georges. Been on my list to come here for a while and it didn't disappoint. Roger, our server, was excellent and made some great recommendations. We did the 10 course tasting and enjoyed every morsel. Service, ambiance, food - all top notch. Definitely deserving of it's 2 Michelin stars.I also highly recommend having the Chocolate Martini, it's a very unique take on it.
