Visit this lively Indian eatery in New York City's East Village, which is situated at 13th Street on 2nd Ave. Jazba is well-known for its classic recipes that date back more than a century. They have a deep religious and cultural connection and a rich taste. The atmosphere is lovely and distinctive. loved the utensils and their cooking prowess. They have resemblance to the rich legacy of India. Their unique drinks, which draw inspiration from Indian spices, were the menu item that drew my interest. They contain surprising sweet, smoky, and savory components from unique Indian ingredients including Banarasi Paan, Meghalayan peepli pepper, Chikmagalur coffee, and more. Mulethi was the name of the one I tried. made with gin and mulethi (sweetwood and licorice) infusion. It has a sour taste with a net-shaped biscuit on top. The Delhi ki Tikki chaat and paneer teh pe teh were excellent on tiny platters. They have my highest recommendation. For the main course, I tried Kashmiri Nadru Kofta and it became my personal favorite instantly. It was a delicious lotus root dumpling dipped curry prepared in creamy cashew sauce and. Also ordered Peepaywale Wadi Aloo (potato). I ate bread - Lachha Paratha, and Tandoori Roti. Why wait, then? Visit the Jazba Restaurant at 207 2nd Ave, NY 10003.

Pretty decent Indian food in the city, I will say that both the service and the ambiance are on point, but the food itself was quite alright. My friends got the fish appetizer to share and they really enjoyed it especially paired with the mint chutney and they liked their drinks! The golgappa here was fun because it came with different flavored waters which made it unique. The green chilli chicken is not for the weak. That dish was spicy but super flavorful. The murgh makhani was my favorite and the paneer was nice and soft! Definitely a little pricey but overall a decent spot for Indian.

This is the sister restaurant to Junoon in Flatiron that is really a pretty incredible place. Jazba is a littler different in that it honors traditional recipes. There are places that serve a single dish until the end of the day.The place on the lower east side on 2nd and it feels like a traditional street area. There are two spaces with lots of traditional decorations. We got to sit in the quieter spot I the back. There are so many different spots and I barely understand anything about the culture so this was a real treat. The had a huge variety of things, the Kebabs were great, we had the Aminabad which is mutton and delicious. These Railway Mutton Curry as also delicious. It has a yoghurt spice rub and the menu is great explaining the history of these ingredients. Apparently this was served during the British ran era on trains. The Hyderabadi biryani was also great. The chicken was great. The basmati rice as well. We had to try the Goan Prawn Curry as well also really flavorfulOne of the thigh lifts of the place were the cocktails. Expensive, but the Mulethi is a go sour but really great. They serve them in old fashioned tin cups so that is really great as well. The Paan which is rye whiskey is also a delight.Overall this is a great way to try some really different cuisine from colonial India. Give it a try!

Loving Jazba. Have been here a few times and really enjoyed our experience each time. The staff here is so kind and friendly. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu and dietary restrictions and have made some very good recommendations. Creative cocktails. My favorite has been the stinging vesper - it's very similar to a martini. Have also enjoyed the Paan. My favorite menu items have been the Atari Paneer and the Goan Prawn Curry. Not too spicy for either of them.

This place was INCREDIBLE. This place honestly felt a little like a unique fusion. We ordered some items to share - Paneer Teh Pe Teh, Golgappa, Basket Chaat, Murg Makhani, Lasooni Saag, Pork Belly & Chorico Chilli, Roomali Roti and Garlic Naan. Everything was sooo good - my favorites with the golgappa (the mango sauce is amazing and the textures were just perfect) and murg makhani. The only thing I would personally say you can skip is the saag as it wasn't super flavorful. Service was great - would totally come back!!

It was easy to get a reservation a Saturday night. The service is pretty good - they are quite attentive.Their menu is quite different than the usual one found at any Indian restaurant. It does cover dishes from different parts of India, some very local ones too.We loved kachori kadhi - never knew this combination existed. The kadhi was yum - it was more of Rajasthani/marwadi taste. The kachori's filling was great too. Main course we ordered wadi aloo and dhaba daal fry. The wadi aloo is some punjabi style and yes this is spicy! I liked the overall masala, quite different. The daal fry has 3 types of lentils and I felt this could have been better. The bread area was a total disappointment. I was super excited to try roomali roti but it was quite average. We had ordered butter naan which is good but the quantity was so less. It was a tiny naan in comparison to what you usually get at other places at same price.

As per most of other recent reviews, I went to this restaurant months ago with a medium sized group and for this group, we ordered everything separate. It's a bit fancier than most other Indian spots but they have some selections you just don't find in many other places and overall, we enjoyed the food here a lot. The menu also has fun little descriptions after the ingredients which I'll be listing in parenthesis. The staff here was friendly and they gave good recommendations for people who were looking for something other larger or smaller as well as spice recommendations in terms of dishes. To drink, I had the Charred Cobbler with Tio Pepe fino sherry, sfumato rhubarb amaro, blackberry-coriander puree, and citrus for $16. I tend to not like too many cocktails in Indian restaurants but this was a good exception. Nice mix of citrus with some burn from the alcohol to balance it all out. It's not on the current menu being listed as part of the Junoon inspired drinks but I wouldn't be surprised if it came back or something similar in fall. To start, I decided between the two chaats and the golgappa (i.e. pani puri.) I went with the Basket Chaat or potato basket, sweet potato, papdi, chickpeas. (most famous street food from the city of the nawabs, Lucknow) for $16. This was a pretty tasty take on chaat though I would say a bit heavy on the yogurt compared to some other places. The sweet potato was different but added a nice texture and flavor. Otherwise there were the usual mint chutney and tamarind chutney on top as well as some pomegranate seeds of course. In terms of fancy chaat, I prefer the one at Gazab and a couple other spots but this was decent. My main dish was the Ros Omelette-Prawn listed as curry leaves scraped coconut, pav bread, ("ros means "gravy in sauce" and food carts line across Goa to sell this unique omelette dish) for $34 or so. This is unfortunately something that's not currently on the menu as it was replaced by the more generic Goan Prawn Curry. The curry itself was delicious reminding me a little bit of xacuti found in some Goan spots though slightly different. I was happy it didn't have too much coconut in particular and let the spices shine more. The omelette on the bottom was very soft and everything paired well with the fluffy pav/pao bread. My only complaint would be that for the price, there really weren't enough shrimp for the price (if I recall correctly there were 4 or 5 in there at most.) They could honestly serve the gravy over the omelette with the bread as one of the half tickets for around $17 or $18 and it would make an excellent appetizer or a tasty take on the usual egg brunch dish instead.Overall the food here was tasty. It's a bit fancier than other Indian spots but honestly, the food here is better than at the nearby GupShup and especially Baar Baar. There could have been a bit more meat for the price but the flavors were solid even though there were faults. Upper 3

Delicious menu! We came for restaurant week on a weeknight, which was $45 for an appetizer (Half Ticket) and main (Full Ticket) with both a rice and a bread, and a dessert. We also got cocktails - fun and strong!Great service! It looked like they were pushing at some point and it went well! Fun casual vibe and interior. I love Junoon, so this was a great experience.
