Enjoyed lunch during restaurant week.I had the roasted eggplant for my appetizer. It was silky smooth and bursting with flavor. The pita was tender and about 5" tall. The lamb pita was a generous serving of flavorful tender lamb. The tzatziki salad was divine. The olive oil cake was perfect--not overly sweet. My husband ordered the winter winter caesar salad. His branzino was perfectly cooked. The baklava was a generous square full of pistachios.

Overall a pleasant dinner. The dip platter was a good start (I usually don't go with platter) but truly enjoyed all of them here.Quail Kebab was very good.Corn Keftede was my other favorite.Thrahana Tots would hope it's crispier.

Disappointing and overpriced (though it's an upscale restaurant, so I should've seen the cost coming). I had the moussaka. It's a baked eggplant and cheese dish as it would be at any other restaurant, but this one is topped with "potato texture," which is basically just fingerling potato chips. They add some welcome textural contrast to an otherwise standard dish. The issue is that the eggplant part was far too salty. At $40 with tax and tip, it's hard to say this was worth it, unless you're mostly there for the ambiance. The portions are also tiny - I wasn't particularly hungry, but you'll probably want a side or two for a complete meal. But that of course cranks the cost up even more.

The food here is absolutely Excellent! Great raw oysters too. I ate at the bar. The service was lovely. Tourist spot. Check your receipt before you pay is all I will say.

Checked out Iris after seeing such a high rating on google maps. The ambience is beautiful with the big space and lighting. Food was on the pricey and small side. Got a few things since we weren't too hungry:1. Eggplant dip: good but soooo tiny. Came with a big fluffy sourdough pita2. Grilled octopus: pretty good too. Perfectly cooked3. Swordfish: another great cook. 3 decent sized chunks of swordfish. With this brown butter sauce Service was... alright. You can tell the server was kinda new and inexperienced, fumbling over explaining the menu. Booked this for a bday dinner, and for such a nice restaurant, they sadly don't give you anything for your bday. Disappointing. Overall, food was good, but prices were pretty high for such tiny servings. There's a bunch of other nicer and better Mediterranean restaurants with a beautiful vibe. Probably not going back given this even though it was pretty good.

I love the ambiance, the free entertainment, the wait staff service and mostly the foods and drinks. A pleasant experience during the stay. With less expectations in coming here as invited by a friend to dine out. Our server Alice is the best. Plenty of food recommendations that will cater each one's limitation. Happy that we were allowed to shared plates with no service fee for our main courses. We have the option to pick between happy hour, pre theater and dinner menu. We opted for the Ala carte so we could try different choices. As we seldomly try Mediterranean cuisine, we picked what we think is best with the help of our server. We had quail legs and pita with tsaziki for appetizers, branzino fillet, grilled tuna sword, lobster ink squid and broccolini for main course and the Turkish pastry selection for desserts. Excellent choices! Serving size is small but just enough for small eaters. A bit pricy but worth each penny for the taste. Enjoyed all! There is a freebie entertainment from after 6:30 pm during our visit ( weekend). A recommended place for a good dining out in Midtown.

I liked this restaurant! We were there for the Valentine's Day pre-fixe, which was very reasonably priced for the four course meal we received (at $115). There was live jazz and it was a very spacious place with high ceilings. It was a bit weird because it was a beautiful restaurant that was bizarrely attached to an office lobby - there was no wall or door in between, so you could see into the open space. The food was good, not spectacular. The lobster tagliatelle was far too salty but still good, the scallop was so yummy but only came with one , and the desserts were fabulous. The mezze starter was also great. The service was wonderful all around, and definitely the highlight of the meal. I'm glad I tried it!

My friend and I originally stopped by to sample the Restaurant Week menu, but we ultimately decided to go with the a la carte menu instead. We got the spiced lamb flatbread to shared and I got the beef skewer entree. The flatbread was delicious, although the presentation was unexpected. The beef was tender and cooked well, and the accompanying rice was fantastic, especially with the tzatziki sauce. I also got the Dawn of Adonis, which was refreshing and wonderfully fruity. Service was a bit slow, but might have been a busy night. And the decor was very sleek, which made for a nice upscale experience. All in all, it was a nice experience.

Good food, good service, nice looking restaurant, clean rest rooms, solid menu, reasonable prices, not loud. So it's an excellent choice and we enjoyed it. Just not at that 5-star level for us.Also we thought it was a bit expensive relative to value. Maybe by 10%.Hummus and whipped feta were good but modest portions. The fluffy pita that came with them was excellent.Dolmas were very good. Four to an order which was ok.Village Salad was very tasty, a bit expensive, decidedly not enough feta or variety beyond tomatoes and cucumbers (we got the "large" version, which is quite large. Enough for 4 people to share.Half chicken was good.Baklava excellent or better than excellent.Hazelnut mousse ok.Aegean pastry cart disappointing. Seemed like two of the three the pastries we selected were not fresh. Also not enough options on the cart.

I'm not sure if this review will be seen or taken seriously. I just want to leave my impressions of my first time dining at IRIS. I found this place online through multiple accounts of people claiming that it's an amazing establishment for special occasions --which convinced me to go. I decided to book this place for my second year anniversary dinner with my girlfriend as I had liked the photos of the atmosphere and food people posted on google and yelp. However, today, which is the day of the event, and when I am writing this review as well changed my entire impression of this place. First off, when I made the reservation I specified the occasion as "Second Year Anniversary" and specifically requested for a good seat for such occasion. When I arrived, the host had given me the options of sitting CLOSE to the server tablet OR sitting NEXT to the server tablet. This immediately baffled me as this is not what I or my girlfriend had expected after requesting a, maybe, more intimate or private area. Believe me, even a few tables away from where servers will be going to walk back and forth would have prevented from writing this. Out of the two options, me and my girlfriend had chosen the booth table which is, believe it or not, NEXT to where the servers will be going back and forth. I will admit this could've been my mistake as I did not realize that the seat was next to the tablet where they actually will be going back and forth since there are also OTHER tablets in the restaurant which I found out later during my visit. Also, at the time, my focus was to be in the present with my girlfriend, enjoying every moment as we can, and should NOT be about worrying for seats and tables.Moving forward, we had ordered the food that many people mentioned on other reviews -- the lamb flatbread and the short ribs. The food was fantastic. There is nothing bad to say about. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed it very much. I will be leaving this review as a 3 stars for the food ALONE.As both my girlfriend and I tried our absolute best to enjoy our intimate conversations, celebrating our second year of being together, the servers kept going back and forth right next to our table. Looking back, it made me sad how hard we have to try to enjoy our dinner. To end this, in no way do I mean this to sound privileged, I believe workers should leave when they are supposed to leave. However, when there are still many people dining at the restaurant despite being past closing time, I don't think I or anyone should feel like they are being rushed to leave the establishment asap, especially after paying, tipping and being told that they had "READ" that this is me and my girlfriend's second year anniversary and hoped that we had a good time... I'm just completely confused to their acknowledgment of the fact and the lack of awareness.Again, I don't want to write reviews for the sake of condemning restaurants but this is just unfair and not right to me. If anyone sees this and care enough to take this into account please reach out to my account/email ([email protected]).Thanks.
