Holy shit. This is where you wanna go if you want to feel like a classy fiend, a fancy big back. At $160 a person, you might be thinking it's not worth it. Honestly, it is expensive. But let's say you need about $20-25 a day. I might even agree to fast for 7 days just to eat here. That's how worth Hyun is. You are getting AYCE A5 Japanese Wagyu at Hyun. From their shoulders, knuckle, short ribs, their fatty cuts, their lean cuts, their 48 hour apple soy garlic marinade, the meat SINGS. Like it fucking sings in your mouth, so fatty yet so clean like the sexiest big opera lady you've ever seen. And she's got star instrumentalists in the back or something. I'm talking about TRUFFLE SALT, authentic tingly Japanese wasabi, Rose wine salt, deep punching gochujang. Trying the meat with each different condiment feels like you're at a runway show seeing different models in different outfits.Hyun is fantastic. 90 minutes of AYCE of some of the highest quality of meat on the planet at $160 sounds like a steal now right?Just go. Starve for a week if you have to. I know times are tough but Hyun is even tougher to beat.

I had the pleasure of dining at Hyun during a visit to New York for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, though the space is quite small. The service, however, was exceptional--our server took the time to introduce each cut of meat and even cooked it for us at the table. The quality of the meat was excellent, and the side dishes complemented the fatty cuts perfectly. The server was also very enthusiastic about recommending additional sides, particularly the cold noodles, which turned out to be a great addition to balance the richness of the meat. That said, the meal came with a hefty price tag--sparkling water, for instance, was around $10. There's also a 90-minute time limit to all you can eat, and while the cooking and serving processes are thorough, they aren't exactly fast. The meat itself, though delicious at first, is quite fatty, and after the third serving, we found ourselves needing the sides to break up the richness. As a result, you might find yourself limited in how much you can eat, as you won't be consuming pounds of meat during the allotted time. While I did feel satisfied within the 90 minutes, I also felt like we needed to order more to get the most value for the experience. To be completely honest I was a bit sick of the fatty meat after 3 rounds. Overall, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The day after, my partner experienced a stomach issue, likely due to not being accustomed to the rich, fatty meat. I enjoy A5 wagyu, but I likely won't opt for an all-you-can-eat experience again. Due to the cost, time constraints, and the heavy nature of the meal, I likely won't return again.

I came here for my birthday dinner and loved every moment of the hyun-makase experience! My favorite was the cut Wagyu, and the kimchiAmbiance: zen decor, cozy, soft lighting, includes more private tables divided by curtains and also booth seatingService: our server was very knowledgeable about the different cuts of Wagyu and gave us recommendations to pair the fresh cuts with the bread and kimchi. Our server also cooked the meat for us and got us more banchan throughout the mealFood:Unmarinated Wagyu cuts: so tender, fatty and melt in your mouth delicious! I loved every cut and enjoyed pairing it with the bread soaked in the Wagyu meat fat renderings Marinated Wagyu cuts: flavorful and sweet! These come in a close second to the unmarinated cuts for me. I enjoyed wrapping these in the lettuce with a bit of the scallion salad.Birthday chocolate dessert: I wasn't expecting a birthday dessert! The dessert seemed to be a frozen mousse in the shape of a cloud. This was rich, chocolaty and delicious This was a wonderful experience! This meal was pretty rich so I'll probs be coming here for only special occasions.

Been wanting to try this AYCE bbq spot in the city for a while now! We were seated in a private booth/stall which we really liked. The interior is sleek & minimal throughout. Their servers are very attentive and polite. Their A5 wagyu quality is very fresh and buttery! It definitely gets fatty even after the first round of non-marinated but for the price of wagyu, I think $159 pre-fixe is pretty worth it. The marinated meats are so mediocre, it takes away from the quality of the meat and it's a bit over-marinated. I really enjoyed their side salad & scallion salad, all their veggies were very fresh. I would NOT recommend the sot-bap. The rice is so bland, and it tasted grainy. The uni portion is also so small that it disappears. It was so overpriced considering how disappointing it was. Overall, I'd definitely recommend for wagyu lovers!

Came here with 2 friends on a Monday evening. We got the omakase, 1 order of Sot-Bap, a cocktail, glass of wine, hot tea, and 3 scoops of ice cream for dessert. After tip and tax, our meal came out to $900 between 3 people. So was this hefty price tag worth it?Yes for the omakase. At $159 a person, the quality of the meat was definitely there. It is fatty for sure, so we ended up getting full pretty quickly. We did 1 "encore" round which is essentially getting to order again, but you are not able to choose the cut - only your preference between leaner cuts, fattier cuts, or mixed. We went with leaner cuts. Your meal comes with spicy scallion, a side of kimchi, and lettuce. There's also red wine salt, truffle salt, Sam jang, and wasabi to pair with your meats. The uni & truffle sot bap was actually really mid for us. There's tons of reviews raving about it here but at $130 it was disappointing :/ if I was to go again, I'd probably skip on the rice and just order the side of uni instead. For dessert we got the shiso ice cream & the hojicha ice cream. The shiso was more of an icy consistency and almost had an apple flavor to it. Super refreshing and a great way to end the meal. Hojicha ice cream had creamier with a wonderful roasted tea flavor.I love the booths they have which made the meal feel super private and intimate. We were also celebrating our friends birthday & they surprised us with a chocolate mousse dessert which was very sweet.

**YES - IT IS $159**Arguably the best meal and experience I have had this year, on one of the final weeks of the year. We have been to other KBB type places before - but this was way more intimate - with your own staff concentrated on you and your experience. We went with the wagyu tasting and AYCE package, adding cheese as well. The staff was great - explaining the different cuts, discussing the preparation, and providing any info we needed. They start you with bunchan - salads, kimchi, and I added a small bowl of white rice. The meat was succulent and really just melted. I'm not a fan of that overused phrase but here - wow it's on the nose. Meat was great, the marinated meat was even better and for the AYCE we were able to do another round of each. Great experience - I would say get here before some influencer finds it and makes it so you can't get a table for months.

The quality of meat is really good! There was a mixture of fatty and lean cuts. Also, they come with sides like salad, scallion salad and kimchi. Here is the order of cuts you will be getting with the AYCE option: (* is our favorite) 1 filet mignon2 flat iron*3 shoulder (too chewy, did not enjoy)4 butt*5 top sirloin*6 lower 7 middle*8 upper*9 rib cap*10 marinated short rib*You have a 90 minute time limit but they are cooking for you. You are only allowed 2 meat choices per round and they pretty much stop you around 6 rounds. After you eat the chef's choice, you get to choose your next cuts of meat. They only allow you to choose 2 cuts per round and the marinated meat counts as its own round. Within the 90 minutes, you are pretty much able to eat 6 rounds max. It says all you can eat but since they are cooking for you, they space out the timing and cap you. We could still eat more so we tried to order another round of marinated meat during last call along with 2 other cuts of meat but they did not allow us. They said it was because it would go over the time. Service is excellent but a little slow.Overall, the quality of the meat is great and I'm glad I tried this restaurant! It was a great place to celebrate my partner's birthday. Unfortunately, I would not come back because it really isn't "AYCE" wagyu as they advertise

If you're looking for high quality AYCE wagyu kbbq, HYUN is for you! The restaurant has a very modern, sleek, minimalist design that creates that high end atmosphere you'd expect, especially if you're shelling out $150+ per person for a meal. I'll start by saying that the wagyu they serve is absolutely delicious - so tender and melts in your mouth, as it should. What I wasn't expecting was to get tired of the wagyu so quickly during dinner. In theory, wagyu-only cuts seemed like something I would enjoy. But in reality, the fattiness kind of gets to you...and gets to the point where you wish you could balance it out with other cuts of meat. So honestly, the AYCE concept was not worth it for me, personally - I definitely did not eat as much as I was expecting (and hoping)! It's still quite a unique experience though, so would recommend trying it out at least once.

Fantastic ambience, great quality meats, attentive service! I really liked the privacy of the seats we were at. The side dishes were really refreshing accompaniments to the fatty beef. Round 2 was the fattiest cuts of beef. I liked the leaner cuts of round 1 and 3, which is my personal preference. I really liked the flatiron cut and glad I reloaded on that twice! I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking to eat high quality wagyu beef with good ambience and fantastic service.
