My first time here and it was definitely worth the visit. It's a pretty high end place but the decor is amazing and the food was delicious. Service was very gracious. There's a check in counter with cost check at the entrance. There's a huge bar space to the right but I don't believe that was open for lunch. The dining area is nicely laid out with very high ceilings. Everyone we interacted with was very polite and courteous. The food was delicious and came out timely and not all at once. The den den noodles were delicious.

I always visit Hutong for happy hour with one of my home girls since she works across the street. FYI 4,5 trains are close by. I would say that we're regulars at this point. I've only sat at the bar but in my opinion, that's where the vibe is! Our bartenders Fernando and Kiki were VIPs for sure! Super friendly, welcoming and keeps great conversation. The manager also came through with the tunessss toward the end of the night! The live music is also always a hit. The food is always on point! The prawn rolls are my favorite but we tried the duck and shrimp fried rice for dinner last night and literally chef's kiss. I'm a saucy girl so of course I threw all the sauces on everything and it really made the dishes pop! The drinks are also very well made. They really put their neck, back and foot in them! My friend got the comfortably numb and Kiki made me a special drink - cucumber, gin and vodka. Very cute, very refreshing! I've been gatekeeping for a while but I'm ready to share my favorite place with yall. I definitely recommend!

I've been coming here for years with my friends as part of an annual Chinese New Year tradition, but this year was somewhat of a letdown. I don't think we'll be back.First off, charging $8 for a bowl of plain white rice--especially when it's dry jasmine rice rather than a fluffy, premium variety--is absurd. I wouldn't mind the upcharge if it were the best grains of rice I'd ever tasted. It was not.Our waiter also forgot to mention that one of the dishes we ordered had run out until we asked about it halfway through our meal. Yet, the item was still added to our bill, and we had to request its removal since we never got it. Here's my issue with this. If you're positioning yourself as an upscale Chinese restaurant, the service should reflect that of the price. If the dish had run out without notifying us earlier, they should have offered something for the inconvenience or, at the very least, been attentive enough to have taken it off our bill without asking. The rest of the food was fine, but portions were small, and the flavors were average. The ratio of dried chili to protein was completely off. Both the spiced chicken and branzino were buried under so many dried chilies that we had to dig to find the food. It's normal, essential in fact, to have dried chilies in these dishes, but not to the point where the dish is mostly chilies with bits of meat. The flaming Peking duck is fun and all, but the slicing was atrocious. The pieces were hacked into uneven, mismatched chunks. We've ordered the duck for years, and this is the first time the quality has noticeably declined. The restaurant has become more smoke and mirrors than anything else. There are many other Chinese restaurants in the city more deserving of patronage.

Ambiance is great for a date night, drinks are decent, but only the duck is worth having here. All the other dishes are not authentic and don't taste like what you would expect. Staff does not respect Resy reservations as well (asked for dining area but put in the lounge where it is very loud with music)FOOD:Half Peking Duck (8/10): Very decent Peking duck and comes with an additional serving of the meat stir fried with beans and served with lettuce wraps. There are wayyyy too little pancakes provided though and they upcharge you for refillsSpicy radish salad (5/10): Not very flavorful and expensiveDan dan noodles (1/10): This was probably the most disappointing. It's not dan dan noodles, it's boiled noodles with oyster sauce

Note: This review is for their RW menu. I have heard the duck and dim sum are better than this by comparison.I was at this fancy Chinese spot with a hodgepodge of fancy dishes from across China earlier in the evening. The space is very nice being fancier than most of the Chinese restaurants in the city among other spots and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The food overall was fine but I can't help but think that the courses served here for RW aren't fully representative of how good the food can be here as the majority of dishes were just okay as they lacked some spice and salt. They gave us some bowls of soy sauce, chili oil (alright flavors but not enough smokiness,) and some I believe spiced douchi/fermented black beans which was a nice touch. The menu began with the Chef's Dim Sum Selection/点心精选 which was the best bite of the night. I have heard the dim sum is pricey but unique and excellent and this was a good sample. This consisted of two large dumplings; a green colored vegetable one and an orange colored seafood one which came topped of caviar. Both has soft thin skin with the latter being better with a good amount of flavor from the bouncy shrimp and scallop. The vegetable one was good quality though I wouldn't have minded some chives or some other similar type of vegetable to enhance the flavor. Both had nice thin wrappers and plump filling and I presume a meal of two of their fancy dim sum would have cost the same as the RW menu and probably would have tasted better. For the appetizer, I was originally going to go with the Scallop and Prawn Garlic Wontons/海鲜云吞 with sweet chili dressing but I find out it was fried so I avoided it. Instead, I went with the Kou Shui Chicken and Asparagus Salad/口水鸡沙拉. I have had kou shui, or mouth watering/salivating chicken, in plenty of spots (primarily Szechuan of course) but this one was on the very bland end. The salad was more refreshing and lacked the heat and I associate with along with ginger. I was kind of surprised because other photos of just the chicken show it in a lightly red sauce which I expect more for this chicken dish. It was just a mix of nice crunchy vegetables and bland chicken so the textures were nice but it lacked flavor (at least the chili oil helped.) I tried said wontons from someone else and the seafood quality was good though it was a tad bready but I found the flavors overall better even with it being more generic with the almost Thai style sweet chili sauce. The last person appeared to enjoy their Vegetable Hot and Sour Soup/素菜酸辣汤 which was served in a medium sized bowl. For my main dish, I went with the Sanchen Chicken/山城辣子鸡 or wok-fried fillet with dried chilies, star anise, and cumin seeds. This had its high and low points. For the good, the pieces of chicken in there were moist and not nearly as fried as some other spots so you can actually take the chicken and the chili peppers were prepared well with a bit of smokiness not too much bitterness from being overcooked. On the other hand, this lacked a lot of the peppercorn and chili I associate with this dish and there was also not that much chicken in the dish. It was somewhat good but at least better than the appetizer. I tried the Stir-Fried Tofu with ginger, chili, garlic, and yibin sprout sauce/原汁烧豆腐 which was also on the blander end and the portion size of tofu was laughable. The last two people got the Steamed Cod Fillet/青花椒鱼柳 with pickled bell peppers, chili, black beans, cilantro, ginger and garlic which was tender and flaky which was a tiny portion. I got a little in exchange for a piece of chicken and it was also on the lighter end.For the side dish, we all went with the Chef's Fried Rice/師傅炒饭, or vegetarian fried rice with finely diced pickled vegetables. For listing pickled vegetables, the dish lacked that flavor and was otherwise a very bland fried rice. The rice also lacked any wok hei and there was a bit of egg bt not much. Outside of the "fresher" tasting oil, this was comparable at best to a Chinese takeout spot and that's not really the comparison this spot is going for as it paled in comparison to most cheap Cantonese spots in the various Chinatowns let alone the actual good fried rice.Dessert was Banoffee/香蕉太妃 or banana cake, dulce de leche, and sable biscuits served with fresh banana & banana gelato which was fine. The banana cake itself was moist and the thin slices of banana were sweet. The ice cream tasted a bit of coffee for whatever reason but it was good. No real complaints especially for a Chinese place which usually only serves ice cream making this the best course. The appetizer was bland, the main dish had a small portion and was alright flavored, and the dessert was good. It might have been $65 but I don't think it was worth it even at that price. I could get better bigger portions at the nearby Land of Plenty which isn't saying much. Pretty spot but a low 3 at the most.

Classic elevated Chinese restaurant!A Michelin Star restaurant in Hong Kong,However they do not have star here. It's like another version of Mr. Chow here.Very cute and classic interior, while you can see many dinners here from office around the neighborhood.Fine dinning service!Very yummy and cute cocktails!Yummy duck, while they cut the duck in front of you, for the traditional Peking duck and pancakes and they will give you the 2nd dish from the duck meat inside.Price is ok based on the Venue and location here. It's not fair to review bad reviews because of the price point of this place while they forgot this place is not your traditional go-to Chinese food.Good for date night, elegant girls night out, business dinner.

The Peking Duck is excellent!I had the Hutong's Duck Package delivered to my home. It consists of a Whole Roasted Peking Duck with thin pancakes, sauce, and scallions; Four Seasons Beans, and Duck Fried Rice. The duck had crispy skin and soft, juicy meat...one of the best, out of many Peking Duck's, that I have had...nearly perfect! The sauce was tasty and fresh, as were the vegetables and pancakes. The beans were nicely blistered. The Duck Fried Rice was delicious.Highly recommend the Peking Duck...top notch!

Elevated and modern Chinese food. I enjoyed this meal from start to finish. Not only is the location beautiful but the food is good and the service also. Shoutout to out waitress Joanna and bartender Zeddje. The dim, romantic vibe was what we needed for date night. We chose the emperor dinner set and was pleased. These portions are smaller but a fair sample of everything for the price. Dim Sum (4/5) Spring Roll (4/5) - Unique texture, fresh and tasty. Cod Fillet (5/5) Tasty sauce Kung Po Prawns (5/5) - Spicy & FlavorfulFried rice (4/5)Tres Leches (4/5) Interesting spin, nice coconut combination.

In a Word, AMAZING! Is a restaurant experience with "the" 5 star combination. Very cozy & beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food and drink options as well as service. The host Joana, who was kindly nice to squeeze my husband and myself with no reservation, was very attentive to our seating request and accommodated us immediately. The drinks were top-tier! Our bartender for the night was Fernando. He served the best drinks to our likings. I asked for a spicy mezcal margarita, and he did not fail to please me!! The food was incredibly delicious, we had prawn rolls, seafood fried rice the Ma La beef and let me tell you I will definitely come again for these again. What made my experience even better, was the live music with the low lights and cozy seatings! It was such an ideal romantic night I would recommend to anyone!
