Hunan Delight is another Asian restaurant that I've been eating from for decades- very infrequently but still...Today I pulled up for the takeout, lunch special. Very tasty, tender beef and broccoli. My broccoli was really close to being soggy but I guess the cook got it out of the wok just in time. Fried rice was bland and a bit dried out. The wonton soup was delicious but only two soup dumplings though???As far as cost, Hunan Delight is a deal. I'm just gonna make sure to be more specific now on, about how I like my food prepared.

Shopping at Trader Joe's can be exhausting thus what to do? Replenish your energy! With... Chinese food!I'm always looking for new places to try thus I Yelped Chinese restaurants that were a hop skip and a jump away from Gold Street. Gotta map those hunger quest folks in advance. Even my days off have an agenda these days! Lol!Additionally, I scope out eateries that gave Lunch Specials and of course Hunan Delight offers a nice variety from faves like Sesame Chicken to Mixed Veggies with Chicken or Shrimp. The specials come with choice of rice and soup( egg drop, wonton or hot and sour). I mixed it up a bit.. I really wanted an egg roll and haven't had one in quite some time.Thus, I ordered a bit off: egg roll and mixed vegetables with baby shrimp. I took the wonton soup to go.The restaurant was empty thus my food came out quick:; I really wanted egg roll first then my main but both came out at once which I have to be honest, it shouldn't. ( 1 star chopped due to this). Servers need to politely ask does diner want it all at once or space between.The shrimp and mixed veggies was delicious and plentiful in both shrimp and veggies. I loved it.The egg roll when I got to it @30 minutes later was lukewarm but really good.The size of dining room is spacious but a bit dated.The service is courteous and sweet.I definite recommend Hunan Delight for a nice long lunch and it's so close to 5th Avenue shopping area thus walking off lunch is highly recommended.

This place saved the day Christmas Eve when my brother decided to cancel our Christmas plans the morning of. The place was packed that day but luckily we managed to snag a table. They were a bit overwhelmed and understaffed so we made sure to make our ordering quick and easy. Everything we order was worth it. The General Tso's chicken and Sweet and Sour pork are definitely worth trying. Staff was kind. Food came out hot and quickly. Definitely swing by if ever you're in the Park slope area.

The last few rep visits to this place have been lackluster to say in the least. And the beginning of the pandemic the food still had the same flavor and quality, but now not so much. I don't know whether they change shifts or just because they have reduced their operation significantly, it seems they've let quality slide. The shrimp fried rice no longer has any flavor and the amount and quality of ingredients also have dissipated. I was chewing and found a a hard piece of something in it! You can compare the photos of the rice itself and see a big difference. The veggie chicken, was kind of tough last time, so I didn't bother ordering it.One of my very favorite things they used to make, the vegetarian wonton soup, has hardly any filling, $5 for what? I don't know if I'll be back because it is pretty far drive to only be getting the bare minimum. Only reason I gave 3 stars is the staff is still friendly.

Very fast delivery. Food was pretty good. Had the Spare Ribs, Wonton Soup and an Egg Roll. Ribs were a bit greasy (6 out of 10), soup was fine (7.5 out of 10) and the egg roll was good (8.5 out of 10). Will try some main dishes and rice next time.

Since new owners have taken over this business. The food is very unappetizing. They must never change their cooking oil. Their dishes are oily and on the brown dark side. The ladies in the store are not friendly nor nice. After 4 decades in this neighborhood, I will not be buying any of their dishes. Stay away!

This is the last Chinese food place in what seems like all of Brooklyn that is absolutely fantastic! I come all the way from sheepshead Bay multiple times a month just to get my Chinese food from this place. The chicken and broccoli as well as their chow fun dishes are absolutely delicious and for $18 a piece, you have more than enough food for one person. I usually can't even finish the entire thing and have leftovers for the next day. Staff is quite friendly but it's hit or miss with the English on the telephone when you place an order so what I usually do is have them look up my telephone number and tell them to just make the same orders this way there's no chance of making a mistake. Like I said, there's literally no good Chinese food in sheepshead Bay or midwood or Flatbush or any of the near about areas any longer. Thank God for this place!
