Great reliable spot for quality Szechuan food, at an affordable price!I've come here a few times now for lunch, and they have the best lunch special! $12 for a full dish with many great options to choose from, as well as a soup! I got two different chicken dishes both times I've come, and both were super tasty and also perfectly cooked! The wonton soup was also very delicious! The service is very speedy, and the employees are super attentive! I would definitely come back for dinner sometime to try some other dishes!

Really great for dim sum! The dry pot was delicious and spicy and the usual dim sum dishes were wonderful as well. We stayed for a few hours and the team was generous with their tea and time, letting our table of friends catch up for a few hours while continuing to serve us. Looking forward to returning for dinner sometime!

Stumbled in here for a last minute dinner with my husband and in laws, who are all incredibly discerning and picky about Chinese food. We walked in at 6:00pm to a lot of available tables and got to ordering right away. Clean, not too loud, and staff that are actually Chinese. I have to admit we had our judgements about Chinese food on the UES, but we were wrong to judge - the food was fantastic. Service was a little sassy, which oddly made this feel reassuringly authentic lol. We asked for items to be less spicy and the waitress sassed us with a "you're at a sichuan restaurant what did you expect," in Chinese, to which we even had to laugh - because she's correct hahaWe loved everything we got. - Dry sautéed string beans- Dry pot fish (the star!!! A must get)- Taiwanese three cup chicken - bamboo shoots and Chinese bacon (also very good)- Dan Dan noodles (good but too spicy for us, even at mild) A hidden gem, truly.

Take-out Review OnlyI ordered via Grubhub and the order was ready within 10minutes! I thought that the soup dumplings were amazing in terms of the flavor, softness of the meat, and amount of soup. The filling inside falls apart and is not congealed, which tells me it's a fresh dumpling. I think the skin could be a little thinner.I also ordered the Beef w/ organic mushroom & black pepper. Every single cut of the beef was *extremely* tender and well seasoned. The mushrooms were fresh and the sauce was just right.I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Seriously, I ordered from this place so frequently that I still can't believe the staff was this rude about the wrong item delivered. I placed an order online and selected hot and sour soup for the two lunch special sets. After waiting for an hour, my order was still not delivered, so I called the restaurant and checked in. I was told there was a technical issue and orders placed via yelp were not received by the kitchen. After another 20 to 25 mins, finally the order was delivered, but they gave me the wrong soup. I called the restaurant again, the staff answering my call literally acted like there was nothing he could do and he could only refund $2. When I asked to speak with the manager, he said manager was not there, and when I asked what his name was, he straight HUNG UP on me. I dialed back again and nobody answered the call. I dialed the third time and it went straight to the voice message saying no voicemail is set up.Is avoiding problem the way you handled the issues? WHAT A SHAME!

Lunch was amazing. Very good pricing. Great ambiance and low volume jazz music. I recommend trying it. The only thing they did not have was sweet and sour ___ and mushu. :)

If you are looking for great take out Chinese in the UES, look no further. My wife and I ordered in the wonton soup, soup dumplings, vegetable spring rolls, spicy edamame, sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. The soup was very good, not too salty. Springs rolls were great. It was our first time trying soup dumplings and they were very good. The chicken for both dishes were very tender white meat. The sesame chicken was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The sauce for the chicken and broccoli was delicious. Our only negative was that the spicy edamame was too spicy to where it was inedible. Overall a great spot in the area! We're excited to eat at the restaurant next time.

Half the menu exists in the world of "Classic NY Chinese Takeout"; the other half is authentic Szechuan food. This duality makes it an ideal option for a Chinese restaurant: offering options for both nostalgia to the NY Jews in the area and the Chinese customers who fill up the restaurant. In both respects, the restaurant excels. The Classic NY Chinese dishes are executed very well and do not feel weighed down by excess oil usage or MSG. The Szechuan dishes aren't AS good as the best you can get in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, but it's probably the best you can get in NY.Delivery was wicked fast and prices were incredibly reasonable. Hui is a great place to have around the corner.
