I can't stop thinking about this meal... The fan tuan was perfectly sweet and crunchy, a perfect accompaniment to any meal. The beef noodle soup is to die for, seriously. The flavor and richness of the broth with the homemade noodles and tender beef is seriously one of the best, if not the best, noodle soups I've had in NYC. The flavor palate is the perfect combination without being too salty or rich. The restaurant is very small and best for small groups (specifically 1-2 people) as larger parties may have a longer wait time (don't get me wrong, the wait is worth it). I'm eager to return and try the raddish cake and savory soy milk! The staff are all extremely nice and make this experience even better!

Ho Foods was the perfect place us to walk right up to and grab a table for breakfast. They don't have a ton of seats so we either got lucky or came at the right time!We ordered the breakfast for 2 and I'd say it's the absolute perfect thing to order as you get to try everything for an extremely reasonable price.Everything across the board was simple but done just really really well. The main drink options are soy milk either hot or cold and then sweet/original. We both got the hot sweet soy milk and it was so comforting.Dipping the Yo Tiao in it was a fantastic texture and really fun experience. The Yo Tiao was a fried donut that wasn't sweet and I loved that it wasn't sugary.Fan Tuan in general is always really really good but this one was HUGE. The crueler inside was extremely crispy, this version was really pork floss heavy but still really happy about the whole thing.Scallion pancake with egg was a really good scallion pancake compared to the many I've had. The sauce that came with it was phenomenal. The radish cake I think for me was the star of the show. WOW it was insane, I've never had anything like it before, it was crispy, gooey, sweet, savory. It was everything and the sauce paired perfect with it.All in all I loved this place and it's a place I want to take people in the future because it would be so fun!

One of my favorite Chinese foods is savory soy milk and I've been on the search for my favorite one in the city!Foods:Savory soy milk: It's served spicy with chopped pieces of yo tiao. The soy milk itself has a nice flavor, I haven't had it spicy before but I liked it. It's a pretty big portion too and perfect for a cold day since it's served hot. The pieces of yo tiao were a little too fried and crunchy, I would've appreciated it to be crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.Yo tiao: This was a pretty long yo tiao and perfect for dipping into the savory milk. Cooked perfectly! The servers were so friendly and the food came out quickly. It's a pretty small restaurant that gets very busy so the wait can take a while. I came on a weekend and waited about 45 minutes to get seated, but they have a QR code to scan to hold your place in line on the waitlist.

As someone who never properly had Taiwanese breakfast before, this place definitely hits the spot. It's a small cozy restaurant with very limited seating. I was a party of 2 on a Sunday and waited around 40 minutes until I could get seated. The staff were friendly and very accommodating! I ordered the Savory Soy Milk, Beef Noodle Soup, Fan Tuan, and Scallion Pancake with Egg. My favorite was definitely the Savory Soy Milk. It really hit the spot on a very cold day. It was flavorful with a hint of spice because of the bits of chili oil. I was surprised by the crunchy You Tiao (Deep Fried Dough) instead of it being soft and chewy. It added a nice texture to the meal, but I think I would've preferred it more if it was soft and chewy. Overall, everything I ordered was delicious and I had no complaints. I shared everything we got with a friend and we were so full by the end. I would highly recommend this place and would go for brunch. I really enjoy their breakfast items and would definitely come back again. If you don't want to wait for a seat inside the restaurant, you can take some of their breakfast items to go.

We went on a weekend and there was a waitlist for about 30 minutes. The place was super rustic and very taiwanese street food style. We got the beef noodles and they were super flavorful and delicious. The noodles were nice and chewy and the beef was tender. However it's a but pricy for beef noodles. Overall, pretty good noodles but the wait is really long.

We ordered the 2 ppl beef noodle set for $68. It comes with a cucumber salad, chili wontons, small lu rou fan, and 2 beef noodle soups. The cucumber salad is refreshing but not exactly the same flavour as you would get in Taiwan. Small lu rou fan is good but their version is a little bit too oily for my taste. I saw on the menu that the large lu rou fan is $20, which is ridiculous...I know we're in New York, but give me a break, minced pork is not an expensive type of meat. The beef noodle soup is flavourful and the meat is soft, the best part is the noodles. Both the thin and thick noodles are al dente with a bit of a bite, which I love. Their noodles also tasted very fresh, not sure if they make it in house. Their soy milk is very creamy and flavourful, much better than the ones I've made at home with my soy milk machine. The yo-tiao (crispy fried dough bread that you eat with the soy milk) was done well. However it came at the end of the meal while the soy milk was served at the beginning. People like to dip yo-tiao in the soy milk so it should not have come at the end of the meal - by then ppl might have finished their soy milk or the soy milk has gone cold. This timing doesn't make any sense. We also tried the Dan Bing (Taiwanese egg crepe) and tbh this is not really Dan Bing crepe...the outside was more similar to green onion pancake. The sauce is also not the usual Dan Bing sauce. The spicy wonton is ok, nothing special. The Fantuan (sticky rice ball) has good sticky rice but I can't really judge this bc we didn't get the usual recommended fillings bc one of our party is vegetarian so this Fantuan with just yo-tiao is pretty bland and boring. Unfortunately at our visit our server had dropped a plate of sweet sticky soy sauce on the floor and on my bag. They were very apologetic and tried to wipe it off for me but they didn't get it all off and as I was walking around the city my hands would suddenly feel sticky from the residue, which definitely subtracted from the experience. The employees were all really friendly though. Overall, flavours were pretty good, one of the better and more legitimate Taiwanese flavours in New York. Some items were definitely better than the others. Price is high though. I'll probably come back if I'm really craving Taiwanese food.

Very cute eatery for some traditional Taiwanese foods. I went for dinner and tried the beef noodle soup, lu rou fan, and the scallion pancake. The texture of the noodles were great, and the lu rou fan hit the spot. Even the simple scallion pancake was very impressive, with a sauce that paired so well. Each dish was simple but made with care. I'd love to come back to try the breakfast menu! The staff were extremely friendly, and the food came quickly. They only have a few tables, and it feels very cozy inside.

Solid place to get a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. The place is no frills and service was a little slow, but the food was good! The wait list can get really long and the times aren't super accurate, so just something to keep in mind.We ordered the breakfast set for two and really enjoyed the yo tiao, fan tuan, and savory soy milk. Definitely recommend upgrading one of the soy milks to savory. I also really appreciate that everything can be made vegetarian, which isn't always the case with these kinds of restaurants. One thing to note is some of the portion sides for the other dishes on the menu are small, so just keep that in mind when you order.

I found out about Ho Foods because I was craving Taiwan breakfast with Yo tiao and fan tuan and Ho Foods definitely hit the spot! However the wait for this place, when we arrived was quoting 100+ minutes! Over an hour and a half. I held my tongue and put us on the wait list. We then took a stroll around St. Marks and returned about 40 minutes. We were then told we still have some ways away (about 9 tables ahead). Still I wanted to wait! Eventually at exactly 60 minutes (1 hour) we finally got our table! Tip is to return and wait outside, I think I was pestering the host/server a lot about giving us a table! But thankfully he gave us one quickly! We order all of the specials, the savory soy milk bowl, yo tiao, fan tuan, and the red beef wide noodles soup. My favorite was definitely the fan tuan, it had a crunchy yo tiao in the middle and there was more stuffing than rice (which I was so thrilled to see). I have had other fan tuans where there would be over 70% rice. The yo tiao is my second favorite followed by the savory soy milk. The soy milk actually had a thick consistency, which is different than other savory soy milk I've had. However, I really enjoyed it. My least favorite was the beef wide noodles soup, which we ended up take half home. It had a lot of noddles and the soup was on the salty side. Overall, really love the breakfast options, the yo tiao, fan tuan are the best! Would really hope Ho Foods would expand their menu and cover more Taiwan options.

Tried this spot out bc I saw a TikTok video of this place. There was a 10-15 min wait and the line moved fast. There are two sides of the store each with their own seating. It has a very homey and cozy vibe to it. Their menu was adorable and of course we ordered the sweetened soy milk, the scallion pancake and the "Red Cooked Beef Noodle Soup". The soymilk was refreshing and the noodles were good, I was expecting a different flavor for the broth and it was unique and hearty. The scallion pancake wasn't bad but probably will stick with the noodles next time. I'm curious to check out the breakfast menu next time!
