Went back for a third time with 2 friends who live in Santa Cruz (and have fresh seafood daily), and they were absolutely blown away by the food quality. We booked an upstairs table and were excited to try it, but unfortunately the area was closed so we sat downstairs as always Had some favorites from the first time: 2x of sushi rice, 2x peekytoe crab crepe, 4x scallops and the morcilla pasta- all were excellentWe tried the deconstructed shrimp toast, which was new on the menu and truly excellent. For mains, we ordered the turbot but were given the bass, which was much better! The crispy skin is delicious. yes some kinks to figure out with their service, but our waiter was gracious and kind about the mistake and comped both the bass and 2 desserts.

New spot so I'll give them a break on service. Was forced to wait a good 20 mins to be seated. Checked in with hostess a few times, looked like there was some confusion front of house. Ended up volunteering to sit at the bar just to start eating. Bartender was great and attentive. Appies were pretty good (monkfish, tuna, scallop) but the dried fish (which apparently they are known for) was under seasoned. Would probably go back one more time after they settle in a bit.Food: 6/10Service: 6/10Vibe: 8/10Value: 5/10

The place is clearly run by a seasoned veteran in the industry. Everything from the decor to the service is excellent. The only quip I have is on the turbot I ordered. It feels like that's one of their key points in their menu: dry aged protein with simple presentation concept. It reminds me of how they do things in San Sebastian or Italy or other Mediterranean countries. But what I got instead of a beautifully cooked whole fish with simple seasoning was broken bits of half a fish drowning in sauce. Though everything else was above average, still can't really forgive them for messing up a $120 main dish.

You will be coming here for the vibes and the drinks, but we tried some really great food before the health inspector decided to show right at the start of service on their second night of being open.Luckily they just dropped the amazing Chicken for two on our table just before the kitchen came to a screeching halt, but that means we didn't get to try any of the desserts, which sounded great. Would definitely come back to try those after again getting the Morcilla Spaghetti and Raw Bluefin Tuna.

Sleek, intimate vibes with wine bottles everywhere. We were greeted by a dry-aging fish fridge, which instantly got my husband excited. Ambiance was charming with violet accents, and the wine list was extensive. Service was fantastic. Perfect for sharing dishes with friends as all main dishes are for 2 ppl. As soon as we saw the menu, we wished we'd come with friends since we wanted to order everything on the menu. The small plates were inventive and fun. Highlights included the flaky bread, crispy tender octopus with crunchy chickpeas, and the delicate peekytoe crab crepe. The beef tongue, served on skewers, was tender yet meaty. Next, we had the Morcilla pasta. Though it was tasty, our expectations were sky high after seeing it all over social media and hearing it was our waiter's favorite. The noodle texture was spot on, though a bit salty for my taste. We finished with the stuffed chicken, topped with truffles and fried with ham and cheese in it. The coating wasn't super crispy, as it absorbed the sauce, but we were already feeling greasy so we couldn't eat too much. Still giving this new restaurant 5 stars for its creativity, great intimate vibes, and since we had an amazing time. Don't miss the small cozy Pearl Box lounge upstairs to end the night!

Heroes is well intentioned. Cool interior, lively staff. The food is pricey and does not equal the price tag. Age dried fish is overrated. The wine list is impressive. For a deeper dive check out ifthedevilhadmenopause.com

What a disappointment! After having a great time in the bar upstairs, this restaurant did not meet up to the same standard. I ordered the stuffed chicken that specified it was served with mushrooms and white wine sauce...thats it. Mind you I said at the beginning of the meal that I do not eat PORK due to religious reasons. The chicken arrives and it is not what we expected but still went in to eat it. After a piece and a half I asked one of the servers what was in it. She was also not sure, and came back to tell us 8 min later it was Chicken Cordon Bleu with ham and cheese. I was so shocked as that was not what it said on the menu and they knew my restrictions but clearly forgot or didn't communicate it. I called over the manager and he did not grasp the severity of the situation. In NYC, there are so many Koser, and or Halal eaters who would be so appalled by this. The manager proceeds to still put it on our bill originally because he said we ate a lot of it! We only ate half before we realized it was inedible to us. I know this place is new but WOW!
