We walked in at 6:40pm on a Wednesday night with no reservation and waited about 45mins-1hr. We finally got seated at 7:30pm. The inside is super cute old rustic vibes. Service was great and everyone was very nice and friendly and helpful. Our waiter recommended 2 small plates + 2 large plates for us (2ppl). I LOVED the kimchi pancake with the soft boiled runny egg on top. It was the best thing I've eaten in a while. Absolutely delicious. WOW. The black sesame tofu was such an interesting and unique dish too! I highly recommend trying it out. It was a burst of so many different delicious flavors in my mouth. So good, so flavorful, so worth ordering. Never tasted anything like this before. Surprisingly one of my favorite dishes! The galbi was amazing as always. However, the pork belly was sadly very dry and disappointing:( I might have hyped up the pork belly dish too much for myself but I think I'm just not a big fan of the slow cooked version of pork belly. Don't recommend this dish tho:/ Basically, you must get the kimchi pancake and black sesame tofu when you go!

I've been here for dinner two times over the last seven years, and I never really had that memorable of an experience. But today, I went for lunch, and it was amazing. This was my first time trying one of their boxed sets, and I am so glad that I did. The value for the price is great ($20) and I loved how many side dishes you get, especially the tofu, the potato salad, and the green vegetables.I made a reservation about one week in advance, and I'm glad that I did because when I showed up at 1 PM on Monday, it was so busy. I waited about 10 minutes to get seated and was led to a table in the back of the restaurant. There are plenty of lunch sets available, and I went with the army stew (budae jigae). I left feeling super full, and I even had leftovers to bring back home. The restaurant itself can fit a good amount of people, because it goes pretty far back. The music that played during our meal was my type of music which I loved, but I will say it was a little bit loud so we definitely had to speak a little bit louder to hear each other. I will say the only thing that I would criticize is the fact that one of the bathrooms did not have soap. Otherwise had a lovely meal with nice servers.

My third time coming here and it always hits the spot. I like the cute cafeteria-esque trays filled with various soup, salad and banchans. Make sure to make a reservation on the weekends since this place got super popular over the years! Their weekend brunch menu is different than their weekday lunch menu - but I think the buddae jjigae is still an option.- Fried cod (appetizer): 4/5, not the lightest fish I've had, but it tasted like it was battered with beer (or even soju!?) and the house made tartar sauce brought a unique taste- Chicken Farra Risotto: 5/5, super creamy and rich and the risotto was cooked perfectly. It deceptively had some heat to it too- Gosari pasta: 3/5, the pasta was a little overcooked and overall a tad too salty- Han Horchata: 5/5, delicious bev- not too watered down, and not too overpowered with alc- Amazing Grape: 3.5/5, more ice than drink, but it tasted refreshingEspecially if you're coming from Penn station- it's just a quick 10 min walk away and it's worth a visit

Came here for weekend brunch and the food was amazing. Their brunch sets have classic korean dishes and korean dishes with a twist. I got the kimchi shakshuka with short ribs which was the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and hearty. It came with fried tofu on the side, which was perfect for dipping, and a good amount of short ribs included in the dish. Each set came with an assortment of side dishes and the perfect portion sizes for a very filling meal. We all left super stuffed but extremely satisfied with the delicious flavors. This spot was very cozy and packed (but not to the point of being on top of your neighbors) and the servers were prompt in taking our orders and refilling our water.I would definitely come again to try more of their menu items. What a great spot at a mid-range price point to go with friends, family, or on a date.

Came back and was sadly disappointed. For cocktails, I got the lychee martini and it was way too sweet so I barely had any of it. As for food, I ordered some of my favorites, including the fried chicken, seafood pancake, and pork belly, all of which were fine but disappointing compared to most places. I especially didn't like the pajun which had poor texture and lacked flavor in my mind (though my husband didn't mind it). The boiled dumplings weren't fine / pretty average.Over all, sadly wouldn't return given how tough the competition is for Korean food in NYC.

Simple food are the best!! If you want simple but delicious food this is the spot to go! Location: It is located around Koreatown. You will see the restaurant because of it's sign outside. The indoor is huge, sign in and you will be seated. Reservation is required but I walk in by myself.Service: I felt like I was rushed when I was eating. He asked me 3 times if I'm done. I'm not really sure if they needed my seat because I was by myself. But I finished my food in 15 mins because I felt rushed. Food: During lunch break they have Bapsang which is like a combo meal. You can also order appetizers, drinks and desserts.GRILLED ATKA MACKEREL: so it was very simple dish. I felt like they fried the mackerel and not grilled because it is crispy as if it was fried. I love it with the squeeze of lemon. The side dishes were amazing. The tofu with black sesame sauce was good. Kimchi was good too.Price rating: 7/10 price range. I paid $24 plus tip for the whole meal. I will definitely come back here to try the other dishes. Could have been 5 stars but I felt rushed.

I've always wanted to try this place so i finally snagged a reservation on Resy for a Saturday brunch. It's a super popular restaurant so by 12:30pm, all the tables were filled. The food comes out amazingly fast but I wished they timed it better. The entrees came shortly after the appetizer so we couldn't enjoy/focus on our appetizer. We ordered the fried fish cod as our appetizer and the fried batter was so thin and airy. The cod was also really juicy. For entrees, we ordered the beef bulgogi and the spicy salmon with fish roe bibimbap. The beef bulgogi was nothing special but I loveeeed the bibimbap. Definitely order that!Next time I would love to check out their dinner menu because I think the options are slightly better than their brunch menu. Also there were so many people waiting for a table that the staff kept glancing at us so I felt that we were rushed out. We were in and out of the restaurant within an hour.

Walk by this restaurant all the time in Ktown and right next door to the phenomenal Take 31. Had reservations for 3 at 5pm. Sat down shortly after opening around 5:05pm but place in seats directly under the heater that we had to request to move elsewhere which they were kind enough to do!We ordered 4 dishes outside of the complimentary banchan (which was solid!)-- fried cod, black sesame tofu, galbijim hot pot, and bossam.Standouts were the fried cod and black sesame tofu. Cod was super hot, fried perfectly and served with a great tartar sauce! The black sesame tofu would be my favorite dish of the night. Deep umami sesame flavor that wasn't too overpowering, along with crunchy strips on top that paired nicely with the soft/cold tofu. Would highly recommend this dish! The galbijim was super refreshing and packed with a bunch of different types of mushrooms. The soup flavor was sweet, but not too sweet. Definitely a great dish if you're trying to deal with a hangover I'd pass on the bossam, the meat was a bit tough and the flavors didn't standout as much at other bossams.Staff were nice and you'll definitely leave this restaurant satisfied and full. I'd give this place a go if you're considering it.

We loved our dinner! Everything was really tasty and the service was exceptional. We had some great soju to get the meal rolling with a complementary platter of kimchi and other delights. We loved the tofu, the cod and the kimchi pancake. Also had the garlic chicken and the pork belly. The only item we did not love was the vege bibimbap. All in all we loved our experience and will definitely visit again to try more of the menu.
