Hay Hay Roasted

What a great meal. I prdered the roast pork chow fun, honey roasted pork, beef with tomatoes and the spring rolls! Everything was excellent. I would order that exact meal again! The standouts to me were the chow fun and especially the honey roasted pork (I bought a pound). The food is super tasty, big portions and incredibly fresh. I highly recommend! PS Great staff to help you order and package it up! PPS The restaurant is superclean with places to sit!

I generally understand now what the overall hype is about this location for Roast meats. Full disclaimer, I found this on Too Good to Go and for a great deal there we tried a mystery bag which contained things I have not tried before and was not that aware of when it came to provincial Chinese meats. The cha siu was lean but was coupled with a soy marinated pork belly over rice with a side of napa cabbage. Curry fish balls were nice snack food, two sticks. And finally two glutinous rice with minced pork filling in lotus leaves. Great deal for $5.99.My one downer is that while it is nice that provide the chicken feet when ordering meat by the pound, the butcher needs to cut in smaller pieces - it barely fit the container.

If you're looking for a good bbq meats spot, look no further. Hay hay has a good selection of meats from roast duck, scallion chicken, roast pig, roast pork, cuttlefish, and the list goes on.When coming in for lunch, expect a long line. I often call ahead to place the order so I can walk right in to grab my food. There is counter seating inside if you're looking to sit down for a quick bite.My go-to is the two meats with roast duck and roast pig on rice noodles over soup. Their soup broth is so rich and tasty, really hits the spot on a cold winter day. Their beef brisket with daikon over rice is also really good. Be sure to pair your meal with one of their cold HK milk teas in a bag!Cash only! Unless you place an order for pick up through Uber eats.

They were open on MLK holiday. A lot of places were closed that day. Staffs are friendly. They speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. However, they only accept cash. They have roast meat. I ordered crispy pork. They ask how you like your meat: either lean or fatty. I usually go with half & half. They have seats, you can enjoy your meal inside. CASH ONLY.This restaurant is misleading in what they offer. We got the A1 menu item (hand pulled duck bun). This was very average to below average. First, it is not "hand pulled." They take duck out of a bag and use tongs and a torch to heat it up. The amount of meat is really small and not worth the price. They also load it up on cucumber and lettuce and drown it in sauce. It becomes extremely messy. Again, this is just fine but not what was expected. I don't recommend this spot.

Been meaning to try Hay Hay for years now and finally made it there! Great, filling, cheap eats in chinatown. Cash only joint so keep in mind when planning to go.I ordered a 3 meat selection to share with a few others. We were on a self-curated chinatown food tour so this was plenty for us. Would say the crowd favorite was the BBQ honey pork (middle meat in the picture). Duck was good too but you have to be mindful of the bones (ours was more bone than meat).

Ambiance - small shop, offers chairs for customer to sit and eat along the wallService - order by the counter, 1 lady took our order and another that packed our order Food - the 3 selection over rice was super worth, packed with rice + veggies and 3 kinds of meat of your choice (I got the roast duck, roast pork, and char siu). The meat was tender & well marinated!

I absolutely love the duck here! It is one of the best duck I've had in a hot minute. I would say it is 4/5 stars since the super limited space, but that is also to be expected. It is super crowded, so be prepared to wait a bit, and there is also super limited seating so it might be best to take it to go and eat elsewhere.The portions for everything we ordered were quite generous, and we even had quite a bit left over. Every dish we got was delicious. The duck was just tender and super juicy. The roasted pork was absolutely succulent, and even the eggplant stir fry was delicious.

Yum!! Tasty Cantonese bbq meat spot for affordable prices. My friend and I got the combo meat over rice. It comes with a lot of rice and only qualm is that I wish there was more meat. But for $11.75 it was a hard price to beat. The pork and duck were absolutely delicious. Not much place to sit but no complaints here.

Cash only, but absolutely delicious! I had a huge craving for cantonese bbq and this was the spot that kept getting recommended. We came at 3pm on a weekend and there were still so many people. Definitely speaks to the popularity of the place.I got the two item combo over rice with crispy roast pig and bbq pork. It also comes with a generous amount of cabbage. The portion here was huge, and definitely can last you multiple meals if you're not super hungry. I loved the crispy skin of the roast pork belly - it was perfection. The bbq pork was also super delicious, especially the fattier pieces that soaked up more sauce.Definitely satisfies the catonese bbq fix! I would come back again :)
