A lovely couple friend introduced us to Hawksmoor's January $25 Steak & Side lunch deal--which in these inflationary times is next to free. So we arrived on the last Saturday of the month and feasted on what rich white people have been eating since the dawn of time (I imagine). The 10oz Rump steak was perfectly cooked, if a bit small. I enjoyed that my Caesar Salad had actual anchovies, a rarity these days considering that's what the original recipe had. Our Beef Fat Fries were as thick and starchy as steak frites should be. If you're not feeling steak, the Hawksmoor Cheeseburger is appropriately juicy and cheesy. The Mushrooms Diane make a nice, garlicky side, as does the tangy Boston Lettuce & Herb Salad. For desserts, we opted for almost all of them:- Molten Chocolate Cake: A decadent, moist classic with a nice addition of cassis -sorbet, candied hazelnuts and cassis jam- Sticky Toffee Pudding: My personal favorite, esp. with the accompanying milk ice cream- Rum Bread & Butter Pudding: For bread pudding lovers, this ethanol-infused delight should hit all the notes- Peanut Butter Louis: A gorgeous ode to peanut butter but overwhelmingly sweet after a while (though TBF, they give you a huge piece, so kudos for that)- Maple Custard Tart: We got this gratis, apparently as an apology for the somewhat slow service due to the mad lunch crowd. It was a delicious ode to my home country's national flag, and the accompanying maple and crème fraîche ice cream was just perfectI don't chase red meat, so I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here--but when next Jan rolls around (and if the lunch deal still exists), I'd definitely make an exception!

If you're dying to go, as I was, go soon. Because it will absolutely be closed in short order. They gave a master class on what to do if you don't give a fuck. From hostess, to bar staff, to waitress, to -- I assume chef -- they appreciated the opportunity to give us the bare minimum. Il start with the dry steak with no crust at all. If something could sum up the multiple failures it would be that, in response to them forgetting an item we ordered, I told the waitress when walking out, you forgot this item but at least it wasn't on the bill. And she responded with ok that's great. Lol joke of a place at the price point they charge. Another example of someone spending a ton of money on everything and not training their staff, including the kitchen. Because again, did I mention the $180 ribeye has zero crust and was dry and the $139 filet was dry as cardboard. Tho we did love the scallops tbh. They were awesome.

Two stars for the appetizer. There's bad service, and then there's the kind that makes you wonder if the staff actively resents your existence. As a business owner, I understand the importance of hospitality--something this place treats as an afterthought, if not an outright joke. For a major birthday celebration, I expected a meal worth remembering. What I got instead was a performance in neglect and contempt. The first steak--ordered medium rare--arrived so burnt it could have been mistaken for a lump of coal. A mistake, I thought. It happens. The replacement? A disgrace. Not only was it still undercooked, but 75% of it was pure fat--a lazy, careless effort that felt like an insult rather than a correction.Drink orders? Botched, multiple times. Signaling the waitress? Met with dramatic eye rolls, as if basic service was beneath her. After the final steak disaster, we made it clear: don't take it off the bill, but do tell the chef this is unacceptable. No apology, no accountability--just an unspoken "deal with it" attitude from a place that clearly confuses arrogance with excellence. Some restaurants serve disappointment. This one serves it with a sneer, an overcooked steak, and a side of contempt.

Ambience and food are unmatched at Hawksmoor. Such a sexy vibe that meets upscale steakhouse feel!Trust me here. Get steaks by the oz. For the table instead of your own. Such a better experience. We got a 32 oz. Rib chop and a 32 oz. Porterhouse. Both were perfect. If you do not get the beef fat fries you are WRONG! They are a non negotiable side. Definitely recommend this restaurant for all reasons

The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked. The presentation was beautiful with the shells attached to the plate courtesy of a small dollop of mashed potatoes. The Steaks were perfectly cooked. The steak Diane was cooked a perfect medium smothered in their sauce which was a little strong for me but thoroughly enjoyed by my girlfriend (and that was her meal :)). My NY Strip was perfectly cooked medium rare with great beefy flavors. The beef and bacon gravy was surprisingly delicious - it would have been nice if the bread was hotter but the flavor was perfect. Our drinks were wonderful. Service was fantastic with both enthusiasm and speed. The ambience at Hawksmoor is unbelievable with the fine architecture of their dining room. Highly encourage those looking for a special meal to stop by or potentially sit at the bar for a slightly different albeit still high-end experience.

And we're back!! My fiancé and I found a babysitter on a random night so we said "let's go back!" We were quickly sat in the bar area and ordered one B.E.E.F burger (not on the menu) and one lobster roll. Lucky me nabbed the last lobster roll of the night and it was definitely worth it!!The burger was perfection! Our server told us how the chef is from the UK and when he was younger he came to the U.S., had McDonalds, and fell in love. Hence, this take on the Big Mac as well as the chef's own version of hash browns that were on the bar menu as well.Redemption was worth it! 10/10 and we will be back.

If you like steak this place is worth checking out. Came here on a Friday night with an early reservation for two & by the time we left (~8:30pm) it was packed. Restaurant is very spacious and would be good for large groups. Ambiance is nice without being stuffy, has some of that old school steakhouse charm, but also feels modern. Would be good for a date night, celebration, business dinner, or just a good meal!I ordered the below for two people:-Shrimp Cocktail: comes with 5 large pieces of shrimp. Kind of wish it was just the traditional cocktail sauce, but still enjoyed this. -10 oz Filet: cooked perfectly. It was under seasoned, but the meat itself was soooo tender. Almost melts in your mouth. Also had a side of the peppercorn sauce, which I enjoyed. -Beef Fat Fries: reminded me of McDonald's fries (in the best way). -Macaroni & Cheese: cheesy, delicious. Portion is perfect for 2-3 people, would consider ordering more if there are 4+ people. -Mushrooms Diane: if you like mushrooms, hard to go wrong. Creamy & rich. Portion is perfect for 2-3 people, would consider ordering more if there are 4+ people.-Molten Chocolate Cake: this was the most disappointing & would skip. There was too much going on & it was very salty.

Came for lunch for the $25 steak and side deal. Steak was perfectly cooked. Got the fries and the side of spinach -- both excellent. Really absolutely nothing to complain about as far as the food goes and a fabulous value. Atmosphere, however, was terrible. We waited about 30 minutes to sit and an additional 30 minutes to get our food and the place was overrun with small children. Somewhat more expected around lunch I suppose, but it definitely did not feel like an upscale steak restaurant. The room is extremely large with high ceilings which would normally give a grand feel, but it just ended up feeling like we were eating in a banquet hall, and an extremely cold banquet hall at that (it probably is very difficult to heat with the ceilings that high.) I ended up wearing my scarf throughout the entire meal. So, it's fine, but not sure I'd run back.

My friend Erin lives in the city and considers Hawksmoor her favorite steakhouse. I definitely had to try it out after hearing that. The restaurant was very classy and dimly lit. They sure knew how to concoct an outstanding dirty martini (big plus). We split a steak, french fries, and a salad. The cook and flavor of steak tasted incredible. Everything was flawless besides our servers unpleasant attitude. She was very abrupt, impatient and rolling her eyes at us every chance she got. She did not even try to hide her pure disdain for our table. All I know is they know how to make a mean steak, and to avoid that server next time I visit.

Food was fine. The shrimp and Mac and cheese were better than the steak. The steak was not bad but was just good. The bar made me an off menu drink that I always order and it was the highlight of the meal (mezcal last word w/ red wine float). The main let down was the service. My server and her co-worker talked about work drama the entire time and had me and tables beside me waiting on food that was sitting at the pass several times. They just stood at the POS chatting it up and never checked on us. It was the talk of the two tables beside me. We had to "interrupt" them to check on our order. It was terrible service. I've sent messages to the restaurant but no response. It is a beautiful space, but too bad the food is just good and the service is not worthy of an establishment at that price point. The drinks got them up to 3 stars. For steak go to one of the many other NYC famous stops.
