The wait for Cho Dang Gol was too long so we wandered in here by chance and were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. The food was piping hot and delicious! The portions were large enough that we needed to go boxes for our leftovers. The environment was lively and comforting, I'd come back here in a heartbeat!

Cuisine: 3Service: 6Decor: 6Value: 6Overall: 4What ever happened to this restaurant that's been around since my college days? Though I have not been back in likely 20 years, I never thought the quality would have gone down so much. Or maybe my taste buds have evolved to a point that their food is just below average nowadays compared to its current competition. My guess is a little bit of both. The seafood pancake was crispy but also doughy, still one of the better items of the night. The best was probably the Grilled Mackerel, which looked dry but tasted alright. Meanwhile, the Kimchi Jigae with Beef and Seafood Soondubu were both extremely bland. Lastly, definitely skip the overcooked Sautéed Spicy Squid. Not one item was truly above average, including the banchan. With long lines next door at Cho Dang, they are certainly catching some of its patrons who don't want to wait. That's why we ended up eating here this past weekend, but unlikely again in the future. However, this restaurant will always astay as a fond memory for me, where my friends and I would go before/after singing at Duet Karaoke upstairs.

This used to be my go to delivery restaurant when I used to live in Hell's Kitchen which I always enjoyed, esp the budae jjigae. Tonight was the first time I dined in person, and the restaurant is very warm and cozy. Went with a large group since Cho Dang Gol had an extremely long wait time. We were able to grab a table for 11 right away, and the servers were attentive and very friendly. We all ordered different items but I got the ojinguh gob dol (spicy stir fried squid with rice in a hot stone bowl) which was tasty and def recommend. Everyone was satisfied with their order and we all drank a couple of bottles of makgeolli that paired very well with our entrees. If you want a warm drink other than tap water, you can ask for hot barley tea along with banchan refills (which are both free).

I got Jhim Sam Gyb Sal and the sliced cabbage was overly salty. I also found a tiny dead gnat in one of the slices of cabbage. Soups seem like a safer option here. I'll overlook the bad only because Dino from Seventeen ate right next to me.

This restaurant was delicious!!The tofu soup was my friend's order, so her opinion was that it tasted very good. Initially she wasn't sure what to do since the powder was on top but she had fun mixing it in and seeing the consistency change.I had ordered the bibimbap. It was delicious. First time trying a bibimbap but I loved that it came with a little bit of everything so when it was mixed together it would blend flavors. The bulgogi was juicy and the veggies were perfectly sautéd.The fried chicken was good but I wouldn't order again. It wasn't anything that was mouth watering, just regular fried chicken. Was not bad but not something I would consider getting again.

Service was much better this time, maybe cuz it was pretty empty when we went. Anyway, we got kimchi cheese fried rice which you gotta mix &/transfer immediately to the plates unless you wanna eat burnt food. If you like your food burnt, up to you. It was too spicy for me but decent otherwise. The bibimbap was decent as well. The server was kind enough to explain you gotta dump the rice on top, then put gochujang & mix, although I already knew that. They have a gochujang bottle on the side, thank God. Be careful when squeezing the bottle cuz I accidentally squeezed out too much the 2nd time cuz I didn't squeeze hard enough the 1st time. I don't think the haemuljeon contains any haemul besides squid but it's still crispy & decent with the super salty soy sauce. For banchan, they gave us mushroom, kelp, raw or slightly boiled cabbage with stuff on top (not kimchi), kimchi, & tteokbokki. I liked everything except the cabbage raw/boiled cabbage that came in the brown sauce with scallion, onion, & the other stuff on top. It smelled & tasted like raw cabbage, so I couldn't stand it. I can stand kimchi since it doesn't smell or taste like raw cabbage , even tho it's too spicy. The tteokbokki is so good but so spicy. How'd they make the kelp taste so good? It wasn't even bitter.

It is one of the first time I entered a place without checking the reviews online. I had a good experience. The menu proposes a large choices of Korean meals and Combo. I chose the bibimbap with tofu and vegetable and kimchi. It was really good and hot as I like it !The banchan were fine to me. The service was quick, we did not wait long to order and to be served! It's a nice place to stop for a quick lunch with high expectations on the place and ambiance. But the food is good

Hanbat is the number 1 Korean restaurant in Korea Town. It is authentic and also the only restaurant in Korea Town to offer seaweed soup. The food and the service is very consistent.

I go here quite a bit with my partner, especially during the summer because their cold noodles are pretty good. Last time I went I got the spicy pork over rice. It came in a sizzling stone pot. The meat was well marinated and the rice got a little crispy from the stone pot. I really enjoyed the texture that the crispy rice added.

Came here after we couldn't get seating at Cho Dang Gol. Food is overpriced and definitely does not taste authentic. For the price of what we paid for, it was not worth the quality. Service also wasn't really anything to write home about either.
