Location- 11 W 51st St, New York City, NY 10019, USAService: super accommodating.Food: from the starter tea, the best taste for me (not that strong), thin sliced salmon has a savory sauce w all the spices, teriyaki salmon was also unique to me with the veggies on the side. But the tempura udon was great. Flavorful and perfect for the weather. Well cooked udon and veggies. Sides were fried broccoli, sweat potatoes and edamame. Paid 68bucks minus the tip. Ambiance: clean and spacious. Not loud and def not crowded.

My go to sushi place during the weekdays! Be careful as it gets PACKED for lunch on the weekdays. For 24$ you can get a 7 piece sushi and one roll set. I switch to spicy tuna which is 1.5$ extra. Comes with a soup or salad as well. For manhattan prices, this is a steal!!

For where it is located and quality of food, Hama definitely takes the cake for good value! If you're nearby and need some good Japanese food, you can't go wrong here.Taste: 4/5Service: 4.5/5Ambiance: 4/5Value for money: 4.5/5We had the sushi and sashimi for 2 which for 65 still included hand wraps and good toro. The eel was not bad. The best part was hot sake for $6! Definitely recommend getting that.

It was a convenient spot to go for some sushi after catching the Christmas spectacular show. However, if you're hungry, would not advise coming. Got seated quickly but the food took a long time arriving, and I had hungry kids who had trouble waiting for their food. Definitely do research and make reservations for a good spot for sushi in the future. Food was just average, but the portions were pretty good.

Hama is a great lunch or dinner sushi spot near Rockefeller center! The sushi was fresh (I tried the sashimi lunch) and the service was great. They have us plenty of time to look over the menu and checked in several times throughout lunch. Hama is a good balance of casual but also nice- a good work lunch place! Be warned though, as soon as it hits noon, Hama can get pretty busy. You're best off arriving a few minutes before noon if you want a table right away.

I came to Hama for lunch with coworkers and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Located near Rockefeller Center, this restaurant is a hidden gem. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess, who was extremely kind and sweet. For lunch, I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special, which comes with teriyaki chicken, vegetables and white rice, as well as a side of miso soup. I am not a huge fan of soups, but this miso soup was absolutely delicious! It was nice and hot, and was seasoned perfectly! The portion size of the chicken teriyaki special, was a great size. I was full and even had some leftover. The rice was perfectly sticky and the vegetables were cooked well. I do wish the chicken was a little bit better seasoned, but it was still tasty. This place opens at 11:45am and I would suggest getting there around that time, like we did, because by the time we left, it was PACKED! Overall this restaurant had great service, was extremely clean, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be coming back here for lunch to try out some of their sushi.

A first time dining experience at Hama met my expectations and then some. Conveniently located near Radio City Music Hall and 50th Street train station, we dropped by after seeing a Broadway matinee. The restaurant is one flight downstairs from street level. You can easily walk by on the block and miss it. Staff was very welcoming and decor was elegant and cozy.Started off with green tea served to us in the cutest tea pot set (with endless refills) as the server took our appetizer order. Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura was a must. We selected a hot sake (for me) and beer to accompany the appetizer. When the Tempura arrived, it was arranged attractively and was delicious. Two jumbo shrimp included along with vegetables made it the perfect starter and definitely shareable. For main, we chose two Maki rolls each and a third for sharing.I selected Spicy Tuna and a selection from the lunch menu--Salmon Yuzu (for $2 extra, can be served at dinner). The Snow Crab Avocado Roll was the signature roll for sharing.Opinion? Each roll was ocean fresh and excellent. The roll pieces remained intact and was flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Salmon which had a rice cracker crunch integrated in the roll.Happy Hour specials for food and drink takes place during the week which I'd like to check out in the future. I highly recommend Hama. 5/5 satisfaction rating for food, atmosphere and customer service. Go!

This was a modern looking spot with a sushi bar where diners can sit along with plenty of tables. They served a number of Japanese dishes along with sushi rolls and sashimi too. There were not a ton of specialty rolls to choose from, but just enough. The service was friendly while the food came out in a timely manner. For an appetizer, the salmon and avocado salad ($15.50) was ordered. This came with spring mix and tomatoes along with a spicy ginger dressing. This was not too bad. There could have been more salmon present. The spring mix seemed a little old, but the dressing was great. It brought everything together including the fresh avocado.Regarding the sushi dish, the yellowtail jalapeno ($11.50), spicy scallop roll ($10), arctic char sashimi ($4), and snow crab avocado roll ($15.50) was ordered. The yellowtail jalapeno was tasty. The jalapeno went nicely with the yellowtail. The spicy scallop came with flying fish roe. This was okay. The scallop was a little tough. The arctic char sashimi came with two pieces, and it was not bad. The snow crab avocado roll came with snow crab, avocado, flying fish roe, tempura flake, and sesame mayo. This was the best roll tried of the day. It had a good crispy factor from the flake and the mayo provided a slight kick. Will I go back? Sure.

Great sushi and ideal spot for lunch. We enjoyed solid appetizers and a few rolls. Really fun to sit at the sushi bar and watch them make it all. Good service, fast paced atmosphere. Would check it out for a sushi lunch.
