The food was exceptional, with a genuine Kazakhstan influence. Despite being short-staffed that day, the service remained impeccable, and the chef delivered an outstanding meal.

So I wouldn't come to this place again !Their services isn't bad but when you ask for tap water they purposely try to push bottled water onto your table it's annoying. I asked for tap give tap... I'm well aware of the dangers and possible smells of tap water no lessons needed. Then the prices for The portions isn't justified. The shish kabobs are very small , flavor is good really good actually but the pieces are just look like they were sliced in half of what the portion should be.The potato chips were really good as well surprisingly since more are blend and greasy but here they are good. The cilantro onions and red cabbage definitely had a fresh and good flavor on them as well. But from previous ownership the portion size went to by a lot you can se in my previously posted pictures. The Gulchatay salad which is really a glorified Caesar salad and nothing special at all for 21$ they gotta be kidding on that. And the pale chicken that my friend and I agreed smelled and was steaming from the microwave. Not sure if they think the patrons are idiots but the chicken was definitely microwaved .We left the place fully hungry and went straight to another food spot after. If you aren't a big eater this place isn't that bad for you but many more good spot put there to try( sashlik UZ/ and Omar khayam to name a few )

Went here one evening. There was another table with a small group. The restaurant was spacious and quiet. Only one waiter (assuming this is the wife). The waiter asked if we spoke Russian or English. We said English. Menu was fairly large with a good selection of dishes. We had to ask the waiter to explain some of the dishes. My wife saw pictures of a particular dish and requested it after the waiter explained it was the Uzbek Plov. Rice dish was enough for two to share. The waiter then asked if we wanted a salad or dumplings to go with the rice. We chose salad, which turned out to be Achchiq chuchuk. Didn't realize it was a separate dish; which goes well with the Uzbek Plov (according to the waiter). We also ordered the Shurpa soup (forgot to take a pic) and stuffed mushrooms. The salad came first. It was flavorful (savory, salty, and refreshing). Next came the Shurpa soup. Home style soup that hit the spot on a chilly evening. The braised beef was delicious and melted in your mouth. Not salty or bland; soup was just right. The Uzbek Plov came afterwards. That dish was divine. It had a lot of flavor, the shredded chicken was not over cooked, easy to chew. We were wondering where the stuffed mushroom was, but it finally came. Not bad, but I probably wouldn't get it again. I would definitely get the Uzbek Plov and Shurpa soup again. Won't be sharing the soup next time! Although the salad was yummy, I can't justify spending $12+ for 3 simple ingredients. But of course food usually tastes better when someone else makes it for you, haha. The waiter was very kind and checked on us. The only issue was at the end when we wanted to pay. So, there was an old man sitting in the back of the restaurant by himself. He was drinking alcohol by himself and then the Chef comes out with a big plate of food and placed it on the table and sat next to the old man. Ahh, so it turns out to be the dad of the chef (they look alike!). The waiter was then eating dinner with them; her back facing us. Now, of course this felt a little awkward for us both because we didn't want to interrupt their dinner but also wanted to pay and leave. She knew we were ready to pay but she decided to sit, eat and talk with the two guys. Besides that point, I would come back again to try out the other dishes on the menu.

We discovered something very new and pleasant. We went with friends to a wonderful and cozy restaurant with excellent and not intrusive service and chic cuisine. A cozy and bright room, the dishes that we ordered and served to our table were fantastically served in a beautiful format and very tasty. Salads, soups, samsa, manti in the style of Samarkand tradition, lagman in Uighur and Dungan style were made from good and fresh vegetables, with fragrant spices. Fans of tradition and delicious food from Central Asia should come and try everything for themselves. Thank you very much, I have not tasted dishes from my childhood so tasty and high quality for a long time. Special thanks to Sabina for the warmth and hospitality, glad to meet you, we will be friends with you.We will definitely come back to you.

4/5 for meat appetizers, but 3/5 for entreesThe meat filings for their appetizers are seriously good, but the baby-portions and jerky-like roasted lamb from the entrees might make you reconsider ordering the mains and just going for the small bites instead?Meat Samsa ($4 for 2): I've had a lot of samsas in this area but these are the best so far. Meat inside is semi chunky and not grounded up like minced meat, and the filling is super juicy beef/lamb with some onions and lots of spices. Soo good. Pastry is flakey and crispy, though not too many noticeable layers. Just perfect buttery and moist bites. Get two orders because you're not going to want to shareMeat Manti ($8 for 4): oh mannn this lamb filling. Even chunkier pieces than the samsa, mixed with a lot of fattier pieces for a very satisfying bite. Bit gamey for those who can't get used to lamb. However, the skin is too thick and not soft. When I got this for takeout, the skin had already broken as well so all the juices leaked out. Kazan Kebob ($16): roasted lamb with baby potatoes. Description also says comes with red onion, but not with my takeout. Picture is below, but for $16, this is really laughable - there's 4 nugget sized pieces of lamb, one big potato chopped in half to yield two pieces. They're definitely not the baby potatoes I was expecting following the entree description. I also know lamb is expensive, but this portion is really astonishing for a meat entree.Lamb was reallllly dry. Mayyybe I got a batch that had been left over because the surface of the meat had hardened and you can actually see the jerky-like texture it was becoming. Which was really unfortunate because the flavor was actually quite decent. There was one lamb rib that was almost purely fat, but the meat on that bone was sooo tender and flavorful. Just that everything else was dried and hard to eat. Also really surprised that it didn't come with any bases of rice, fries, or even a salad on the side.Lagman ($8): Uzbek homemade noodles with beef with beef/vegs broth. Similar to Lanzhou noodles soup, but the soup is darker and heartier. Good soup, a bit reminiscent of Campbell's chunky beef stew actually. But not a fan of the thicker noodles that had absolutely no chew. Portion is also very very tiny for this.
