A no frills Chinatown staple. We were seated almost immediately even though it seemed pretty busy and there was limited seating. We were given tea (which I believe was Earl Grey... I could be wrong) upon sitting down. We ordered two dishes:Roast Pork Lo Mein (3.5/5): Again, nothing toooo extraordinary but it was still a pretty good dish.Roast Duck and Wonton Noodle Soup (4/5): It was a great choice for such a cold day. I really liked their broth and the wontons. They gave plenty of duck as well!Overall, I would likely come back just because it is such a consistent place with affordable prices but just keep in mind it's nothing extravagant, but definitely a great place if you want some comfort and fast Chinese food.

Great NY Noodle Town has been a cantonese staple for years, & it's a consistently reliable late night spot. It's been a hot minute since I've been here, but my family and I came recently around 8pm for a quick bite. We were quite surprised to see that it was only half full; congestion pricing seems to really be impacting their business. We ordered a few bowls of noodle soup, half a soy sauce chicken, and some veggies. I always forget how good the roast meats are here. The chicken was really well seasoned, generously portioned, tasty, and not dry! Noodle soup portions are still generous, even though the bowl looks deceivingly small. I ordered my noodles with brisket & wonton, and there was a good amount of both toppings. The broth is not as flavorful as I remember, but still works well with the noodles. Cash only spot still, and parking is tough around this area.

The food was fine, but I think it's overhyped for what it is.Great NY Noodle Town serves no-frills Cantonese diner food.We ordered:Baby pig- skin was nice and crispy, but was served cold which detracted a bitChar siu- respectable, but nowhere near the best I've ever hadWonton noodle soup with roast duck- the wontons were really good. Duck was okBeef chow fun- decent, but again not noteworthyCleanliness is questionable, service is surly, and you'll probably be packed in at a table with strangers. But that's authentic to what you'd get in Hong Kong.Cash only.

Haven't been here in a long time and it was nice to see they renovated the restaurant, the waiters are very friendly and you get a decent amount of delicious food for the cost.

The food is decent and service is fast but I wasn't a fan of their roast duck noodle soup. The noodles didn't have a bite to it, the duck was super gamey and cold and the broth didn't have much flavor.

I have been a semi regular to Great NY Noodle Town since the mid 90's. I have eaten and loved their food and have supported this Cantonese institution in their many variations and forms. However, today, when I went with my family the waiter added a service charge of 25 percent. I asked the waiter what this charge on our bill was for and he stated it was the tip. Now, I have paid a service charge for parties of eight or more but never for 3 people. Please be careful because this service charge is not posted anywhere in the premises. The food was on point but the service was so so. Honestly I was taken aback by this experience. Please be advise this may be on your bill.

Good place for quick Hong Kong style bites. It's not my favorite wonton in the area, but the soup really hit the spot. The crispy pork belly was delicious, although I do wish it came out just a bit warmer. I might use this place for a grab and go, if anything.

Their food is great. The one star is for their terrible service. I was next and this was my table. They gave the table to another party who was after me. Another table opened up right away. They could have given that to the party that got my table. I refused that table cuz it's was too cold with the constant traffic through the door. Then he inpatiently told me insist have to wait. The next table opened up was also by the door but not directly in front of it. The manager, without asking me, told the waiters to seat other customers cuz "she wouldn't sit her anyhow". I am standing 2 feet away and can hear you. How rude. Not only did he keep passing me when tables opened up, he was acting rude and condescending. He skipped me for two more tables. Their tables seats for. So he was making me waiting for a large round table (usually for large parties or people sharing table). After like 10-15 minutes a waiter told me I should sit at a table and pointed to an empty table. I replied loudly, enough for the manager/boss to hear, it's not I didn't want to sir but the boss refused to sit me. It's a shame Chinese restaurant are known for food good but terrible customer service. I would love for my people to be known for both!!

If I'm being completely honest, this spot was one of the biggest letdowns from my visit to the Chinatown area of NYC. Here's why: So yes, I know that this is a very popular spot on social media and they probably get a lot of tourists visiting them, but I just have to say that the customer service is really bad here. I didn't have this type of experience at any other Chinatown spot - where the staff literally will glare at you are and do things such as rudely snatch the cash you are using for payment out of your hand. Considering its popularity (although it actually wasn't THAT crowded on the day we went), I'd probably give a bit more leeway to it if the food was excellent. The food, however, while perfectly fine and adequate, didn't really live up to the hype that this place seems to get from a lot of people - at least, in my opinion. The rice and meats for the combo plate are all well-cooked, but honestly are lacking in more flavor. If you do go, I'd definitely recommend just doing take-out. There's a dining space inside, but the staff really doesn't seem to like having people stick around. Very gruff and impatient for people to head back OUT the door!So with that, this spot is FINE, but considering the customer service, I'd probably pass on it in lieu of other Chinatown options for future visits.

Checked this place out again after a long time. The food is delicious, affordable, and comes super fast. However, I felt super rushed and was instantly given the check while I was still dining. People kept checking in on our table and were collecting our bowls already and gave us fruit. We were only a party of 3 and felt rushed but the food was good. The complimentary fruit was also nice and veggies were delicious.
