I was in the area and decided to try some soul food. The place is a small takeout, neat and clean. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant. They had a $10 lunch special, honey bbq wings, collards and yams. The wings lacked honey bbq flavor, the collards were bland and the yams were just yams. It was all edible because I'm known to throw a plate in the garbage but this wasn't the case, I just need more seasoning.

Lazy Sunday afternoon.. Wanted some soul food I did not want to cook. I opted for the turkey wings, rice and beans and macaroni and cheese. When the food got here from Uber eats it end up being smothered when I ask for baked specifically.. the macaroni and cheese and the red beans and rice. I never had it with yellow rice, but it was decent dry would now like gravy from the beans I'm used to that that's how southern cooking is.,Macaroni & cheese was decent. turkey wings barely had meat on them ...though they only opted to give me a half of a turkey wing instead of a whole one to half pieces of turkey wings flats, so I'm sure I'm glad I ordered off of Uber eats and pay $20 instead of paying if I would've ordered on Yelp I would've been pissed if I would've paid $38 for two Turkey wing flats with barley any meat ..oh and the cornbread is jiffy. It was pretty moist (minus the butter)half-and-half, lemonade, iced tea is delicious though it's a barely decent meal if you don't feel like cooking.

I was in a hurry and wanted some soul food. The wrong combination if you're in a hurry never go just on the whim that soul food is what you should do. The reason why is because most soulful places you have to step into the joint to look it over before you purchase if it's your first time. I say this because some Cooks burn the end corners of the cornbread. You may not want burnt cornbread some overcook the barbecue chicken and it's in the fat and oil from their chicken which they cover up with a whole bunch of barbecue sauce. You don't want all that oil and fat some mac and cheese is so dry if you don't go and see you'll be stuck with Mac and dry cheese. So it's necessary in my opinion. So was the case here I ordered when I got the food the meat loaf was covered in a sauce and it was not covered in the sauce very well it was like maybe one serving spoon of sauce for all this moist flavorful meatloaf but still The source should have been much more present. The cornbread was burnt when I spoke with the young lady I'm assuming she was young she sound very young and her customers service skills were poor when I spoke with her by phone she was quick to say that her cornbread at this establishment is never burned well you will see in the picture that's not so. The quality and quantity of the food the food did not come to me hot yes it was a 40° day in winter however if you're traveling with a heat cold bag three blocks only three blocks my food should still be hot and it was not. I tried to point this out and the young lady instead of respecting that I am an honest customer she argued me down that the temperature outside changed the food temperature. How's that possible it wasn't ice cold but it was not even a great warmth on the food at all. Which tells me there's a possibility the food was never stirred to keep it hot or the burner was not burning properly. Nonetheless the quantity they give you a lot when it comes to the vegetables and the starch. When it comes to the value of the taste it lacks luster. The meat loaf was definitely I would give it a eight and a half but the vegetables I had such as the green beans no way. As far as the cornbread no way I also ordered potatoes and no way. Every southerner cannot cook southern food. And that goes for the grandchildren someone didn't sit in the kitchen long enough and watch grandma put her extra touch to it. Nonetheless me personally I won't be back.

I just moved to the neighborhood a month ago and this is one of my favorite places to eat. Everyone is so nice there & everything is soooooo delicious but my go to order is their smothered turkey wings, mac&cheese, collard greens & candy yams. Everything is jam packed with flavor.

I ordered from here a few times! And I absolutely love my food but today? Today my food was elite! Everything Errieee!! and the service is alway superb! You might even get a few laughs!

I was driving around doing errands & I was starving, decided to try this spot out. In the mood for something warm & filling. The place is clean, new, and the cashier at the front was welcoming. I went with the salmon, collard greens & yams. Came out to about $20. If you are looking for something to SLAP you & feel like home, this is it. The food is fresh & hot. Nothing taste oily or overly processed/seasoned. Everything taste so so good, like truly home cooked. This hit the spot right before Thanksgiving. I'll be back for sure. This is definitely giving you your money worth, sit down restaurant quality food.

Sent over an entire wrong order and what they did send over was hard, chicken was not fresh at all. I'm truly disappointed!

I can't find the phone number to tell whoever I love them because this food made my soul happy . I don't have one complaint. I ordered turkey wings with white rice and Lima beans . Mac and cheese and potato salad (because I wanted to try other sides) and the half and half bev. Everything just tastes so good . Tell grandma I love her too

Can't get enough. Everything is so delicious! It's almost disappointing but understandable that some items are sold out before I get there.
