This is my favorite bar in Gowanus. You can count on regulars at the bar but whether it's your first visit or your 50th visit you'll be welcomed. The drafts rotate and the cocktails are good too. There are hot cocktails for the winter. The small bites are great. Get the fried pickles. They have trivia nights, Karoke, and other events so check out their site for the schedule.

Pozes = Unexpectedly AWESOME menu that transcends common "bar food" with lots of options -- some ACTUALLY HEALTHY -- for vegetarians and carnivores. HIGHLY recommend House Blend Grill Cheese with Tomato Soup, Fried Pickles, and ALL dipping/side sauces. The drinks might be more flavorful and stronger than You expect, especially anything "innocently refreshing" during summer. Easy-to-get-to location, near the R subway station, close to buses B37 and B63, and major car services, like https://arecibocc.com/# . Also reasonably close to entertainment venues, like Littlefield, Union Hall, The Bell House, Barbes, Lucky 13 Saloon -- You could make a Slope-y-Gowanus-y date out of it, either beginning or ending at Gowanus Gardens for appetizers or dessert.Owners and most staff are friendly and ALL are accommodating, while clientele ranges from locals to tourists. Negs = Space is SMALL and can get loud, especially during cold weatherSeating is not as comfortable as local competitors.Snacks are liiitttle pricey compared to local joints, like Park Slope Ale House, yet Gowanus Gardens' kitchen is open hours later than most (2 AM currently), so time factors in to cost divided by craving ;)

The food was great and well priced and they're one of the only spots in the area serving food AND drinks late on a weekday! However:I'm not ever one to complain about service in a review, but the bar was blasting pop hits and the crowd was obviously not into it in the slightest. And when they finally played an upbeat song that fit the energy in the room, me and my sister started dancing a bit to it and I saw the bartender roll their eyes at us and change the music immediately to something less danceable. This was my little sisters first time at a bar ever, she just turned 21 and came into the city to do my hair so I treated her to food and drinks after. Yall did a great job of showing her the most mediocre and piss poor energy in a New York City bar possibly imaginable! I legitimately didn't think it was possible to make being out as an adult seem so droll and awkward. Next time I'll go get Taco Bell and pull up to a real dive not this joke of a bar. :D

This spot was a bit out of the way for me, but I was quite excited to find a bar that had a kitchen stay open until 2am on a Friday night so made my way over. The spot is poppin' with people hanging with friends, coworkers, and dates. For drinks, they had a decent variety but nothing that really stood out to me. I settled for a classic Spicy Mezcal Margarita ($13). I found it kind of surprisingly that it didn't have a salt rim like I'm used to though. As for food, I wanted something light since it was so late. We ordered the Pepperocini Bites ($11) and large House Fries ($10). The pepperocini were interesting being stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped with bacon. Honestly, I didn't like this at all and the bacon was almost burnt, but I didn't want to waste so finished it. Fries were solid though as tough to go wrong with those.I wanted to like this bar so much more, but everything was just OK to me. The pepperocini were a letdown, so maybe I ordered the wrong food item here. If you're in the area, it's a great late night spot though.

I stopped in here and sat at the bar while waiting for a friend on Monday. I was served by Lee and requested something strong but sweet. She made me a berry margarita. It was PERFECT and exactly what I was looking for. This bar is definitely a local bar with regulars and where folks know each other and come to often. In the evening, it got super packed, which was surprising for a Monday night. They have a back outside (but enclosed) space, which was really cool and perfect for summer nights! I'll definitely be back to see Lee!!

I absolutely love this neighborhood joint. The GG Burger was delicious. It comes with pickles, lettuce, house sauce, and you get a choice of cheeses: American, house blend, or goat cheese. I went with goat cheese, and that was phenomenal. The fries it came with were the perfect texture. Very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Purple Haze was a solid drink. Service was great. I'll have to stop by again to try their other items.

Gowanus Gardens feels like a local neighborhood bar. We ordered the aperol gin & tonic which was their special drink. It was sweet and delicious and you can't beat it for $6. We came in around 7pm and just missed their happy hour which ends at 7 on weekdays. There's also trivia here on Monday nights and I wish I made a reservation for that. The bar area was very loud even for a bar - it's a small space and the place was packed. The service here is extremely slow. It was quite busy tonight and even though we sat at the bar but it was still hard to get anyones attention to order our food and drinks. It took us about 10 minutes to find someone to take our order, 10 minutes to ask someone for utensils, and 20 minutes for someone to get us utensils. We tried to order a second drink for 20 minutes, waited another 15 minutes for our drink to come (which it never did), and then finally went to get our own check even though we were seated at the bar.The food here is not as good as I thought it would be based on previous reviews and the price. For a $15 chicken sandwich and $4 to add on a side, the sandwich was very underwhelming. The chicken was fried but very hard. I scratched the roof of my mouth eating it. The sauce was good but it didn't make up for the subpar chicken sandwich and subpar caesar salad. I honestly hate leaving low star reviews but this experience was honestly underwhelming. The other reviews raved about every aspect of the experience but this fell short on service, food, and overall ambiance.

A fun local bar with decent food. They have a large drinks selection for both beers and cocktails. The pepperoncini bites were interesting, the chicken wings were crispy, and the quesadilla had fresh jalapenos inside, which elevated it. The service was friendly and attentive.
