Probably the best gopchang I've had in the city! I came around 5:30pm on a weekday with two friends and there was no wait. Everything was so tasty -- the gopchang, kimchi fried rice, and the banchan!

A unique spot to try gopchang- Korean offal- with bold, exotic flavors that are definitely worth experiencing at least once. While it didn't quite suit my personal taste, it's still an opportunity to explore something different. My party ordered the honey comb pork belly, the large intestine plate (daechang), and finished with rice cooked in the leftover juices of the plate. The honeycomb pork belly was decent, but on the tough side, very different from pork belly that melts in your mouth. Not something I would order again. The daechang had a rich, indulgent flavor- fatty and greasy, with a unique texture of crispy, elastic outsides and gooey, buttery insides. Unfortunately, I don't have the stomach to eat lots of fat, so I could only eat a small portion, but it was delicious. My favorite part of the meal was the rice cooked in the leftover drippings from the meat, which soaked up all the flavors and balanced out the heaviness of the previous dishes.Service was excellent. The waiter prepared the gopchang right at the table, using a protective screen to shield diners from oil splashes, and they also cooked the rice in front of us. The atmosphere is lively and well-suited for groups, with fun touches like autographs from K-pop stars on display in the entrance.

Gopchang Story is my spot whenever I'm craving some good gopchang (intestines). I've been to their Manhattan location a bunch of times, usually on a Thursday evening around 6 PM right after work. It's already pretty busy by then, so sometimes you might have to wait about 10 minutes, but other times you get lucky and get seated right away. You can join the waitlist on their website.I always go for the same order: spicy cold noodles and the original assorted gui. The assorted gui is this a mix of grilled beef parts--small intestine, large intestine, entrails, beef heart, honeycomb tripe, and these thick rice cakes. When is staff is grilling; they put up a board to keep the oil from splattering on you while grilling and even use slices of bread to soak up the extra grease. For me, the large intestine is the winner. It's got that perfect mix of textures--crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. The small intestine is more like a long tube, and when you bite into it, hot oil can sometimes burst out, so watch out (I've learned the hard way). The flavor is a bit gamier too. But dip them in their special sauce or eat them with the marinated chives, and it's so good.I like to balance out all that richness with a side of spicy cold noodles. It's super refreshing and helps cut through the greasiness--kind of a palate cleanser between bites. The vibe here is great too--clean, cozy, and the staff is super friendly and attentive without hovering. It always feels like a treat when I come here.If you're into Korean BBQ and up for trying something a little different, definitely give Gopchang Story a shot.

Ambiance (4/5): Located upstairs in a semi-dark setting. Not too loud but felt a bit tight. Not much circulation.Service (5/5): Servers came by frequently to help cook the intestines. They also put some wall dividers to ensure that patrons weren't splashed by the oil.Gopchang - As a noob to intestines dishes, I can confidently say it is not my cup of tea. Several of my group enjoyed them though! The rendered fat was used to make a delicious fried rice on the same skillet ($6/serving).Seafood pancake - generally liked it and the dipping sauce but didn't feel like there was much seafood in there.Beef short rib soup - the beef pieces were extremely large so it was difficult to share. Additionally, the meat chunks were dry and tough.Cold noodles - this was definitely my favorite dish of the night as I loved the sauce.

As a fellow Korean from Los Angeles, I have to say, my girlfriend (who used to live in NYC) insisted we check out this place for their gopchang and daechang. She wasn't wrong--it did not disappoint. In fact, it was probably the best gopchang and daechang I've ever had! The ambiance is super cute, making it a perfect spot for casual drinks and great food. Highly recommend this place, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in NYC. Thank you, 곱창이아기!!

I am not a big fan of intestine. However, Gopchang story changed my perspective. I absolutely love their beef intestine after trying it, super fatty and did not have the typical smell from cooked beef organ. Their other dishes were top notch as well, fried pork belly and beef brisket soup. It's a bit on the pricer side, however.

My friends and I wanted to try this popular gopchang place. We were lucky and came on a night that wasn't too busy so there was practically no wait. When we entered the restaurant, it was pretty crowded and all the servers were always on the move. We ordered a set fit for 3-4 people, and the food came out fairly quickly. The gopchang was so good, and they also had a variety of other cuts of meat on the skillet as well, such as liver. After we ate most of the meat in the set, we called the server and they prepared the kimchi egg and cheese rice. Delicious meal, would love to dine here again!

My friends always rave about Gopchang story and hyped it up so much. I was happy to finally be able to make the trip to NYC all the way from CA to try it and it did not disappoint. We don't have Gopchang like this where I live at all and it's so delicious. I already miss it... the wait can be long but if you put your name on the wait list, you can hang around the area. There are lots of Korean shops to peruse and pass the time! 10/10 would recommend the large intestine with the fried rice.

It was my first time trying raw beef and it was an interesting experience. I didn't particularly like or dislike it, but it worked well with the rice. I would try it again. I liked the bibim naengmyun. It wasn't too spicy and the broth was refreshing. The noodles were perfectly chewy and bouncy. So far, this is my favorite naengmyun in ktown. I also really enjoyed the fried dumplings. Great place to relax after work or hang with friends on the weekend.

I love that they gave you the option of trying the intestine set with different sizes( small, medium or large). Since it was just two of us and also our first time trying the Korean bbq intestine, we got the size small order along with cold noodle + spicy rice cake. My favorite is definitely the intestine. But it is slightly oily at the end, so ordering cold noodle on the side is a must. The Tteokbokki is not bad. But probably wouldn't order that gain. It's super nice that they gave you a blocking board while the intestine is being cooked, so the oil doesn't splatter everywhere. * I recommend joining the waitlist early. It did take over an hour for dinner. But we ended up just walking around the street and checking out other stores.
