I LOOOOOOOOVE this place! First time I came here, I saw pizzas on the bar and had no idea they were FREE! (I obviously didn't read the huge chalkboard sign on the sidewalk before coming in). And they do this EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. from 4-7pm. Usually they're serving up Margherita pies, but ask for their white pie and just inhale it. It's okay, no one's watching. The bartenders are all super friendly, but I've got my affinity towards Steve cause he always has my drink ready right when I walk in the door. (Yep I'm a regular).I really haven't eaten much more than pizza here, and would also recommend their Funghi e Olive. As for drinks, not too many choices of beer on tap but a d but that's what their brother restaurant Walker's, next door on the corner, is there for. Ambiance is a total date spot. Good for small groups too and of course HH at the bar is a must.So the word's out, and if you're at the bar before me, you better save me a seat!!

Stopped in here because it was conveniently near a gallery we were planning to visit. There was a lively group of friends/ co-workers gathered around the bar. It was just 6 pm, we were seated immediately and ordered two personal pizza pies. They were delicious and the service was fine.

I'm giving it four stars because my daughter just exclaimed its one of her favorite pizzas and we rarely eat pizza. We usually go to Luzzos or Pizzeria 28 which is great as well but if you're looking for pizza like the olden days or what one remembers as NY pizza style...this is it. Thin, crispy yet juicy.

Free pizza during happy hour if you buy beer. Service is strange and slow but overall it's a good spot if you're in the area. I like the food and the drinks but it's nothing special

I'm not sure how Girello has only 22 reviews but the bartender told me that they've been opened for 5 years. I guess their location is not well known as it is on a street that doesn't seem to get very busy. The bartender did say that they do a lot of private parties and have regulars that may just not do the whole social-media-Yelping thing. My friend and I stumbled upon Girello while walking around our hotel in Tribeca. House keeping was tidying up our room so we decided to continue exploring the neighborhood. Girello caught our eye with the cute outdoor seating area, and a chalkboard sign that promoted daily happy hour, with FREE PIZZA if you sit at the bar. The bartender was nice enough to let us have our free pizza outside since there was no one else in the restaurant when we arrived (5pm on a Sunday). You can choose between the margarita or blanco (or is it blanca?) pizza. We ordered the margarita pizza and it was good.I ordered an Italian iced tea and my friend ordered the French 75 (both $12). They also have a rose on tap ($8) but the bartender warned us that it would be in a small glass since the rose is pretty expensive. Our drinks were not a happy hour deal since it was mostly some beers on tap or house wines. The drinks came out after the pizza and was a bit slow, but we weren't really in a rush for time. The Italian iced tea was SUPER STRONG. Be careful!A good place to hang out and chill. Our bill was $24 and did not include tax which was a bit strange, but we made sure to tip the bartender well!

Good pizza place hidden between the gems of TriBeCa, everything else was strictly decent including service. They have good happy hour where hey offer you FREE pizza on a drink at the bar. The catch is that they will just keep the pizza at the bar - so Incase you are the only person at the bar, the pizza is yours ! Incase there 10 at the bar - then be ready to fight for your piece. They can definitely do better with specials, music, vibe.

Amazing sauce with the meatballs. The pasta was cheesy with the meatballs inside. Sauce was very creamy and rich. Meatballs were nice and meaty. The service was really nice and the environment was amazing not to noise. Was able to sit and enjoy my food and drinks.

I loved my Linguine and Meatballs, and the portion was huge especially for lunch. The space is very pleasant and comfortable, not too big or crowded. Service is friendly and fast. Overall very decent!

My boyfriend and I found ourselves craving Italian food and wanting to stay within the TriBeCa area for the evening so we decided to wander around. Walking past Hudson Street, I wasn't confident on what we could find until we discovered Girello tucked between N. Moore and Franklin Streets on Varick. The entrance looked charming and promising with little tables placed outside and a sign that highlighted their $8 Aperol Spritzers special. Walking in, I was surprised at how empty the place was for a Saturday evening. There was almost no sign off life beyond the glowing television above the bar and one couple deep in conversation. The host approached us and offered us any table we liked, so we sat in the corner next to the window since it was chilly outside. The atmosphere was romantic and far more charming on the inside with the exposed brick, dimmed lights and little candles and flowers on each table. We were offered menus almost immediately and decided to go with the crea la tua pizza and pasta Bolognese (in either penne or linguine - I went with the latter). While waiting for food, we decided to be very basic and go for the Aperol Spritzers and realized that it was incredibly quiet - something we appreciated since we typically dine in more crowded venues. There was a full bar and other drinks offered on the menu but the spritzer was the perfect fun, bubbly drink. Our food arrived not too long after we ordered and with my first bite I was extremely disappointed as the sauce was not flavorful and it was lukewarm while my next two bites were much hotter like it should've been towards the bottom of the plate but the meat itself was still lukewarm. At this point, I was starving and though I was appreciative at how quickly my plate came out I was confused as to why my dish seemed as though it had been heated up in a microwave like last nights leftovers and included chunky carrots. I regret not saying anything and to try and make up for it slash avoid waiting for a new dish, I sprinkled it with parmesan cheese and chili flakes. Finishing my sad dinner, I took a piece of what Girello calls "the best pizza in TriBeCa!!". The margherita pizza itself was certainly not the best in TriBeCa however it was a far cry from my bolognese dish as it was fresh out of the oven and topped with mushrooms and spinach. My one gripe with the pizza was the spinach itself as it seemed as though it was thrown on last and not cooked with the other topping. That aside, it was saucy and delicious with crust that was a little fluffy and crispy. Overall it wasn't the greatest dinner I've had in TriBeCa and was hoping this would be a hidden gem but three stars for their service, ambiance, location and pizza.
