Got invited to lunch at Giorgio's today, and I was told the food is incredible. Our reservation was at noon, and when we walked in, we were the only ones in the restaurant. But that changed quickly as the place filled up. We started with the heirloom tomatoes and burrata app, but honestly, it was a bit bland and didn't impress. Then came the stars of the show: Cacio e Pepe and Ricotta Gnocchi. Both dishes were rich in flavor and made to perfection. The portions were so generous we couldn't even finish them! Their sautéed spinach had that garlic flavor that I LOVE!Giorgio's is a charming family-owned spot in the Gramercy neighborhood. The owner's 7-year-old son checking on our table was the cutest touch ever.I'll definitely be back for their pasta and to explore more of their menu!

Really friendly service, clearly a neighborhood joint. Unfortunately, the sauce for my pasta (fettuccine al funghi) just didn't have a lot of flavor, although there were a ton of mushrooms which were great. The cacio e pepe tasted great but got clumpy pretty quickly and there was just way to much pasta for the amount of sauce.

Very delicious handmade pasta and bolognese! Generous portion too! Extremely flavorful. I'm definitely coming back for their other pastas. I unfortunately ordered steak alongside the pasta and the steak tasted really weird - a little old or maybe their marinade was off. Good texture though. Nice service! Love all the wood decor inside. You can see a chef making pasta through the front window! Fantastic lunch deal $15 per most pastas!

4.5 starsI was looking for a restaurant near the Gramercy Theatre, when I came across Giorgio's of Gramercy on the map. The restaurant had been a favorite of mine over 10 years ago, but it had been ages since I had last been. In fact, I was thrilled that it still existed. Reading through my previous review, I would say that my recent trip was not substantially different from my earlier one. The place was still a neighborhood gem that flew under the radar, yet offered such a positive experience.A few hours before our reservation, I received a call from the restaurant alerting me to the fact that their air conditioner in the main dining room was out of service. As an alternative, they offered us a table outside or one upstairs in their private dining space. The weather was gorgeous, so I claimed outdoor seats. Upon our arrival, the table was unfortunately under some scaffolding, but it was also right in front of the restaurant window, where we got to enjoy watching a man hand-making pasta. My friend and I both started with the Angry Bird cocktail, which was essentially their take on a spicy margarita. It contained house-infused jalapeno tequila, pamplemousse, lime juice, agave, and a salted rim. The drink was crisp and refreshing. We enjoyed the drinks with a few small slices of bread and our entrees. I had opted for the Sea Scallop dish, which started with a base of "cauliflower fondue", which was similar to a puree. The creamy custard was topped with 4 roasted scallops, golden raisins, roasted rainbow cauliflower, and toasted almonds. It was such a delicious blend of flavors and textures! Speaking of tasty morsels, the S'mores Bread Pudding, which my friend and I shared, was beyond decadent! Its layers of rich chocolate and gooey marshmallow were heavenly enough, but its garnishes of vanilla gelato, caramel, and graham cracker put it over the top! It was so nice to reunite with Giorgio's of Gramercy, an old friend that was still delighting diners with its lovely offerings.

Came here for dinner for a friends birthday. Staff was nice and friendly. Everyone else I was with enjoyed their meals however I was underwhelmed. Not that it was bad , but it didn't wow me. I had a beet salad and the fish special - halibut. I was bummed.

Loved this place so much. Came here with one of my girlfriends on a cold night. The bartender was nice. I wasn't sure what to order because I'm a tequila girl. So he made me a tequila soda. I believe my friend just had a beer. It's a great little bar area. I did see that they have a food dining area in the back. :bathroom alert:"It's a little strange passing everyone's tables to get to the bathroom. Make sure you watch your step. But overall, it was clean. I could see myself coming back here to start the night. Not to end it. I didn't think I was going to be allowed to come in because I was dressed like a bum. The prices were really good too.

I found myself at Giorgio's of Gramercy for an educational dinner. Since steakhouses are the go-to for events like this, I always find it refreshing when another type of restaurant is selected. Knowing that Giorgio's serves Italian cuisine, I was a little suspect but excited nonetheless to check this place out - so off we went. Giorgio's itself is a relatively small restaurant, and since we were a large party we were actually seated in a private room on the fourth floor of the building the restaurant sits in. The space was sparsely decorated, but it was super nice in the fact that there was a bar in the back of the room and we had access to dedicated bathrooms. I was impressed with the space - it was warm, comfortable, and ideal for a private event. All of the food was served family style and came out in phases - in total we were served the following: a bread basket, green salad, Caprese salad, fried calamari, roasted vegetables, some sort of grain as a side, steak, chicken, and pasta. In general the food was good - my favorites were the salads, chicken, and pasta. The chicken had a flavorful sauce paired with it, and the pasta had vodka sauce which had just the right amount of richness. The steak was a little too tough for me, and was disappointed not to see legs with the fried calamari (just large rings - a red flag). It was getting late so I peaced out before dessert was served.Service was good - the staff was consistently making sure glasses remained full and the food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a good experience at Giorgio's - the food was kind of a mixed bag for me, but I saw promise and chalk up some of the shortcoming to the fact that we were a large group and everything was served family style. I would be open to returning so I can get a feel of their more traditional dinner service.

Their gnocchi is pillowy and delicious. The bread is soft inside crusty outside. The salads are crisp. Perfect place for a great Italian meal.

Honestly such a great experience here, the drinks and pasta were all so fairly priced and the ambiance was cute. The aviator drink was delicious, it was not too sweet at all and made with gin but covered the taste so well. I got the fettuccine and the Greek salad to share, the pasta was great and had so many mushrooms in it. The salad I would skip next time.

Giorgio's is an old-time restaurant that has been around for a long time, and I had been wanting to try it for a long time; so last week my Son and I did just that. We arrived around 5 PM just when they started serving dinner. We were promptly seated at a nice, comfortable table. The bar is in the front of the restaurant with tables in the back and an open kitchen on the side. The service was always pleasant and efficient. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived but, by the time we left, it was starting to fill up.We ordered a nice bottle of California Chardonnay, which was reasonably priced. For food, my Son ordered the squash soup and lamb chops. He liked both of them. I had a taste of the soup, and it was yummy. I ordered the salmon tartar and the scallops. The salmon, served ceviche style, was quite good. The scallops were large and fresh, but completely bland. Around the side of the plate, they served what they called a cauliflower puree. All I can say about that accompaniment is that it was really weird. It consisted of small pieces of cauliflower, raisins and slivered almonds. I did not find that this sauce worked well with the scallops. I would rather have had nicely marinated scallops or a nice sauce poured right onto the scallops. The servings of all the food were very generous. We wanted to try the Baked Alaska for dessert, but were so full, we decided to leave it for the next visit. We hope to return soon, but I'll definitely choose something other than the scallops.
