Gibney's NYC

Good Irish breakfast on a Sunday. Excellent old fashioned. Open space with upper and outside levels. Solid. Fun at the bar on a busier night too. Only friendly suggestion is maybe to have 1-2 low table(s) to accommodate customers with physical challenges at high tops.

Food and ambience were amazing!! Drinks were so good also!! Definitely check this place out. The staff is amazing and super friendly

This place looks like it has been around for generations - but it's new! The bar is cozy and the rooftop is is an oasis above the city streets. The staff is marvelous and the food and drinks are spot on.

Had a great time last weekend! The live music was a game changer! Great local hangout if you are looking for a good time.

I was delighted to come upon Gibney's with my friend as we were searching for a place to grab a drink and food. We grabbed two empty seats at the bar. As it was a Monday night, it was not crowded. There were two other patrons at the corner of the bar and the bartender, John was engaged in a lively conversation with them. All good. We waited while we thought, a pause in the conversation would prompt the young man to excuse himself ask for our order. We waited. And waited, and waited. Finally my friend spoke up and said "excuse me can we order?"He came over and told us with an arrogance and annoyed attitude, that we had only been there for a minute and we would get our orders taken in time and to calm down, and then gave an angry glare. We should have left but we really just wanted to get served. He was rude, disrespectful, and honestly was indifferent to our being there. I understand that two women of a certain age, is of little interest to him but it should not really inform his work ethic or dare I say, the customer's needs. I guess his youth and inexperience, had not educated him in the field of hospitality and what being in a service industry means. I certainly will not be returning to this establishment and I hope that the owners take note of his poor attitude and teach their employees what it means to be in this industry. PS I have worked for many years in the hospitality sector so I understand both sides. Rudeness is never acceptable.
