This place is a fantastic food pilgrimage, you have the journey of finding the entrance to the abandoned mall, there's two entrances one on E Forsyth St or E Broadway, then down the stairs and around the corner. The mall itself is mostly abandoned but you'll be rewarded with delicious buns at the end!The dumplings and buns come out freshly steamed or boiled and piping hot! Definitely get the chili oil and vinegar which helps cuts through the rich fatty juices!Prices are reasonable, but it is cash only. There is a language barrier if you're ordering extra frozen dumplings to- go but you can always point to the menu and tell them how much you want and they'll happily pack it up for you. I personally bring a cooler to take some home as well. +1 Vibe+1 Taste+1 Presentation+1 Service+1 Value

A bit difficult to find, but just go downstairs inside the abandoned mall. There are a few tables near the restaurant and a bathroom. Food comes out quickly!Steamed Dumplings (8pcs) - Our favorite! The wrappers are so thin and inside is nice an juicy. They have a soy sauce/vinegar/sugar mixture on the tables that is the perfect amount of sweet, salty, and acidic.Small Steamed Buns (6pcs) - Nice fluffy dough and filling was pretty juicy as well.Everything is super cheap, service is fast, and food is so comforting!

Really fun find in Chinatown! It's not easy to find and isn't necessarily the most ambient spot, but good for food adventurers! This spot is located in a largely abandoned mall at the basement level. Truly no frills with respect to seating and service. I think they're cash only, and the food is super well priced. We got six big pork buns for $5. The buns came out super fast and were still very warm, and the filling was really delicious. The meat was succulent and you could see the people making buns while you ate! Would come again.

$5 for 6 baos and $4 for 8 dumplings are unbelievably cheap in NYC. Hidden in an old-fashioned mall, it was like traveling back in the 70s when I stepped in. FZWZWJXFW (yes, the restaurant name is long af lol) is located on the basement floor. For the price you're paying, you really get a good amount of food. It is worth a visit for a cheap chinese food adventure. ***Hygiene grade is pending. Flies flying around when we ate. Cleanliness was questionable as there was some mysterious sauce under the table that stained on my sleeves. *Small Steamed Buns (6pcs) 小籠包 $5This xiao long bao looked more like a pork bao. Served in a steamed basket, the buns were still hot and fluffy when we ate. I liked the texture of the bun. The meat fillings were juicy yet I found it a little too oily for my liking. *Steamed Dumplings (8pcs) 水餃 $4Compared to the steamed buns, I enjoyed the steamed dumpling more as it was less greasy. The pork and veggie filling was quite stingy, but you pay what you get so I wasn't mad about it.

The challenge is finding this place. It's on the lower level of a semi abandoned mall in Chinatown. There are no bells and whistles here. No seating either. Just good cheap eats.We had the steamed buns and dumplings. Great authentic flavor and texture. But the star was the bamboo shoot cake. Get it! Cheap eats but they don't skimp on quality. Definitely worth a visit.

Located in the basement of a near-abandoned mall, this is one of the last standing businesses of this once lively establishment. I wouldn't doubt that this is the only business keeping this building afloat. $5 gets you a box of a 6 fried dumplings, which is on the pricier side for dumplings in Chinatown, but will leave you more than satisfied. The dumplings were fried with an amazing crisp and filled with the juiciest, well-seasoned meat. They did not hold back with the chives in the filling. The menu is written in Chinese and English, but if all fails, you can always point. They were surprisingly very welcoming. The seating area is quite bare-boned with a few questionably stained tables. Probably would not be the most dine-in experience, so your best bet is grabbing yourself a box and finding an empty park bench to eat at LOL

A friend raved about this spot, so I finally made the trek to try it out. First of all, note that it is located inside an abandoned mall in the basement level. If you're looking for a hole in the wall spot, this is it. To get inside, enter through the glass doors on Forsyth St instead of Broadway, which is locked. Once you go downstairs, make a U-turn off the stairs to your right and you'll see the sign for this spot in a big red sign. We ordered the Small Steamed Buns (6pcs) ($5) and Fried Dumplings (8pcs) ($5). Since we were making many more stops, we got this for take out. But I do wish to try dining here to enjoy it from the steamer and because there's actually dining tables here. This is a hard find in Chinatown. The dumplings are delicious with lots of meat and thick cuts of shives inside. The buns are good with nice flavored meat inside, but I did find the bao to be a bit too thick. Make sure you enjoy the buns with the vinegar sauce to bring out the flavor though. Note: cash only as most places in Chinatown are.

Food: Both the boiled and fried dumplings here are delicious. The filling is made of pork and chives and it's not too oily like many other dumpling places. Even the fried dumplings were not oily at all. Excellent dumplings! Other menu items include soup dumplings, fish balls, and silky beef. Service: Staff is friendly and welcoming! Ambiance: This dumpling place is located in an old and abandoned mall under the Manhattan Bridge. Therefore, the seating area isn't that nice but they have tables set up if you want to eat there. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Don't let the abandoned mall vibe throw you off when you enter the building for Fu Zhou! This little restaurant is tucked away in a corner and packs a flavorful punch. We were served super quickly and our food came out within two minutes! The steamed buns and fried gyoza were phenomenal and I thoroughly enjoyed them (I love adding the vinegar on them!). The portions are generous and it's a fun spot to come with a small group (we were a group of 4!). Overall, we had an excellent time!
