Delightful decor and ambiance, plus good food and healthy portionsHad 6 of us there for brunch and everyone loved it. We sat next to the fireplace, had the bread service and we all got coffee (French press pot is the move) and different entrees. Had a lot of leftovers. Probably could have ordered 4 or 5 entrees. They give you corn bread and the bread service is awesome. Price wasn't bad $200 plus tip for all 6 of us? Good size table, not hemmed in, pretty quiet so we all could talk

Just had dinner at FofaF on the UWS with my wife and daughter. My wife had the chicken pot pie, my daughter had the shepherd's pie, and I had the Terry Alan chicken. We also split a cheddar biscuit. The food was very consistent. All good, none great. The crust on the pot pie did not appear to have any butter, but vegetable shortening. Probably healthier but less flavor. The shepherd's pie filling was well seasoned. The potato crust was a bit bland. The Terry Alan chicken had layers - bread, chicken, apples. over whipped potatoes. Very well flavored. The service was very good and the ambiance is really quite pleasant. A nice neighborhood spot.

I've dined here twice so far. First time was for a weekend brunch. They don't take reservations so we were lucky to snag two seats at the bar without having to wait. I ordered the boomer special which comes with eggs, your choice of pancakes, and your choice of meat. Everything I would want at breakfast! Second time here was for a week day breakfast. Plenty of places to sit this time. I got to see more of the restaurant. We sat in the back room which is so much brighter than the front of the restaurant. I was more limited for what I could eat on this visit and went with the French toast. Loved every bite of it; there was nothing left when I was done!Definitely a good spot for breakfast/brunch!

Truly a beautiful restaurant. The ambiance itself is enough to go again. Robust drink menu, and big enough dinner menu. On the more expensive side but I've seen higher prices for lower quality. Our waiter was always there when we needed her. Onto food: it was all good, especially the chicken pot pie they're famous for. But, everything except the pie came out cold? That was so odd. I should've said something, that's on me. Don't know if it'll happen to you if you go. I'd give it a try.

A super tasty brunch, though a bit over priced. I was able to walk in as a group of 3 around 10a and we were seated without an issue. Our food came quickly and even though they were in the throws of brunch service, the staff was helpful and didn't rush us out (to a point)

Well if you need a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city Friend of a Farmer is the spot to try, a quiet cozy atmosphere awaits you and the seasonal changing menu has plenty of tasty options to tantalize your taste buds We started with the roasted cauliflower and the sautéed mushrooms both were fresh and tasty appetizers my partner had the chicken pot pie for dinner and I opted for the halibut both came to the table hot and were excellent entree's that exceeded our expectations as we always heard good things about the Friend's brunch dinner was superb as well, the service by Muritzio was attentive & professional and sitting by the warm fireplace on a chilly winter night added to the wonderful experience

A tasty brunch that was easy to get into with or without a reservation. It's cute inside like a countryside home. They had good traditional breakfast and brunch items, including cocktails. We all enjoyed what we ate and were pleasantly surprised by the lemon ricotta pancakes. The service was good with attentive and helpful staff, including the host. Would recommend this location.

The chicken pot pie is out of this world so is there apple pie for two or take the rest home with you!!!!I've been to the Upper Westside restaurant many times as well as their restaurant in Woodstock, Vermont. The brunch is out of this world. Everything is good. I recommend you start with the Apple pancakes, my favorite.I'm also in love with the Shepherd pie.start off with the cheeseboard and a nice warm red glass of wine.
