Five Acres

We ate here while visiting the Rockefeller tree and other Christmas decorations in New York. 5 Acres is located under Rockefeller Center on the Rink level and it's indoor on the Mezzanine level. It was GREAT to come inside and warm up, sit down and have a bite of lunch. We ordered fish and chips which my husband definitely liked. I'll say the picture makes it look greasy but it actually wasn't. The burger was a four out of five. It was cooked perfectly but it just didn't have a lot of flavor. The fries were a hit though and were worth the price of admission!The service was pretty slow for the drinks (Diet Coke in a can and draft beer), but the food came out reasonably. The table next to us had their food before their two cans of soda! Other than that, I would recommend for the location and definitely those fries!

Okay had to come around here for an office party and since it was pouring that day, I picked a place that was relatively close to the office. This place was hard to find inside the building. It is pretty much hidden and all the way in the back corner. I didn't realize this was inside Rockefeller building, until we got there and so I was disappointed this wasn't it's own place and rather just eating out in the middle of the building with dividers guarding the area to separate them from the rest of the room. I have never been to Olmsted, but only knew about it because had done a photo shoot there. I have no opinion about it, and so I came here and was super disappointed. The hostess was nice, but didn't set our table up when we got there. We had to wait and our male waiter wasn't attentive at all. Our water was empty for a long time and I had to flag him to get more water. Food wise -Artichoke and spinach dip - horrendous. I love this stuff, but didn't love it here. This is the worst dip I ever had like so bad I much rather have a microwave version from TJ's than here. The artichoke wasn't cut evenly and found a couple of pieces that were too huge to fit inside one's mouth. It was watery and bland. Very disappointed that I ordered this dish. Calamari - this was standard. Steak Frites - the fries were actually really good but can't remember the steak. 5A Burger - standardArnold Palmer - this was a joke. It's not even freshly squeezed lemonade. It's from Natalie's and this came in the tiny tall cocktail glass rather than a regular drink ware and so did the coke. I am talking about not even a full can's worth. Not impressed.

Worst restaurant experience I've had in a very long time. From the beginning, the service wasn't welcoming, nevertheless, when a kid spots pizza on the menu plus it's a holiday in a typical office work environment, you go for it. (Tip: Ace pizza nearby would have been a go if it was open).We knew what we were getting and quickly ordered; received the food not long after. The chicken with mash were pretty tasty, but the fries were very salty and the pizza we came for was an instant reject for a kid who had basic pizza expectations. Worst of all, the pizza wasn't cut into slices so imagine the mess. I'm not sure the last time I've been served an uncut pie (this is personal size).Not once did someone check in on us and we had to ask for napkins to receive a very dry response. To add, there were 2-3 other tables max occupied at this time. There's many places in NYC with shabby food and service, but not many that make you feel soo unwelcome AND serve 1/3 decent tasting plates on top of the automatic 20% gratuity add. The tip was upfront and wasn't an initial turnoff given the lack of options at Rock center on this specific day, but the service definitely does not call for it.Never again.

Location is in middle of concourse of rock center downstairs. I got a simple app chicken wings. Also got there version of margarita. Drink was weak and wins were small dry and tasteless. To top it off after no real service was forced to pay 20 percent tip.

Super expensive for what it is! Food was very salty, and very oily. The Brussels made me use the bathroom nonstop.. so hard in NYC!! The calamari was salty and so was the eggplant. Maybe the burgers are better?Service was great!! The staff were so kind and nice and welcoming and patient. Ambience was definitely something special! Right inside the Rockefeller center, and it was the most beautiful restaurant inside the center. Very easy to find! A little ways away from the bathroom but the location was perfect!

Nice large open concept space in the middle of the concourse level of Rockefeller Plaza. Reminiscent of an airport lounge. I like it! Regular, American type menu including apps, burger, roasted chicken, etc. nothing fancy.I got the roasted chicken and a side of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were especially yummy, very homemade tasting and oh so buttery!! The chicken was really good as well! Very flavorful and fresh and hot. Cooked just right, and juicy not overdone like many places. My husband had a cheeseburger and he also said it was really good! That's a bonus from a burger critic!

Servers don't seem to care about quality service because they have a 20% tip automaticity added to the bill. Food was average at best and service was horrible. Waited comes takes drink and food order (brings drinks) writes down food order and leaves. 45 minutes later he swings by and say "did you get your appetizer?" After I replied NO he said whoops....I went on break and forgot to turn in the order.

The caesar salad was so good, I added chicken to it. The server was so sweet and nice.

"Service was amazing. you have to try the ribs! they were so flavorful and fell right off the bone! Got the blood orange margarita and i will definitely be back to try the other drinks"

the Wisconsin burger was delicious one of the best burgers I've had in a while and the service was really great cant wait to return !
