Father and Son Soul Food Catering

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for a good soul food restaurant and this place did not disappoint. The food was simply delicious. Ordered the turkey wings smothered in gravy. I went back 2 days later and ordered the dinner again with collards and mac-n- cheese) and also a la carte.I never tasted turkey wings sooo scrumptious. The cashier was very friendly and patient while I tried to decide what I wanted. While I waited for my order I took time to look at all the pictures on the wall. Restaurant had a nice inviting atmosphere and was very clean.

This is solely based in smell and ambiance inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, after waiting 10 minutes on a line that was super disorganized, those waiting to order were told the wait was 25 minutes. Now, I do not mind waiting for food but why wait until you see the space get packed with customers to announce it will be an even longer wait altogether? Sadly, I had to leave but I am hoping next time things work out. That chocolate and vanilla cream cake has my name on it.

Ok. I'm Not Hating But Gotta Keep It Real- The Food Here Is Good But I Gotta Question Somethings:First - Ya'll Stopped Making The Sweet Potato Pie. ???What Gives??? That Was A Banger.Second - The Mac And Cheese Side For $12.00 - NO!!! That Should Be $7.00 At The Most. Way To Small And Cost Wayyyy More Then It Should.Third - Why Have The UberEats Pickup Guy Call Me 45 Minutes AFTER I Ordered To Inform Me That You Don't Have An Item. I Would Think You Guys Would Have Called Me Way Earlier Then That.I Hope And Wish You Guys Continued Success.., But It's The Lil Things That Can Make someone Click Or Visit Other Establishments.

This place is on top of my list for revists. My first experience is 10/10 and -Food, Service and Cost. I walked in it looked like they were just opening- I didn't check the hours prior because I was just passing by and decided to check it out. I was immediately warmly greeted. The lady at the counter ( I later learned her name is Kierra) asked if it was our first time, I said yes as I looked at the menu board. She offered to give us a sample and went to the kitchen. Shortly came back with not what I was expecting as a sample but a meal for a small child lol. A whole wingette ,mac and cheese and candied yam. I was with my hubby and she brought him a bowl too. What!!! Say less- I dug in. Yums!! Delicious!! I was honestly shocked by the size of the sample. I don't even like candied yams but I did today lol.The wing was Sweet Chili and it was seasoned all the way though, so good. A lot of times wings have good sauce but aren't seasoned inside. Not here. Fried to perfection too. Placed our oder and then decided we should get something to drink. Again we were offered a sample and again Kierra came out with her bountiful big sample (4oz bowl) . We tried the Chef's Kiss , it's a mango lemonade- sweet and flavorful and very refreshing- lots of pebble ice - perfect for this hot summer day. Ok so we ordered the lunch special- 5 wings with a side - 7.50 - Hello what a deal for this level of deliciousness. I got lemon pepper wings with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Of course we got the Sweet Chili wings and Mac and Cheese. I got a side of collard greens- let me tell you - get your greens here too, cause they're not mushy and flavor is just how I like mine- a lil kick of crushed peppers , I had regret of not getting more . The mashed potatoes look like they don't have cream , they're definitely not from a box either and big flavors abound here too- lots of fresh thyme and garlic and boy it's was amazing . This is a take out only place, so no tables or chairs. It really works cause it keeps focus on food and service I think there would be really long lines and wait times if people were dinning in. I couldn't wait to get home and dig in to our grub and now I can't wait to go back here for more. Great soul food with terrific hospitality and even better prices. Truly a valued experience overall. Catering available and delivery through Door Dash. Street parking only . B14 bus stops right out front. Go and go often ,it's a gem . I don't often give a full 5 star review but this spot is so deserving of more.

Came in for lunch during my break because my coworker vouched for it. It was my first time there and in the area, so I didn't know how ordering worked. She just told me to go in and say I'm new, so I can get a "welcome" sample. Speaking to the guy behind the register, being welcomed was not what I felt. I asked nervously about the sample, and he replied, "Don't worry about it because we have to take your order first. We'll excuse me for not knowing. It made sense to me to have the "sample" first just in case I don't like it. But the process is to order first, then get the sample; okay. I ordered the sweet chili wings with Mac n cheese, which took a while. I didn't get a sample as they were not ready; at that point, I didn't care. The wings are sweet, but there's no kick with the chili part, but good. Mac and cheese was also good with the sauce on it. I didn't taste any unique flavors in the wings or Mac. But for 7 bucks, lunch special, it's good enough.

Customer Service is above average and the food is excellent; they care about their customers and it shows!

As soon as you walk in, you are hit with hospitality in a New York fashion. First timers are introduced with samples . The atmosphere is surrounded around a diverse collection of father and son portraits. I ordered their large smother pork chop dish and I was pleased . I can't wait to return and utilize their lunch specials .

I have to say everything I ordered was great. I had the fried whiting with garlic mash potatos, sweet potato and potato salad and it was all so good. I also ordered the iced tea and it was very sweet but still good. It's my second time ordering and it did not disappoint.

Oh my Gawd. This food is bananas lol. I had the plain fried chicken and some whiting smh. The chicken is seasoned from the ancestors you cannot convince me it isn't. The wait wasn't too bad. I also had the jerk chicken. While waiting they give you this sample of a piece of flavored chicken, mac and cheese and the daaaammmnnn yams those were dipped in gold lol and a piece of oxtail. And it all was too good. I will be using them moving forward

The best soul food spot I ever been to make you feel like family and the food was more then what I was looking for it's definitely worth the 50 mile travel
