New York style pizza. Big single slices paired with an oversized beverage. Great way to fuel up from walking around Times Square. Tasety pizza, casual and quick service. Moody gave excellent service with a smile.

This is pizza!! There are so many wonderful pizza places in NYC and all offer something special. However, a Rays slice is the ultimate in crisp crust and sauce. Toppings are always fresh and this is my go to on every visit to NYC

Fun and tasty little spot tucked into Times Square! Pizza was good. I got the chicken bacon ranch.. a tad bit on the dry side (the chicken) but I still ate the whole thing! The crust was delicious by itself too!

The pizza was okay, just your regular slice. The dough was very chewy and thick. The pizza overall was filling and was good for a quick bite. The service was good and quick.

If you're looking for a great pizza spot the original rays is the spot. I've included a picture of the pizza slice they have. I have a big hand and put it so you can compare how big the slices are. I ordered a pepperoni no flop ( if you know , you know ). Perfectly toasted and delicious!!it's a small place the service was friendly and quick.

This was our daughters' first trip to New York City. As such, we had to introduce them to traditional New York style pizza: thin and crispy crust; large slices; counter service; served by the slice. Ray's was only a block or so from our hotel in Times Square so it was an easy stroll to get ourselves a few slices to try: cheese, pepperoni and spinach/mushroom.Although delicious, my daughters noted that their slices were a bit on the oily side and that they actually preferred the pizza from the 99¢ Fresh Pizza joints. Fine by me (and much easier on my wallet).Location was clean. Service was efficient. Decent amount of seating inside if you prefer to enjoy their pizza there versus taking your slice to go.

A famous slice with a famous address. It's the most expensive slice I bought but certainly provided a memorable experience. Pizza in Times Square. The slice was average to slightly above but no complaints. I would certainly go back.

I was taking a cab to the Lower East Side, watching a news editorial on the TV in the taxi. They were discussing the best pizza in the tri-state. I was appalled. New York wasn't even in the conversation. They were talking about the battle for the soul of pizza in Connecticut and New Jersey. I was incensed. So I had to come to the famous original Ray's Pizza to restore my faith in my city. A city I grew up in in the 80s and early 90s. My city, whose pizza virtue I have been extolling for 30 fu**ing years while lost in the wilderness of the DMV.I was forced for years to eat lackluster pizza. Not bad pizza, but certainly not the pizza I had come to remember growing up in Queens. My dreams of my faith being restored were dashed. The establishment that serves this swill is not worth the moniker of the description, 'pozza'. The service was fast, too fast. I was rushed through an assembly line of pain and desperation. The pizza was sad, depressed, and stiff-looking. They warmed it to a lukewarm temperature, threw it in the box, and served it to me. Four slices and two drinks are $28. They really should be ashamed of themselves; the pizza I could barely stomach, but I was hungry was dry, tasteless, unremarkable, and every sense of that word, please don't waste your time, energy, effort, and money to go to this place. Serving this in Times Square places should be a crime, not worthy of the city I love; you should not be allowed to serve this pizza. Someone, please hear me and stop them from destroying further our sullied reputation. NYC pizza needs a revival.

My teenage son wanted greasy NY style pizza on our trip to NY, so when we wanted a snack when walking in Times Square, we had to try Rays. We got 2 slices of specialty pizzas to share, came out to over $15. It's a bit pricey for what it is, but it's Times Square. Service was just okay. Staff were chatting amongst themselves or on the phone while customers were waiting to order or get their food. There was a seating area that was no frills but clean. The pizzas themselves were tasty. The crust was thin and toasty, keeping the greasy toppings from making it soggy. My son did get heartburn afterwards, but that's not the pizzas fault. LOL.

Let me be clear- I LOVE Rays cheese pizza. It's my go-to place to get a slice. But I have to tell you what happened yesterday and today ( 3/27-28/2024). Ordered a slice. The guys said it was $8. Both the hard copy menu and sign said $4. I questioned the guy at the register but he said the prices had changed and they were going to change the prices. Had no choice but to pay. Today, I went back and asked how much a slice of cheese was and the woman cashier said $5. Still not the posted price. I spoke to the manager and told him what happened the day before. He made it right and gave me a free slice. BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDERING AT THE RAYS ON 7th and 49th. P. S. I even asked a policeman about what happened and he said they can't do that.
