The Upper East Side moves downtown. Not quite, but Eulalie has opened in the former Batard (Corton/Montrachet) space on West Broadway in TriBeCa. Eulalie is essentially a relocation of Simone from the Upper East Side. Tina Vaughn told me that she and her husband/chef/owner looked at many locations but none were quite right. When they visited the space after Drew Nieporent offered it to them they knew it would be perfect. With far fewer tables than Batard, there is a quiet elegance to Eulalie. The food and service are a throwback to an earlier era. The food is excellent although not cutting edge. This is a place you can take your trendy nephew and your great aunt and they will both be impressed.

Where do I begin? I think the experience starts with the voicemail you leave. It calls back to an earlier time (being a Gen X / Millennial cusper as they call it). First off, it's a bespoke, updated and witty message. Be nice and leave one in return. When you get the call back from the number, pick up. Put in your request and cross your fingers. A lot of anticipation before the date. Thinking about who to fill the seats with, who is a foodie, etc. I went with clients and coworkers but I gave it a long pause in terms of who should go. From the second you step in, they take care of you. Not just the actions but also the words and tone. Sincerity. Think: your childhood friend's house where all the kids hung out. The parents there always treated you well when you came and played. Like that. The food has already been described by NYT and those here on Yelp so I don't need go to into those details. We ended the night when Chip / Tina were chatting our party and we didn't want to leave. I stepped out of the restaurant realizing there were still those in party talking to them. I had to go back in to nudge them to leave. I just want to close and say that I just love it when people know what they want to do in life and do no more / no less. Congrats on the success.

Absolutely the best meal we have ever had! The Passion and attention to detail from every employee here from the Owner Tina to the chef to the busboys is just extraordinary. More over the ambience and old world sense of style and class is wonderful. And the food is par excellence on steroids. The prices are quite reasonable given the level of perfection and quality. We shared the filet and lobster entrees which our server Craig was kind enough to plate for us. We also shared the most delicious beet and goat cheese starter as well as the ham and cheese tart. And each course we pared for us with a half pour of wine which was just right. And did I say how much we loved the seafood sausage in saffron sauce. Also just the simple bread and butter on the table was better than any I have ever tasted in Paris. The owner Tony made us feel like we were guests in her home. I can't remember another meal in NYC which was so personal and special. And I am glad that Tony requests guests dress up and show respect for the work of art that unfolds as you dine in her presence. The deserts especially the chocolate mouse were a wonderful way to end the most perfect meal of our lives. We can't wait to return to this magical spot in lower Manhattan where you will be transported in time to a meal of a lifetime!

No Resy or OpenTable, no Instagram account, no phones at your table, no influencers, just old school charm and hospitality and truly great food. Dress up, be patient and be prepared to be charmed and taken care of by Chip and Tina. One of our favorite places. Call for reservations!

Can't say enough about this place. Great food in gorgeous room with great atmosphere. Chip makes everything himself, from the bread to the desserts. I have never had a less than stellar dish there. Wonderful service (Tina selected by Michelin as most welcoming host in NYC), very good wine list with lots of eclectic choices. But don't look for it on Resy - call and leave a message and Tina will call you back.

Absolutely wonderful. The best service I've ever experienced. Attentive, personal. Made us feel like royalty. A small restaurant, a dozen or so tables made this a very comfortable experience. The food and drink, though pricey, was excellent. Eulalie is definitely deserving of a Michelin star or two.

Terrific and most pleasant surprise. You are made welcome from start to finish by every member of the staff, led by Tina, in a warm, non-obtrusive manner. The atmosphere is informally elegant, relaxing. What you want in a restaurant today, not the stiff formality of simultaneously lifted cloches, but food that could well merit such attention. And the food is wondrous. While the descriptions of dishes would have you expect some version of traditional French fare, they are updated in a most sophisticated way. A house-made terrine is silken and starts you off on a series of extraordinarily executed dishes. Try the perfectly cooked ris de veau, a rarity in these parts, but a special taste, both crisp and light, at Eulalie. A fresh and densely flavored portion of soupe de poisson also seems mid-course standard. Just wow! Chip's butter poached lobster was the most flavorful, tender lobster I have ever had. Ever. The wine list is a "just right" size in breadth and price range.A lot of work, thought, and experience have gone into the back and the front of the house, resulting in a satisfying total experience. This is what going out to a restaurant is and ought to be about. Tribeca welcomes and thanks you, Eulalie.

Easily one of the best dinners I've ever had, and I'm not at all easy to please! Exquisite from start to finish, from the duck terrine to the white gazpacho to the delicate and delicious flounder dish and coconut buttercream cake, I was floored. Owners Chip and Tina seamlessly blend the finest French cuisine with their warm Southern hospitality. Truly magical!!
