Main reason I go is for the bartender Jack. Best service ever, so approachable, funny and just an overall good time. He makes the most delicious drinks! Also makes the best food recommendations. Get the VIP pizza with mikes hot honey. If you want to have a good time? Go there on Fridays! Must go!

I was back here once again a while back as someone else had ordered the burger last time I was there and as I was pretty disappointed in their version of Detroit style pizza. I had heard rave reviews so I decided why not. I was in the front room this time compared to before and they weren't super crowded. The staff didn't have the issues from the last time which was a good change. I ordered the humorously named Fiscally Irresponsible with bourbon, punt e mes (a half bitter half sweet vermouth,) maraschino, cynar, cinnamon, and orange for $15 which was ironically pretty reasonable for the price point. It was a very tasty cocktail being similar to a black Manhattan outside of the extra zing from the cynar. Nice amount of citrus, nice amount of alcohol, and just in general, a cocktail that I really liked. The Le Big Matt Burger for $27 has a 1/2 lb double-stack beef patties, American cheese, sammy sauce, greens & pickles and is served with side of waffle fries. If I recall correctly, the price includes the waffle fries and as they're normally $8 as a side for their burgers and sandwiches, you can kind of think of the burger itself as being $19 instead which makes it a bit less pricey to an extent. The burger was a bit too messy for my liking having way too much sauce and had a bit too much grease. Speaking of sauce, I didn't really like it much. It reminded me of a thousand island dressing found in many burger spots but it had a peculiar spiciness to it. While I do like heat, I wasn't expecting this and the overabundance of this sauces didn't really help things and when I was able to finally remove some of the sauce and have the actual burger, it was a bit overcooked so I guess the sauce helped mask that. The American cheese is a bit of a throwaway especially for a pizza place that should have better cheese than American. The saving grace were the things that weren't the actual burger or the sauce which isn't saying much. The pretzel bun was a tasty twist on the usual and worked well with the messy burger. Best thing on there were the pickles which I think were bread and butter which added the good little sweetness and crunch along with the lettuce of all things which usually isn't something I want on a burger as it isn't too necessary for a good burger. For the fries, the portion size was massive and they were solid though a bit undersalted. Some could have been a bit crispier as they were of all different sizes but overall, not many complaints for the fries. In terms of burgers with waffle fries, there's much better options such as at my personal preference Wollensky's. By comparison, the burger there is much better quality, it is cooked perfectly, and isn't hidden behind a bad sauce and they let the meat shine which should be the case for a good burger and there's much better cheese choices. For the same price point, you could also get the (much better) double cheeseburger at Minetta Tavern though those don't come with waffle fries as they come with pomme frites. Outside of these two, there are many other places that just make a better burger for cheaper or for similar prices. Maybe I just went into this place too hyped but I don't get the hype behind the burger here. The cocktail gets a mid 4 for the price point and flavor and the burger gets closer to a 2 and as the meal is more important than the drink, I'll stick with the latter. 2.3.

I told a friend I was on a quest to find the best burger in the city and this was their recommendation. I was intrigued that a pizza restaurant would serve the best burger and I always walk by this place so I decided I needed to give it a try.The waiter was very friendly and explained to us the accolades that have been bestowed upon this burger (there were a lot, I've since forgotten them, but they sounded impressive). The 3 of us decided to order the same burger and a pizza. It took a while for us to get our food even though we were literally the only people in the restaurant, but good food takes time! The burgers arrived and initially we were disappointed in how small they were (for $27!). Despite the size, the burger was indeed very good -- my only gripe was that the patty itself was burnt. It was burnt on all 3 burgers that we ordered. The waiter came to ask us how the food was and usually I just say good and move on, but this time I had to mention how strange it was that the burger was so burnt. We were informed that typically they would ask us how we would like the burger done and that they usually recommend medium well and they apologized for not asking us. . I guess that explains why it took so long to get the food. The waffle fries that came with the burger were amazing though! The pizza was nothing to write home about, not bad but not amazing. I would prefer Prince Street for a Detroit-style slice.Overall, I am giving this 3 stars. The burger was good, but not something I would come back for as there are better options nearby that are better value for the money.

I rarely stray away from simple pizzas. I normally just get cheese or pepperoni, as the opportunity cost of trying a new pizza and not liking it is just so damn great. Some of y'all do SO much with your pizza smh. There are few things better than bread, cheese, red sauce, and some pepperoni done well. Simple, yet effective. Oddly similar to my mid range jump shot...All this to say, my girlfriend really wanted the Colony pizza from Emmy Squared, as she is far more adventurous with her pizza. I realize this only adds honey and jalapenos to a pepperoni pizza ahahaaha but still, I was nervous. Plus she was buying so what was I really gonna say lol.Upon opening the box, I was hopeful. It still looked delicious. I mean it literally just adds jalapenos to what I normally get so...... I know I'm nuts, but I can only be me.After ripping into my first bite, I got a mouth full of jalapeno so that threw me off a bit, but I composed myself and kept forging on. I ended up eating 3 slices, and was gonna go for 4 but didn't want to be a little piggy wiggly because I'm tryna be rockstar skinny. I prob shouldn't be eating pizza when I'm tryna be rockstar skinny, but here we are.I did end up eating around the jalapenos if we are being honest, but that honey did add so much to my normal pepperoni pizza. It inspired me to start adding hot honey to my pepperoni pizzas. I know I'm behind the 8 ball on that but whatever. It is what it is.Thank you, Emmy Squared, for taking me on this journey.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov_reviews

This place was delicious! Seating area is a little tight but it's worth it and what you can expect in NYC. Came with 4 girlfriends so we had fun catching up over good wine and cocktails, and splitting some menu items! Started off with mozzarella sticks that were tasty and crispy. I just wish more than 5 came on the plate because it was so good. Caesar salad was great but FYI you can taste anchovies, I don't mind but I know some people do! I didn't take a picture because we devoured it so fast, but for an Italian place...their burger is TOP notch. But of course we couldn't leave without trying a pizza that was equally yummy. Make a resy and try this place out!

If you're looking for a great spot with amazing drinks and an unforgettable experience, Emmy Squared is the place to be! Jack, the bartender, is hands down the highlight of every visit. His friendly, welcoming demeanor makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Not only is he great at striking up conversations, but his drink-making skills are top-notch. Every cocktail is perfectly crafted with care and precision--truly some of the best drinks I've had anywhere. I find myself coming back every Friday just for Jack's drinks and his wonderful hospitality. If you're in the area, you absolutely have to stop by and see what all the fuss is about. 10/10, I can't recommend it enough!
