Cute little lunch spot-- but on the pricier side, but I'd recommend the apple and pear cobble for sure. The bread on the smoked chicken sandwich was a bit too toasted for my liking, but still very good and worthy of getting again!Cheers!

Cozy eclectic restaurant, part of why the West Village is such a great place to live and eat. Burger was fantastic, pasta was excellent, finished with a bowl of warm milk.

The afternoon of January 12, 2024, my friend Steven and I went to Elephant & Castle at 68 Greenwich Avenue, New York City. We had a delightful time, each of us having a well-packed specialty omelet. They were as tasty as ever. We shared a scrumptious dessert of cherry pie and vanilla ice cream. The whole meal was yummy. The staff was very personable and attentive and included host Hector, server Maria, and the cooking team of Saul and Armando. This establishment has been here for some 50 years and we hope it continues on for another 50 years.

Elephant & Castle has always been my favorite brunch place ever as it was where I had my very first NYC brunch experience back in 2013. Therefore I am very honored to finally leave a review as a Yelp Elite member 10 years later in 2023. Elephant & Castle is what I describe as a cozy and charming brunch cafe with a vintage vibe that is rightfully located between West & Greenwich Villages. What I truly love about this place is the ambiance but the Eggs & Apples Benedict with French Toast. The eggs are poached perfectly and hides the surprising layer of apple slices underneath. When you cut open your poached egg, the yolk is perfectly yolked and flows down the French toast to reveal the apple slices. I'm not sure exactly what kind of apples they use but I safely assume it's a red apple because it's on the sweeter side that compliments the yolk very well. In addition, the French toast has perfect balance between crisp and doughy textures. It's also sweet but not too sweet. The finishing touch to the Eggs & Apples Benedict is the maple syrup bacon which adds the savory yet sweet finale to this dish. Whenever I dine at Elephant & Castle, I always order a nice big cup of Spanish Latte. When I've had Spanish Lattes in Barcelona, it kicks you pretty strong but the Spanish Latte here has a fluffier and laidback flavor to it which foretells well of the cozy atmosphere to this establishment. Lastly, the service here is always great. This time when I went, the server was pleasant and my Spanish Latte and Eggs & Apples Benedict came out at the same time, which was a pleasant first for me. Another noteworthy drink to have at Elephant & Castle is their mimosas which are very citrusy and refreshing but can add some tipsy fun to your morning if you're not too careful about how many mimosas you drink. Anyway I am so happy to be able to have a nice relaxing brunch at my favorite brunch cafe ever and you know I'll be back in the near future. Thank you Elephant & Castle for being my staple brunch fave!

It's been at least 5-7 years since I last ate at Elephant & Castle and it still holds up. It's a cozy atmosphere that feels like a merging of diner + cafe bistro. They don't rush you, have solid white crockery, and a solid foundational menu. If you're looking for fancy shmancy trends, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an old school carrot cake with tart frosting, then this is the spot. The baby Cesar salad had visible anchovies and the chicken sandwich was a manageable size. Glad to have rediscovered an old favorite.

This is a nice brunch spot, with extended brunch hours on the weekends. It was convenient for my friend and me to try this place since we were around the area around 2PM. We ordered one regular latte and one Spanish latte The latte art seemed to last longer on the Spanish Latte. The eggs apple Benedict on French toast with maple syrup was warm, sweet, and savory (didn't get it with bacon but I assume that would have been delicious). There were whimsical elephant decorations and cute illustrations on the menu. I realized after leaving that we were a bit overcharged since the bill was not digital, but all handwritten. My friend and I ordered different meals with different prices but we were charged as if both of us ordered the more expensive meal.

This is a classic. All the food I've had when I've gone has been good. Our service was friendly and prompt, and it's been there since the 1970s in its original iteration and the decor is retro wood, in a good way, with lots of cute elephants. Good vibes.

The food is mediocre with no standout dishes. The brunch menu feels basic and overpriced, especially considering the $5 charge for an iced tea served in a small wine glass. The Canyonland eggs dish was disappointing, consisting of only cherry tomatoes, minimal avocado slices, and mushrooms. Overall, not worth the price. Service is decent, and ambiance is fine.
