Post rainy Sunday, we saw about 4 people in line from 4-4:30ish then the line grew like crazy 4:30-4:45. Recommend coming just a little before 4:30 to secure your spot as a walk-in!I was super excited to try out this place as i have heard many great things and i believe this year it is number 1 best bar in the US (and top like 20 in the world!). I admit i haven't tried extremely hard but every time i do check for reservations it seems to always be fully booked out.The bar utilizes its space very well with lots of cute decorations and coop like design. Every available space is prepared for seating but also in a comfortable way where you don't feel cramped with your neighbors. The bartender we had was extremely friendly and made the visit more enjoyable!Drinks |Cold Pizza - You can really taste the pizza and savory flavor of this drink! Although I can feel the alc, i don't taste it much so a very true deconstruction and reconstruction of a cold pizza. The coolest thing is the tomato flavor that comes through. I believe the foam on top is the cheese and does have that essence in flavor. Probably not something I'd be choosing to drink as my go to, but a must try for the unique-ness and delicious to finish off! From all the drinks we had I'll rank this one 4th. 3.5/5Mango Sticky Rice - This has a light sweetness and great flavor overall! pretty well balanced. I love mango sticky rice as a dessert so i thought this would be my favorite and it was great but i loved the other drinks more. This was perfect for my partner who ordered two but for me it could use a bit more sweetness to mask the alc flavor more. From all the drinks we had I'll rank this one last (which is not bad at all since this is better than majority drinks at other places, just loved the others more ) 3.5/5Japanese cold noodle - Cucumber and almost vinegar type flavor comes forward in this drink. My partner didn't actually like it that much but for me it was very good and refreshing! From the drinks we had, I'll rank this one 3rd. 3.75/5Key lime pie - This was definitely a fan favorite as i saw the bartender making this the most for sure! Second most made was probably the mango sticky then cold pizza/ Japanese cold noodle. This is super yummy and great for people who like a little sour drink! its really cool because even though the drink is completely smooth, you can really taste the graham "crust" flavor come through in every sip balanced out perfectly with the key lime flavor. This was my favorite drink of the night! 5/5Custard bun - It comes with a delicious smelling bubble on top so make sure you take a whiff before you drink! This drink was so unique and so yummy! If you love custard buns i think you will like this. You can taste the egg custard and the slight sweet steamed bun flavors in every sip. The one downside I would say to this drink (and a really minor one) is that it has a very very very slight graininess to it. This might be on purpose since certain custard buns, usually the salted egg yolk custard has this texture (but amplify it by like 100x) and so maybe it is a plus to someone else but for me, i would have enjoyed it more if it was smooth. From all the drinks we had, I'll rank this one second! 4.75/5Food |Hot honey chicken sandwich - Very yummy sauce and moist chicken! not very crunchy but still very solid. 3.5/5Bolognese grilled cheese - I love the cheesiness and it comes out piping hot! Its less of a chicken sandwich dish and kind of reminiscent of chicken parm but with less chicken and in bread form. Good sauce and an underlayer of the crispy bits of a fried chicken below all the cheese. 3.25/5

Only good thing was the drinks !Went here as walkin and got a standing table , The entry has a bar and space is limited around the bar area . The inside seating area seemed really nice but hey I can't be up at midnight to book a table!!The drinks are what they pride themselves on and I must say they do an impressive job at that . I was told that they have recently renovated and updated their menu which for food I believe don't make sense to me !Ordered the lobster tempura and the stuffed chicken wings and both of them were average at best !!Now the drinks is where they clearly shine and the Pocket of Sweet which is their version of the old fashioned is the best Old Fashioned I've ever had.I would pop back in to grab a drink but won't be ordering the food ! Was hoping they had their chicken sandwich and a good food menu but nevertheless!!

I finally got to try Double Chicken Please and it did not disappoint. They have the most unique and fun cocktails, like this Custard Bun, NY Beet Salad, Key Lime Pie, and Cold Pizza, complete with an edible pizza sticker. I tried the Hot Honey and Salted Egg Yolk. Both were delicious! Definitely worth checking out this cool bar!The bar is divided into 2 sections: Free Range (the front) and The Coop (the back). Only the back bar has these signature cocktails and the chicken sandwiches. The front has a totally different menu so make sure when you line up, you ask to be seated in the back!Pro-tip: Line up before the bar opens at 5pm to get seated immediately. I was first in line when I lined up at 4pm on a Thursday, but as long as you get in line before 4:15, you *should* be able to get a seat. Otherwise, leave your name and number and wait to get called back for the next seating.

I'm not really a cocktail person but this was a fantastic experience! The drinks were amazing and the servers were great at explaining each drink and recommending what you personally would like.My favorite drinks would be the key lime and custard bun.Food was great as well, definitely recommend popcorn chicken over the sandwiches if you arent starving. It's good compliment to have with the drinks. Also recommend coming 30/40 minutes before opens there's already a line forming at that time but the line goes quick once they open.

This place is mind blowing with their artistic creativity in making drinks that tastes like actual food. Don't sleep on coming here to try out their cocktails in the back seating area. The wait times can be long so make sure to line up a little before their opening times to secure a spot quickly. We went on a weekday an we're able to get seated shortly after they opened for the day.Must tries are the Japanese Cold Noodle Soba and the Key Lime Pie!

Altered my brain chemistry! I really loved this place despite the wait. Free Range: I LOVE the menu concept here! Every cocktail is designed after a cartoon character. We got to try The Pooh, The Grand Lotus, and The Poisoned Apple. The Pooh was the favorite of the group, it was lightly sweet and honestly is probably my favorite cocktail of all time. We also had the Chicken and the Egg, which was like chicken and tofu stuffing that surrounds a soft boiled egg. Honestly, nothing special about it, so probably wouldn't get food in the frontroom. The Coop: The menu concept here was very innovative as well. Each cocktail was based off of a dish. We tried the Key Lime Pie, Mango Sticky Rice, and French Toast. I was really amazed by the Key Lime Pie because you could even taste the graham cracker crust, even though there weren't any like crumbs in there. The French Toast was also very good and probably my favorite cocktail in the back. For food, we went kind of crazy and got one of each of the chicken sandwiches. The hot honey was definitely the best flavor, I would skip the salted egg because personally did not taste anything spectacular, the bolognese is good for those who love cheese or chicken parm, and the mochi donut was so creative and very flavorful. I really liked the strawberry glaze or jam on top cause it was a little spicy. The wait: My friends and I waited in line for like 30 min to put our names down on the waitlist. We went when it was cold outside and they were kind enough to give us hot tea as we waited. We put one of our names down for the Free Range (front room) which was a 30-40 min wait, and we had to put another friend's name down for the Coop (backroom), which was a 4 hour wait. There are plenty of things to do around the area while you wait! Definitely try to make a rez if you can though.

Been wanting to come here ever since I saw the Eater episode on Youtube. Apparently they were named the #1 best bar in N. America last year. I was able to make a 9:30pm reservation for The Coop. Upon arriving, we had to stand outside and check in with the host. About 5 mins later, we got to go in and they walked us to the back room and we got seated next to the bar. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks and each of us ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. It wasn't until later we realized that one of us shouldve ordered the salted egg sandwich to try instead of all of us ordering the same sando. The hot honey sandwich was delicious but it became a little too sweet towards the end of the sandwich after several bites. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it. Love the drink concept here. The menu consists of 3 sections: appetizers, mains, and desserts. We ordered:Cold pizzaJapanese cold noodle Custard bunKey lime pieMango sticky rice The drinks really did taste like the food except for the mango sticky rice. Everyone loved their drinks. The mango sticky rice had a really distinct tea flavor to it which I enjoyed but my bf did not. It was definitely different. The custard bun was sweet and was really good. My bfs favorite was the Japanese cold noodle. Service could have been better though. Our server didn't take the time to explain the menu. He didn't come by at all to ask how we were doing and was no where to be found at one point when we were ready for the check.

Knowing that this was NYC's top bar on the "World's Best Bar 2024" list, I knew that I had to see for myself what made this bar so great. Good thing to know before you come: 1) they have 2 sections of the store:Free range: the section you see from the outside windows. More like bar stool seating. They have a totally different drink menu from coop/more appetizer foods. Coop: is hidden towards the back of the shop (there is dark lighting). There are definitely more comfortable seating. More filling foods like full chicken sandwiches, totally different drink menu from free range. 2) They do allow walk-ins. You can come early to put your name on a wait list. They will text you when your table is ready & hold your table for 10mins. It seems that free range opens up quicker than the coop. 3) In the coop, they enforce a 2hr time limit per party. They will give you a warning in advance in case you wanted to order another round of drinks before you eventually have to give up your table to other waiting patrons. I invited 2 friends to come with me on a weekday. I arrived to the store around 15 min after the store opened. The store already seemed quite busy. There wasn't a line, but the seats were filling up. There was space for free range, but opted to put my name down for the coop. I was told that the approx wait would be around 1hr 30min, but within an hour, we were called back in. After we finally got seated in the coop section, we browsed the menu. I decided to opt for the MANGO STICKY RICE as my drink of choice. I personally didn't prefer it because the rum was stronger than the sweet mango sticky rice taste, but I did end up finishing anyways. If you want sweeter, French Toast & Custard Bun seemed sweeter from my taste of it. I chose HOT HONEY CHICKEN SANDWICH as my food of choice.I have to give super high praises for these chicken sandwiches! I don't know how they make it, but the outside is super crunchy and inside is so soft to bite ~The combination of the sauces pairs well together. And they stack on big chicken pieces between a brioche bun neatly packed into a paper wrap, so that your hands don't get too dirty. I was impressed by it all! It's super filling - it's a whole meal. Highly recommended! My friends and I decided to order the SHITAKE MUSHROOMS. It comes with 3 pieces, so it was perfect for us to share. The top is mushroom and the bottom is bread. The mushroom itself was really so nice. It's a solid appetizer choice.Overall, I enjoyed my experience. The servers were very nice. They explained every food/drink. The chicken sandwiches alone are worth coming back for! The ambience was very chill. The food/drinks aren't super cheap, but nothing too surprising for Manhattan pricing (and it was well crafted). It was also really nice to chat with friends for a good solid 2hrs over food/drinks.

We were able to walk in and get a table on a cold Saturday night! The vibes in here are super cute but it is very tightly packed. Popcorn chicken 4/5Great flavoring on the chicken! Got it with the salted egg yolk dipping sauce which was fun and unique. Mochi donut chicken sandwich 3/5A lot going on and really hard to get a good bite due to the size. It felt like a bit of a random assortment of items Hot honey chicken sandwich 4/5It was pretty good and satisfying but it needed something acidic to balance out the flavors Chicken liver mousse 4/5Really good bread and the bites were amazing with hot honey. I wanted the butter to be a little easier to spread Shiitake mushroom poppers 4/5Really delicious bites and a very unique flavor. Had a bit of cocoa dusting as well

We stopped by close to midnight on a Thursday and were able to get in with no wait! I don't think I'll ever be able to get in earlier than that otherwise. This is one of the few popular spots online that truly met my expectations. I ordered the Japanese Cold Noodles and my friends got the Key Lime Pie and the Dirty Margarita. The Key Lime Pie is one of the best I've ever had and the Japanese Cold Noodles was SO interesting. It left me thinking back to my drinks for days. Since it was so late we unfortunately couldn't get any chicken, so I'll have to make my way back for the food. On the other hand, it was so late so we had a round of mezcal shots. They were pretty weak so I don't think this is a good spot to go crazy on shots.I'm giving four stars for now, but hoping I can come back and bring this up to five!
