Since amazing Korean food is what I grew up with, I'm VERY critical when it comes to Korean food joints. I was pleasantly surprised by this spot. Yes it's a bit pricier than most Korean BBQ places in Ktown but the quality of the meat, their banchan (side dishes), the service, and ambiance were well worth the pricetag! Dinner for 5, 4 males/1 female, came out to closer to $350ish including tip, but that was all pretty much food lol (4 sodas and 1 beer). The usual suspects of brisket, marinated short rib, pork belly were all prime cuts and super delicious but the stars of the night were their beef tongue bbq (ordered 2 orders of this) and their bulgogi grill pan!! Oh and their pepper & scallion pancake and their seafood pancake were perfectly crisp and delicious too plus I didn't come out of their smelling like Korean BBQ smoke so that's a BIG ++ in my book!

For how much this place cost, wow was this experience not up to par. Ambiance was loud but definitely the style of Korean bbq, friends and family gathering. My group and I ordered platters of meat with multiple rounds of more cuts. Tell me why they cooked every single piece of that round at the same time even if they were different cuts. Someone spoke up about it in order for it to be done meanwhile it was only that one side. A chunkier portion is not going to be cooked at the same speed as a smaller one. We ended with multiple burnt meat pieces.Drinks: Strong but definitely an amazing flavor. I had the lychee martini and it was good, worth the price.Service: Wow I was so disappointed. I was a part of a large party and tell me why I felt this was such poor treatment. It's a loud environment, please don't give me attitude when I'm trying to repeat a drink order multiple times and you are still not hearing me. Two, one of my guests was on the taller side, and food was being placed over his head without any indication that they were there. Imagine the injury that could've happened.Overall, not bad food but I don't know if it's worth your price considering they burnt pieces on our order. Service requires heavy improvement.

Really delicious high quality meat and food. We started off with the beef tartare and japchae, highly recommend getting both, it was one of the best I had. You can't go wrong with the meats they had, the one that stood out to me the most was the marinated boneless short ribs, so flavorful and juicy. Service was good and workers were really nice. They provided banchan and they came often to refill our sauces and banchan we requested for. I would definitely be coming back!

I thoroughly enjoyed coming here! I made a reservation for dinner on a Tuesday night with a friend. She got there before me and they still sat her at a table. We ordered the house infused lychee soju, which was INCREDIBLE. It was so tasty I would come back just to get this drink again. For food, we ordered 2 meats: prime yangnyeom galbi (marinated, boneless prime beef short ribs) and wine samgyeopsal (pork belly marinated in cabbage sauv). I loved them both. The marinated short ribs were so good, I could've eaten ALL of it haha and I usually don't like pork belly but I really enjoyed this one. We also got the haemul soondubu (soft tofu and seafood stew with egg) - I thought this was just okay, but they did not skimp on the seafood!Honestly the meats and drinks were 10/10 and would come back for those. The ambiance is fun, and I like that they grill the meats for us at our table.

Love that it is generally pretty easy to get a table here for a party of 2-4 even without a reservation sometimes, making it a great backup restaurant for when other places have long wait times (not that it should be a backup!). Most or all of the items I've ordered here have been quite good. Would especially recommend their marinated galbi and you can't go wrong with any of their soups. Dons Bogam also always has yummy banchan and in my opinion it's better banchan than most of the other Korean BBQ spots in Koreatown.

LOVED this place. Being a vegetarian I'm usually skeptical about Korean food but I was so pleasantly surprised. I got the kimchi pancakes for apps which were so good. For mains we got the japchae - amazing, veg bibimpap and kimchi soondubu which was my favorite thing. So flavorful I couldn't stop eating it.

Dons Bogam is one of my favorite Korean BBQ restaurants in NYC. I've always liked the recessed tables with the circular grill in the middle and the exhaust vents. The kimchi side is excellent. We had the steamed shumai, the spicy marinaded prime rib eye steak (which really wasn't that spicy), the bulgogi in broth.

Dons Bogam in K-town is a Korean bbq and wine bar with a bit of a more upscale ambiance. We had the seafood and scallion pancake, glass noodles and dumplings to start (along with some house infused lychee soju). For the meat course, we had the Prime Yangnyeom Galbi (prime beef short ribs) and Prime Maeun Galbi (prime beef short ribs marinated in spicy sauce). For accompaniments we enjoyed the Saeu gui (jumbo shrimp), Maeun Jaeyuk Buchu Dolsot (stir fried spicy pork) and Beoseot Modum Dolsot (mixed mushroom and bell pepper over rice). We ended with a bulgogi hot pot with vegetables and glass noodles. For those looking for a bit of a nicer Korean bbq place, Dons Bogam fits the bill

Ordered: fried dumplings, japchae, spicy marinated prime rib steak, thinly sliced brisket, LA galbiThe service was great, they grilled your meat for you and our server was very knowledgeable. It was fun sitting in the sunken table and I appreciated how well ventilated the restaurant was- there was no bbq smell on us when we left. For 4 people, 3 orders of meat was the perfect amount. The japchae noodles were bouncy and seasoned well. The meat was grilled perfectly. My favorite was the LA galbi- it's so flavorful! Plenty of banchan for the table to share.
