Domodomo strikes again! The food here is always delicious as the fish is fresh, and they put a unique spin on each dish! The staff is also very kind and attentive. To start I had a snow flower cocktail which was tasty. We shared the tuna cones, shrimp dumplings and octopus. All were tasty but the tuna cones were my favorite. For the handrolls, I had miso cod, blue crab, toro, and unagi. I was a bit hesitant with the unagi since it came with chocolate sauce but it complemented the fish nicely. My friend got the spicy salmon which was topped with potato chips which she enjoyed. All were tasty but my favorites were the miso cod and blue crab!I look forward to my next visit at Domodomo!

I came to DOMO DOMO twice already and I loved both of my visits. The "omakase" experience is a bit different compared to others. They offer their own interpretation, hence, "domokase". It's their own set course menu which includes many small dishes and premium seasonal sushi. The pictures I have is a combination of both dinner experiences. I don't remember everything I've had but oh my gosh! It was so goddamn yummy. Each bite was amazing. The service was fantastic as well despite being packed for both evenings. I love the ambiance! It is such a cute date night experience. The lights are dimmed, the noise isn't overwhelming, and the decor is lovely. The domokase set is seasonal so they change it up time to time. The dishes I had will probably not be there currently but I love the idea of trying new things every time I come back.

Greetings from California! As a resident of the coastline areas of Santa Barbara to San Diego to Los Angeles, I am confident to say I am familiar with sushi quality and have firm expectations of its preparation. Prior to breaking down my review, I must recommend the lunch prices for the set menu which have exceeded my expectations. For $24 of the assorted sushi meal set, I believe you'll get more than reasonable quantities with superb quality. Both my partner and I ordered the assorted sushi lunch meal for $24 each. Accommodations for my partner's allergies were near-flawless. Their allergy accommodation replacements for the gyoza for more edamame were decent(could be better) while their toro replacement for the futomaki was delicious and made it worth it.Whereas my assorted sushi meal included the gyoza, miso soup, 5 pieces of assorted sushi, 2 pieces of futomaki, edamame, and potato-cucumber salad. The gyoza, edamame, miso soup was standard, store-quality. Meanwhile each of the assorted sushi was delicious. The fish cuts were generous and fatty. I had savored every bite and found myself wanting more. The surprise to me was under the fish. There was another set of seasoning on the rice, under some of the fish that honestly was delicious but occasionally overpowered the fish flavor. Especially for the tuna, I wish there was less wasabi as I was unable to taste any of the tuna which was very disappointing and tear-inducing. Once after the sushi, I was worried that the lunch wouldn't be filling until I got to the futomaki. The futomaki mouthfuls were delicious and a flavor bomb. Wow. Finally, the potato-cucumber salad was a refreshing side dish. I never had a potato salad like such and it was very cool and refreshing at the end of a hearty filling meal.Service-wise, all three waiters and waitresses did a great job on checking on us and for thoroughly ensuring no allergies/cross contamination occurred. Thank you.Ambiance was great and suitable for the meal served. However, I found the tables too crowded together, making it difficult to move around and for the waiter to check in with their customers. The closeness was too uncomfortable in which we've had close unwanted encounters with other customers who overhear our conversations.Otherwise, I hope the feedback I provided was thorough enough and I would recommend anyone to come dine here. I found this place via Instagram.

The food is tasty and the fish is fresh but the eating experience reads messy. The handrolls are more like tacos with the fillings overflowing. Once you take a bite, the inside oozes out and falls out. The seaweed also retains moisture so it is difficult to take multiple bites of the handroll, thus leaving you with the first mouthful of fish and the second is rice and seaweed. I did like that there was sampler option that included many options of the nigiri and handrolls.Overall, I feel the price was expensive for what it was. There are many Japanese dining options within walking distance and I would try one of those next time I am in the area.

We came here for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't too crowded. You can hear the subway rumble by every once in a while but the ambiance is cozy and nice. We did two sushi hand roll sets. The salmon starter with avocado was delicious. The sushi pieces were decent quality but the rice was a little too cold. The miso cod hand roll was good but had too much rice and was very hard to eat. The blue crab hand roll was just fine. The service was quick and efficient (clearing plates as soon as you finished).

I have been wanting to go to a hand roll place for the longest time. Domodomo has been a Michelin bib gourmand awardee since 2017, and it did not disappoint! The food was so tasty, the service was great, and the interior design is beautiful. I got:- Sushi handroll course:* edamame (truffle salt)* 10 pc assorted seasonal sushi* salmon handroll w this apple butter dipping sauce* ochazuke (branzino in chicken dashi, potato salad, japanese pickles)- A bunch of handrolls- Katsu sando- Uni + squid ink pasta10/10!!

The decor is great, clean, retains elements of Japanese culture yet modern and I love the GIF arts on the wall.Service is amazing, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Server explained each course in detail for the omakase set when serving the dishes.Overall, I love the cooked foods more than the raw fish dishes. Half of the nigiris were less than desirable in terms of texture of the fish, very mushy though not fishy. The scollops were buttery and soft, very good.Squid ink pasta was unexpectedly delicious, it's so flavorful and with so many textures going on. I want a full serving of just this, since it screams clean plate club if you know what I mean.Hojicha puddings were amazing as well, but could do without the crispy rice bits.

Been awhile since I've come here and the menu has changed a lil bit. Uni pasta is not for me but only because of the uni. My sister wanted to try it. Lots of uni flavor on it. The pasta was good though. The handrolls are so good. Definitely would get again. Wonderful service.
