Was craving soup noodle on a freezing cold day so decided to stop it. It's a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and then sit in the back. I got the two meats noodle soup with wonton and roast pork while my friend got the wonton noodle soup. The wontons were huge and succulent with snappy shrimp and savory pork. The roast pork was so tender and fatty and melt in your mouth! I did wish it was saltier but that could be due to it sitting in the soup. The noodles were also cooked perfectly and the veggies have a good crunch and freshness with all the meat. A perfect place to stop by for a quick lunch in midtown!

Genuinely not bad at all for a Times Square eat. I feel like the food near Times Square is always overpriced and not great but Dim Sum Sam was actually quite good. We got here for a weekday dinner and we were able to get a table quickly after placing our order.I ordered the Roast Duck Noodle Soup and it was quite good. I liked the rich broth paired with the Hong Kong style noodles. The duck also had the subtle sweetness to it although some parts were not super tender. I didn't care much for the vegetables in the dish. It was a solid noodle soup.Overall, not a bad eat at all especially if you're in the area. Something I thought was weird was that they placed a NYC sales tax on all the food which I feel like I haven't seen elsewhere. It seemed to be the same type of tax that you would get for buying clothes.

Do you want dim sum and take it on the go? This is the spot for you. It's a fast casual dim sum spot. So they have the food in to go boxes, which makes it easier to grab and go.They have some seats in the back, so we opted to dine in. So our steamed food are in the usual bamboo containers. Even though, the spot is located in Midtown West and it's more of a grab and go spot, I was pleased with the dim sums. The buns were warm and fluffy & the crispy pork belly had a good crunch. We ordered:Crispy Pork Belly White RiceSpicy Cucumber Duck Spring RollScallion Pancake Pan Fried Pork and Chive DumplingCrispy Pork BunShrimp DumplingSui MaiBBQ Pork BunJuicy Pork DumplingJuicy Pork and Crabmeat DumplingSweet Egg Yolk BunSeafood Rice Noodle RollEven though, we ordered so much food, if you split the bill amongst friends, the bill isn't too bad.

TLDR: A fast-casual Chinese eatery offering a range of dim sum and traditional dishes. While some items provide good value and flavor, others fall short. The brightly lit dining area lacks ambiance, making it more suitable for a quick meal than a leisurely dining experience.Pros:-Reasonable Prices: Dishes range from $6.50 to $13.95, fair for the area.Ample Seating: Plenty of seating available in the back.-Quick Service: Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called.Cons:-Inconsistent Food Quality: Some dishes are flavorful, while others are forgettable.-Lack of Ambiance: The dining area is brightly lit to the point of being clinical, detracting from a cozy dining experience. The Food:-Pork Wonton Soup ($13.95): Flavorful broth with moist and tasty wontons. Ideal for warming up on a cold afternoon.-Crispy Pork Belly Over Rice ($12.95): Crispy skin, a layer of flavorful fat, and tender pork belly, balanced with rice and Chinese broccoli. A decent meal offering good value.-Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow) ($7.25): Priced on the higher side for an order of four, but typical for New York. The dumplings are forgettable; order only if you're specifically craving them.-Chicken Feet ($6.95): Described as adequate by my dining companion. A bit pricey; personally, I'd skip it, but it might satisfy if you're in the mood.-Seafood Rice Noodle Roll ($6.50): Contains shrimp and scallop. Decent but not up to par in my opinion.Ambiance:The dining room in the back is brightly lit and clean, but the intense lighting creates a clinical atmosphere, reminiscent of a hospital, lacking warmth and inviting ambiance.Would I Return? Rating:Only if I'm in the area and craving Asian food. The convenience and some flavorful dishes are positives, but the inconsistent food quality and lack of ambiance make it unlikely for me to go out of my way to visit again.

We didn't know that this place had no table service. Intent was to have an early birthday lunch with coworkers but ended up individually ordering and bringing our own food back to our tables, which there were plenty in the back. In the back, there's a sauce station that has soy sauce, sriracha, hot oil, etc. along with utensils. At the front, you order at the register and wait for your number to get called. I ordered the shrimp and pork wonton noodle soup along with a whole roasted duck to share with my coworkers. There were 6 wontons and they were huge. It's so worth the price, tbh. The shrimp dumplings (har gow) were also big and tasty (and my fave). The duck was a bit too oily for me but the crispy pork belly was delish. Would def be back for a quick lunch or to get dim sum delivered.

This place is meh, nothing grand. It was close by to where we were, so we gave it a chance, the food wasn't horrible but was not good either. The soup (BBQ Roast Duck Noodle Soup & Shrimp and Pork Wonton Soup) was very bland (no flavor at all) and service is what you would expect for a place near Time Square. The best thing we tried was the duck pastries, crispy pork belly and spring rolls, everything else was below mediocre. For the amount of money, it was not worth it at all and we will not return, so many other great places to try. Best to hit up Chinatown, which isn't too far from this place.

This place has good bones; the capacity to be an amazing Chinese food experience. However it misses the mark a bit. First the good: the location near Times Square is PERFECT for drawing in tourists. In fact while I was there I saw two groups of tourists arrive. The price - for a restaurant near Times Square - is actually very reasonable. It's a clean and spacious space. Second the mediocre: while the space is clean, it's so bright and so white that it feels like a high school cafeteria. It doesn't feel like a restaurant serving home cooked meals. It feels cold and anesthetic. The food itself is a hit or miss. Half of our meal was absolutely delicious, the other half was just okay. For example the shumai felt as if they had been frozen and microwaved. However the duck was delicious. Third the bad: customer service. There was not a single smile by any employee in the place. Service felt robotic. A tourist in front of me commented to the cashier about his best dim sum experience in Hong Kong and she didn't even acknowledge him. A small formality but definitely makes a difference. This place needs some tweaking to become a really good restaurant.

Casual place to get Dim Sum. We were handed a menu when we told them we wanted to dine in. The seating is limited. We live in Minnesota and traveled to New York. The prices were very relative. We stayed at the Riu, so we walked a few blocks off Time Square (out of the crowds). Self serve sauce station. For "quick" dim sum, we were quite impressed.

Great quick spot for time square. It's decent dim sum for the area and the fast casualness of it all. The duck was not good though, everything else was yummy.Good came out in line 8 mins. Barely waited. The only gave one napkin which is odd.
