We've walked by this place hundreds of time and never walked in, but finally decided to this past Sunday. The smells in this place is amazing and instantly transports you back to Spain. The front of the restaurant is a Spanish deli selling cookbook, cured meats and other deliciousness. We walked to the back counter and saw some pinxtos that caught our eye. We ordered the octopus and the anchonvy toast. My God, that anchovy toast was the most flavorful and amazing bite. The goat cheese, chili jam, and saltiness of the anchovy married perfectly together to create the best bite you've put in your mouth. We will be back, if not just got that anchovy again.

My go to place for pinxtos. Good selection. Always pick up some foreign groceries as well. Sandwiches are tasty as well and we love the tomato soup.

Was craving a light lunch one rainy afternoon and this place popped up!It was exactly what I needed in terms of small Spanish tapas with a great glass of red wine.It is a Spanish style deli/market with dry meats, and lots of other imported Spanish goods. The service was quick and efficient.

I recently stopped by Despaña for a quick weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Spanish experience they offer. The cafe is a true gem, doubling as a gourmet Spanish marketplace stocked with premium foods straight from Spain. The moment you step inside, you feel transported to the Iberian Peninsula.I ordered the Picante Sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was packed with flavor, with just the right amount of kick. The bread was fresh and perfectly crusty, and the meats were incredibly delicious, clearly of high quality. It's evident that Despaña takes pride in sourcing the finest ingredients.Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or looking to explore authentic Spanish products, Despaña Cafe is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and try more of their menu!

I wanted to visit DeEspaña to purchase miniature chorizo snack bags. I was not aware that they also have a variety of ready-made pinxos, open-face sandwiches (tostas), croquetas as well as a great selection of wines by the glass. I took advantage that every last Saturday of the month they have a promotion for these tostas and pinchos. They also have a, we'll-stocked mini-market with imported Spanish olive oils, canned seafood, Calasparra rice (for authentic paellas) and many other products (they are importeras themselves). The food was delicious and the service was even more delightful. Highly recommended!

So cute - I felt like I was teleported back to Spain with the wide selection of meats, sandwiches and tapas. Will have to come back to try some of their drinks too! There's a seating area tucked away and it was pretty empty when I visited around 5pm on a Thursday - would love to grab a book or do some work there if possible.I tried their tortilla and croquette. The tortilla wasn't the usual taco kind you see in shops, but was more of an omelette in the shape of a pie filled with potatoes, meat and more. So yum! I could see this being such a great breakfast snack. The croquette was sooo good but too creamy for my stomach and very expensive for the portion size ($4 for a small bite sized ball). I'd get that as a splurge if I'm really craving but wouldn't get it every time. Service was great. It really doesn't feel like restaurant service but felt more like a takeout situation where they bring you your food and all on plates but you have to get your own water and can mind your own business as you eat. All good for the quick snack we were eating.

Excellent selection of all spanish deliciousness. I bought some chorizo, crackers and cheese. Always a treat - i was so tempted to get one of my favorite sandwiches, el picante, but I held off (but I now have the ingredients to make one).

The Bocadillos at Despaña Soho are truly something special. I had the jamón sandwich, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The bread was perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crispness on the outside, while the inside remained soft and fresh. The jamón itself was packed with flavor, balancing saltiness and richness in every bite. Each ingredient was clearly chosen with care, making for a perfectly executed sandwich. If you're craving an authentic taste of Spain, this is a must-try!

We all have watched Twilight Zone ( original with Roy Serling) right? I'm a huge fan btw thus, I had a Twilight Zone experience when I walked through the doors of Despaña.. one foot in and I thought I was in Barcelona.. better.. a mini La Boqueria. All my senses were transported back to beautiful Barcelona. And like Alice in Wonderland.. I..was.. THERE!Walking through Mercado de Despana, my eyes didn't know where to look first! When you enter, you are first in the market part of store: spices, pastries, cheeses, paella pans and mixes and like a kid in a candy store, I want EVERYTHING!You then move to the ordering counter where you can order bocadillos, soup, salads to go and of course flan! There a numerous options of wines...I decided to eat like a Spaniard and ordered bread with tomatoes and cheese.I then found my seat.. and what a cool way to dine! Long white marble tables that are adjacent to an area that sells cookbooks, cazuelas and more.My sandwich arrived and.. first.. bite.. Que Rico! Manchego cheese and tomato! I was so tempted to order a glass of wine but this was a work lunch thus couldn't ( but I'll be back for that post work)Of course I stopped by the market on my way out and bought a mini sheep's cheese and my favorite crackers, Ines Rosales, orange flavor.Que chèvre indeed!Despana is another addition to my home away from home!
