Davelle has two shops: a restaurant and more of a cafe section. Be sure to enter the right one if you want their food! The inside of the cafe is pretty small with bar seating and only a couple tables, so get their early or make a reservation! Staff was very kind. When I went, I got their curry toast and black sesame latte while my friend got their miso soup and hojicha. Both drinks were so yummy, but I highly HIGHLY recommend trying out their black sesame/kinako latte. Curry toast was also really good and the perfect bite for a small meal! I would love to come back to their some of their sweet toasts and bigger entrees!

I took one star off because it just didn't live up to the hype. I had higher expectations because of all the recommendations and comments I was getting. But still a nice place to try out. The presentation of everything we had was very pretty. Pretty small space and their menu was very diverse.

I couldn't resist the allure of the beautifully crafted toasts and had to give them a try. While they were definitely worth the experience, I wouldn't splurge on them regularly--more of a one-time indulgence for me. That said, the chicken katsu was absolutely delicious, and I'd explore their other options on my next visit. The ambiance is charming and the service is great! The space is quite small, so I'd recommend arriving right when they open. It's a great spot to bring out-of-town visitors. Still, it's undeniably a cute and memorable space!

I have been keen to try out Davelle for ages now, but haven't come by since the idea of queueing for their busy weekend brunches does not interest me as much. So, I was excited to take the chance of not working during this holiday season to come by for a weekday lunch. I came by myself around 1pm, and was able to get seated at the bar immediately. I think there was always at least 1 seat available while I was there, but some parties of 2 did have to wait a bit ( not too long, maybe 20 min max?).I have to point out first that the interior design is so lovely, the neutral colour palette across the kissaten-style fixtures was just a very calm environment to eat in, and I really enjoyed being able to sit at the bar and watch, amongst other things, the coffee dripping down or the toasts being prepared.Anyway, I ordered the mentai spaghetti, a miso soup, and a iced matcha latte. The miso soup came first, and the presentation was a bit strange, since it was in two paper cups (like doubled up). It was fine-ish? A little bit too salty, and the miso sediment was too thick at the end to finish, but it served as a nice contrast to the pasta. The spaghetti was fantastic. I do generally perfer my pasta to be chewier/al dente, but Japanese pasta tends to be softer, which is fine. The sauce was really delicious - the creaminess was not too heavy, and the mentaiko mixed in was really the perfect amount - not too salty / savoury to overpower the rest of the dish. The shiso leaf was an interesting touch, I did have a hard time mixing it thoroughly in the pasta since it was largely stuck to the mentaiko on top, so I ended up getting a big dose of shiso in one bite lol.The matcha latte was also very good. The matcha flavour was very rich, and you can tell from that depth of flavour that they use very good quality matcha powder for their drinks. I heard some of their other drinks like the black sesame latte are even better, so I'll definitely have to give that a try next time.Price point was quite reasonable, and if it wasn't for the long typical weekend wait times I'd want to come back much more often haha. Lovely meal overall, would definitely recommend a visit!

We tried this place for my husband's birthday and it was very delicious! The space is much smaller than I thought it would be so be prepared to wait and i would not recommend big parties, although it's very cozy for a date :)We tried 2 different types of toast - the cheese curry and the black sesame with cream cheese. The cheese curry was only ok but i wouldn't get it again but the black sesame was interesting and delicious. We also got the uni spaghetti which I was eying for a while and it was very creamy and the noodles were chewy which i like so i would recommend it :) I also got their azuki latte and it's very sweet and very comforting but i just wish it was a bit hotter but it was ready to drink when they brought it to the table. The staff was very friendly and patient and we were able to be seated almost right away since we were only 2 people.

two combined buildings so don't get confused ! made this mistake & accidentally waited to long for food oops ! but it's a really cool place, as you can watch the chef make these masterpieces at the bar, or sit & wait patiently. very calm & relaxing, & i loved the touch of anime, kpop, & jpop music !i got the cream cheese & strawberry toast, which, mind the photo because it does not capture its glory. i sadly had to carry it through the heatwave & it melted on the way home: but it was SPECTACULAR nonetheless ! would love to try fresh one day. the bread was nice & squishy, fresh tasting, & the mix of sweet of the strawberry jam & the savory of the cream cheese was amazing.i hope to come back to try this again, along with their other savory & sweet toasts !

I think the inside is adorable, and the servers are the absolute sweetest. We came for the toast but honestly for the price I don't think it's worth it. We like the berry toast the most and thought that the sesame and red bean toast didn't really have any flavor. However, this is my favorite black sesame latte in the city so far.

(Overall: B) - Davelle is a small cafe serving Japanese-inspired drinks and cafe foods. They're known for their checkered toasts, which unfortunately I did not try this time. The food that I did try this time does display sparks of potential interest, and although high quality, weren't quite hitting the notes for me. They are a small hole in the wall that is walk in only so it could be difficult to get a table, but the staff were kind enough to replate the food after our table was ready when we had already ordered to-go.(Black Sesame Latte: C) - This drink could benefit from building dimensionality from adding a sweetness like red bean or white chocolate, as well as a bitnerness coming from espresso. As it stands, it tastes exactly like a matcha latte replacing the matcha with black sesame, where I wish their special drink did not require customization.(Uni Spaghetti: B) - I was impressed by the depth of flavor coming through in a seemingly simple pasta, which shows the command of seasoning used here. The uni is also fresh and not metallic, which was quite a pleasant treat. I do wish the dish added more substance beyond just noodles though.--Food: EPresentation: EPrice: EAtmosphere: EService: +1Menu: +1Overall: +2 BInsta/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

I got the cinnamon and butter toast and a black sesame kinako latte. It was really a really good combo especially since it was really cold today. The restaurant is in a very small space but the seating layout was a good use of space. I got my order really quickly and the servers were really attentive and refilled my water.

I visited Davelle on a Friday afternoon and was able to get seated immediately at the counter. We got the mentaiko & mayo toast, and the uni pasta. We also got two matcha drinks with the coffee jelly. The drinks were pretty good - the coffee jelly was an interesting texture and unique addition to the matcha. However, I am unsure if I can recommend Davelle, solely due to the price. The Mentaiko toast (which is essentially a single piece of pretty toast with some mayo on it) was $12. I did not think the toast was worth the value at all; it was good for the gram, but probably ends there lol. The uni pasta was mediocre as well.
