I love this restaurant! My wife and I have been here several times but the most recent visit made it incredibly special. We've always made reservations and made the dinner a dressy event. It's 100% worth it and never disappoints. Our last visit we were walking through the city and walked past the restaurant. No reservation. Dressed nicely but dressed nicely for a walk through the city - not for dinner at Daniel. No tables available but we were offered two seats at the bar. An amazing experience. Not as formal but every bit as good. To me, even better. Food is always incredible. Service over the top. And since we were at the bar a little more fun speaking with other patrons bartenders and servers throughout the dinner.

We booked before the star demotion and came away feeling like it was not a meaningful gesture. The trend now is to hate on Daniel. We didn't notice any of the referenced slippage in the food or presentation. Our only complaints were that the dinner was excruciatingly long and the dining room was at least ten degrees too warm. I left feeling that Per Se and Gabriel Kreuther may have pulled ahead, but to suggest that this restaurant should be skipped entirely is lunacy. To be honest, most people who chase the hottest tables in NYC should probably be starting here instead--this is the essence of fine dining.

I mean, this is Daniel. Do I really need to leave a review? Bottom line, it awesome. Surprisingly very affordable. Not cheap but a chef's tasting menu under $300 per person? Yes, please. As expected the service is impeccable here. They are friendly without being overbearing. Staff is very attentive noticing every fine detail to make sure your experience is the best it can be. We got seated in the dining room next to the bar and it was very cozy and comfortable. I cannot do justice to the food by describing it. You really have to experience it yourself. The fresh ingredients. Presentation. The flow of the tasting menu was all great. They've been doing this a long time. It's been 10 years since I last came here. It is then as it is now top of my list for high end fine dining.

Wow, one of the best restaurateurs and restaurants in North America IMHO. Incredible food and service 5 star food: the French modern with American twists food is simply fantastic. I'm not a huge food grad fan, but this was the best I've ever had, anywhere 5 star service: the service was so elegant it was like a PBS movie or maybe Downton Abbey. Perfect, smooth and almost completely silent gliding in and out5 star ambience: even the front door exudes Belle Epoque charm, or maybe Robber Baron charm. Either way, the spaces beautifully inside and out

Simply elegant and decadent experience! Enjoyed the chef tasting menu in February 2021, I can only imagine how much nicer it is now post Covid. The food is perfectly balanced and presented with an artists' flare. The drinks are smooth and strong. The service is white glove and attentive. Can't wait to go back for another celebration or life milestone!

What a fun experience!!!One of my Toastmaster buddies that used to live in NYC recommended this place to me.I was so impressed by everything about it. Top notch service, beautiful decor, and nice ambience. Interesting crystals on display on the way to the restroom. They really make you feel like part of the family, and not only was the food delectable and with a beautiful presentation it was so cozy.Went with the tasting menu that had 9 courses. I feel in love with the butter from France Maison Bordier Le Beurre Bordier. They helped me look it up on my phone since I don't speak French. I filled up on so much bread. LOL they kept bringing it out fresh out of the oven. I loved everything about this place and can't wait to come back and try it again.

We went back to Daniel this January for the first time since the pandemic to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we took the opportunity to turn it into a dress-up dinner date night. The whole experience was perfection. From the food, ambiance, to the impeccable service, we had a wonderful time and will be back to celebrate many more milestones! They re-did the entire interior since the pandemic, so if you haven't been back in a while, I highly recommend returning for a wonderful evening.

The restaurant is beautiful and luxurious, everything you would expect from Daniel Boulud. The hostess was very accommodating when our table wasn't ready for a bit when we got there. The service was absolutely impeccable- placement, care, and attention were 5 stars. Even the maitre d' came over to welcome us and introduce himself. The sommelier was fantastic and picked the perfect bottle for what we explained to him. The food was good, but frankly I was expecting more from the flavors. The plating was spectacular and it was certainly a show! We did the 9 course tasting menu, which was a bit too much for us. Because we didn't love everything, we said we'd go with the 5 course next time, so we have options and we can select what we want to eat. Still recommend going for the experience and ambiance!

Elegant set up, great, attentive service, and delicious food. Went in for a dinner with friend. We were greeted well from the moment we walked in. Food was huge portion! In the end we could barely finish the desset course so we packed a few to go. The vibe is very classy, festive, great for family, friends or date.

First off, I do have to say it was a one of a kind experience from a service standpoint. It was definitely a fine dining experience. Our amuse bouche was a course in itself with four different options presented in a very creative/ornate under the sea way. There was a complimentary warm bread service. I wish we were less self-conscious and asked for more bread. They had four different options ranging from brioche to what appeared like a cheddar bagel. For my first entree, I got the foie gras followed by the abalone which was very unique in presentation and taste. The salmon course was probably one of the best salmon I've ever had. For the last entree, I chose the pork one which was not very good. I forget what I didn't like about it, but I coudn't finish it. The beef was much better, which was what my partner got. The dessert options were interesting. I won't say it's their strong suit. We also got complimentary dessert as well. You definitely leave the 5 course meal very satiated. Given some hits and a changing menu, I would come back again
