A very good hotpot restaurant with friendly staff and a good range of vegetarian options. The ability to order from a tablet at the table is super convenient. They have a great range of meats, veggies and tofu.Suitable for vegetarians and vegans too.The ambience is pretty standard for a downtown Chinese restaurant, know this place gets busy!

Try: Pork Soup and Spicy Beef with Carnivore Meat Combo! Why: Solid Hot Pot in Chinatown! We did double soup combo with Pork Soup and Spicy Beef Soup based. I liked the Pork Soup more and even sipped on a bowl of broth at the end! Spicy Beef was really spicy, which my friend loved. Got the Carnivore Meat Combo with Beef and Pork Belly slices, which were delicious. Added Vegetable Platter, Ramen noodles, and Jumbo Shrimp. For sauces I enjoyed the Peanut and Hoisin Sauces. I liked they had tons of scallions and cilantro too. They also had seaweed appetizer and orange slices dessert. Had a fun meal with friends!Notes: We went at opening on a Sunday so it was not busy yet. Still made reservations just in case. We sat near the window, which had a nice view of Canal Street. Good amount of large table seatings for groups of 4 or more. Workers were friendly. They were not as attentive and I had to track someone down for more water. They also ran out of ladles. I appreciated the bag to keep jackets and bags to prevent smell getting in it. Bathroom was large and clean. Overall, good dining experience to celebrate the Lunar New Year on a chilly day.

We went during lunch on a weekday for AYCE. It was very empty, there was only one other table. The ambiance was very nice. The staff was also very nice, especially the girl that helped us that day. The guy was nice too but he was too soft spoken. We were not able to hear anything at all.To start off, I want to say that the AYCE menu is tad smaller than their usual menu but I do not have a problem with that. It makes sense. We asked for the spicy broth and the pork bone broth. Both were very nice. The spicy broth got too spicy real quick and the girl helped us scoop out a bowl of the oil. I enjoyed it but I also suspect that it was the spice that left me in the bathroom for days (first time ever happening to me though. I have had the mala broth choices at other hotpot places). At hotpot places, I always go ham on the fatty beef. The quality was quite nice. I also liked their soybean sticks. They were veeeeeeery smooth, like a baby's butt. I was only sad that they did not have watercress here nor enoki mushroom. Those are usually must-haves for me in terms of vegetables.I would come back again for lunch if given the opportunity. Too bad sneaking out of the office is a bad habit. Don't learn from me.

The place is very compact. The table is barely large enough for 4 adults and we have to put our jackets in a black bag that keeps toppling over. The sauce bar is pretty limited.I came from AYCE lunch special on Thursday for $30 per person. It includes broth and soda. The spicy broth and pork bone broth was very good quality. It added a lot of flavor to the cooked items. The selection for AYCE was pretty good, but the quality of beef decreased as our meal progressed. I did like their fish balls with roe, very soft.Overall, I don't think I would come here for dinner but maybe a AYCE lunch with just one other person because the table was so small

It's more of a 3.5 star for me.. place is pretty nice, can be taken care more especially the front area. Service was excellent, servers were very nice and attentive. The food..hmm..it's alright. Soup was pretty good, but not very memorable, sauce was alright, meat and vegetable was quite good. But the overall food experience was just okay for me.. Not saying never, but unsure if I'll come back..Didnt order any beverage,I ended up paying around $55 with tax and tips.

Update: Ordered delivery via Grubhub and got the beef mala tang with few additions. I've been to this restaurant before when it first opened. They're known for their spicy butter hot pot, which was really spicy even at the lowest spice level. I was glad they were available for delivery since I was craving mala tang on a chilly night. It hit the spot and portion size was big. It came with ingredients to make your own dip but wish they also gave chili oil. The food was still warm when I got it and enjoyed it with a glass of beer.

My first hot pot experience, and it was great! Da Long Yi felt authentic, and we certainly got our money's worth. The menu here is quite extensive, you have your pick of meats, seafood, sides, and vegetarian options, as well as an assortment of broths to cook with. There were also desserts that sounded good, but we didn't have any room left to try them. There's a sauce station toward the back of the restaurant, it felt a little 'Red Lobster' in terms of the communal aspect, and got quite crowded during peak dinner. But it was nice to have good options for dipping. The food looked and tasted fresh, hard to hide bad ingredients when they come out raw for you to cook at the table! You'll probably spend around $50-60 per person for a good amount of food, not including drinks. Not a bad spot for a big hot pot meal!

Came here on a raining Saturday for lunch, and it surprisingly wasn't too packed. This is actually one of my first few times getting non-AYCE hot pot. There was a pretty large variety of items to choose from, they had all the classic items I usually order and my group even chose some items I'd never had before. The quality overall felt pretty good, although some of the cuts of beef we ordered was a little on the tougher side. Service was also amazing and incredibly friendly, it probably also helped that the place wasn't too crowded.

Food: This is one of my favorite hot pot restaurants in NYC! I came for their AYCE lunch special for $29.99 per adult (children are $19.99). There are 52 items included as well as drinks (canned sodas) and broth. This lunch special is a great deal because one can easily spend $70/person ordering a la carte here. Without the lunch special, this place usually charges for the broth. Two items, beef with egg and handmade shrimp paste, is limited to one per table. Other hot pot items include chicken, beef, lamb, pork belly, fish balls, veggies, taro, tofu, fried tofu skin rolls, noodles, lotus root, quail eggs, and more. The lunch special is only for Monday through Thursday from noon to 3 PM. The last seating is at 2:30 PM. I would also recommend this place when they don't have their lunch special as long as you don't mind paying more. The quality at this place does make up for the cost. Service: Service was excellent here. The staff were attentive and so friendly. They came by to refill the soup constantly without me having to ask. Their iPad also has a button to call waitstaff which is a nice feature. Ambiance: The decor and feel of the restaurant is beautiful. Seating is comfortable and spacious. They don't seem to have big tables so if you come as a large group, you might have to sit at separate tables. Each side of the table has drawers for napkins and a side shelf/table in case your dishes can't fit on the table itself. A very thoughtfully designed place. Overly, I highly recommend this restaurant!
