Walked into an empty restaurant to order a late lunch. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is cozy and warm with a back patio and well-thought out tables and decor. The winner was the Baja shrimp taco - wish I got two of these! I also ordered the jicama salad, pork carnitas and chicken taco. Seems like a great spot to meet up friends for a casual lunch or dinner. Definitely take advantage of the back patio while it's still decent weather! Would return to try other menu items and drinks.

Possibly my new favorite spot to get vegan Mexican food in New York??It was a warm night when we visited, so everyone was eating in the covered backyard area. We started with the famed jicama salad and were very impressed. It's packed with flavor with so many interesting fruit slices and tons of lime and tajin. Next, we tried the cauliflower pastor tacos which were very good. The vegan torta was delicious. And I loved the cauliflower pastor burrito bowl, which has gotten a lot of hype online. We will definitely be coming back here.

It's been a while since I've visited Guadalajara and it's impossible to find restaurants that will serve some of the city's signature dishes. Fortunately, one of my friends hit me up about this spot and after looking through the menu, we had to go out of our way.Don't expect the interior to be nice. It's a bit rundown, but it for sure matches the ambiance of walking into a local restaurant in Guadalajara. Service is super friendly. You are immediately served tortilla chips and two different hot sauces in test tubes. The oil based hot sauce was for sure a lot more spicier, while the paste one had a better balance between spicy and taste. For starters, we split an order of the Tuna Tostada ($15) (4 pcs). Can get a bit messy, but great appetizer to start off the meal.I ordered Molletes ($14), which is an open faced sandwich with beans and melted cheese served with pico de gallo salsa. Protein was an extra $5.50, so I got it with Chicken. I have been craving this meal after my trip and it has been satisfied, for now. Crazy that I could not find any other Mexican restaurants that serve this, but now I have a go to. I friend ordered the Carne en su jugo ($21), which is a traditional beef stew from Guadalajara, chuck steak slowly braised, garnished with beans, onions, bacon and salsa. If you ever been to Karne Garibaldi, which they're known for being the fastest serving restaurant in the world, then you will recognize this dish.Don't forget to check in to get 15% off on your bill!

They were soooo good especially the shrimp and I like the way they do they soft tacos. This is another place I will be visiting more often

cute restaurant near prospect park with a backyard outdoor seating area. the backyard is well decorated though not large. we ordered a few of the tacos as well as the chips with salsa. i was a bit confused when the "chips" came out as tostadas, you should really redo your menu to not mislead customers... the tacos were just ok. i ordered the birria, shrimp, and carne asada. the birria was good and the shrimp was the best. the carne asada was not great. the service was just ok, it seemed like they were understaffed with one waitress for the whole place. we waited an hour for the tacos to come out... which is honestly far too long to wait for tacos.

I just happened to see a NY Times Cooking post about the jicama salad that was inspired by their salad so I checked out their menu. I told my husband that we would be having Mexican for dinner. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! We didn't have a reservation so they had to find a place to put us and we were led through the restaurant to the back and at first I thought we were going to sit in the restaurant but we were seated in the outdoor space in the back! It was the cutest, coziest place! I ordered the jicama salad and my husband ordered the guacamole. Sooo good! Our servers were very nice but the service was a bit slow at first. We figured out that so many people ordered the guacamole so 3-4 orders came out at a time. The driiiiiinks! Hubby ordered the hibiscus margarita and I ordered the strawberry margarita. His was okay but I'm not a fan of hibiscus (sorrel, included). The strawberry was great but my second margarita was coconut!!! I took a sip and the HEAVENS. OPENED. UP!! Get here!!!

A cozy dim lit restaurant with a bar up front. We got seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. There's a QR code to scan for the menu. Started off with fried plantain with cream and cheese, those were great. We ordered variety of tacos and quesadillas. The tacos were nothing out the ordinary in my opinion but they were not bad. My partner enjoyed the beef tongue one as it was the juiciest. The mushroom quesadilla was a solid option as well. The barbacoa quesadilla was a bit dry and feel short of my expectations.

Small portions for the price, but the flavors were delicious. Make sure to check in on Yelp and get 15% off your check. We stopped in on a Saturday evening for lunch. We were told that the back garden was full so we sat in the front. Their tables are mostly high tops so if you want back support, this isn't the place for you. Service was slow! It took them a while to come over to get our drink order. Our food ended up coming out before our drinks. The watermelon margarita $15 was spicy which ruined the refreshing vibe I wanted. I wish it had specified that on the menu. I loved the plantain appetizer; I highly recommend this! The presentation of all of our dishes were beautiful. The salsa sampler was underwhelming and I would not recommend ordering. The jicama salad was spicy but good. I loved the shrimp taco and the chicarone quesadilla; these two were favorites! Overall, I don't think I'd come back since I wasn't super full when I left and seating wasn't comfortable.

Charsu and I came here for brunch. The restaurant was a bit hidden but we were able to find it. The restaurant has indoor seating, a front outdoor seating, and a patio. The front outdoor seating was taken so, we decided to check the indoor seating. The restaurant was very dark and since the weather was nice we went to sit in the patio. The patio and restaurant had a very laid back vibe. I wasn't fond of the patio stool seats. I would have preferred something with more back support. When I was seated, I told the waitress that I was waiting for a friend but when my friend did come, the waitress barely looked in our direction or came by to take our order. We had to call her and go up to her to get her attention. When my friend asked about the different types of drinks, the waitress didn't know what some of the drinks were made of. Nor did she seemed very interested in going to find out. She rarely checked in on us until it came to pay. She barely gave us time to get our cards out to pay.I got the Chilaquiles ($15) and Charsu got Huevos Rancheros ($15). It was a bit disappointing that the menu was very sparse especially for brunch. We wanted to order sides or apps but they didn't have any available on the brunch menu. The food took a bit to come out. The ingredients were colorful and fresh. The flavor was delicious and tasty. I do wish the portions were tad bigger or they had offered apps/sides cause I was still a bit peckish. The weather was nice that we wanted to linger and have a few more drinks but didn't want a full entree. The plating of dishes were superb and very Instagram worthy. I would come back if I am in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

Just amazing, the greatest vibe in the back and the best food. I love it so much. When I moved to NJ I was so sad to not be near it.
