We had a great experience from start to finish! The staff were very attentive and on top of things, whether that's refilling our cups or explaining the different cuts of beef and the banchon. We had the butcher's feast which came with four cuts of beef: American Wagyu, a dry aged steak, hanger steak, an absolutely amazing marinated galbi! All were cooked perfectly. The banchon is unlimited I believe and it all tasted fresh and clean. For the amount of food you get, including a little soft serve ice cream with caramel soy sauce topping at the end, it seemed like decent value. Overall I would recommend for beef lovers and those who enjoy or want to try Korean barbecue/ food.

I'll keep this tldr:the food is absolutely amazing, the service is just as great. they cook your food for you, explain what each cut and bonchon dish is, which is helpful if you haven't eaten kbbq before. BUT the cocktails were so bad. At like $22 each I better be drinking craft drinks! They tasted like a cocktail from a dive bar lol. Really odd considering the place is pretty nice and everything else was great!

It's shouldn't be shocking that an upscale k-barbecue has fantastic food, but it's not always a given. I can say that COTE is absolutely everything it claims to be. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the ambiance in the space feels upscale without feeling too decadent. When we went we ordered the Butcher's Feast. It's a great mix of banchan, stews, meats, stews, and other sides. Besides the meats themselves, standout to me is the perilla leaf kimchi, fantastic pairing with the marinated beef in a lettuce wrap. Price means I'm not able to have it in any regular rotation, but it feels worthy for any very special occasion. If you have an nyc restaurant bucket list this should be on it.

I want to go back.It was such a fun night.Every night of my "Are you sure" trip ended with dinners where the boys(or Jk) ate at.It was so much fun and I miss it so bad. This Korean steakhouse was very New York.A tad dark but tolerable...and thats coming from someone who likes dark.Theres a bar/lounge in the basement and dining on the main floor. The steaks were so fresh and presentation was stellar!!I loved everything.Oh and our server was amazing. Loved him.

There were four of us and one person who has shell fish allergies and does not like meat...was part of our group. We all got the Butcher's Special with the A5 Wagyu, even the person who does not like meat. Our table was loaded down with all sorts of food that was interesting to try. The waiter cooks 5 types of meat on the grill in front of you. Cote steak had a strange tasting marinade and everyone agreed that was the least favorite. The A5 Wagyu, which they do t skrimp on was very rich and fatty. I would have loved it as a kid but now.... It just seems too fatty. I think my favorite cut was the hanger. All in all the service was fantastic. The food was an adventure and I am glad to try it; but for me it is a one and done experience. Now there are other things on the menu and don't let my review stop you from going at least once!

My first time trying Cote was long awaited and I was super excited. It's super hard to get a reservation here! However, I felt the food did not live up to the hype. I tried their most popular butcher's feast. Out of all the meats, my favorite was the marinated short rib. I didn't think any of the meats really blew me away or were melt-in-your-mouth type of tender. They were just ok. Also, the quantities were pretty small. I can think of another kbbq place that I loved way more in the Bay Area. Oh well, at least I crossed this one off the list. I just probably wouldn't come back.

The steak at COTE is great but I think that's the only thing worth getting. The apps and accompaniments didn't hit - we were super excited for the steak tartare but it was pretty underwhelming.

The only Michelin star Korean steak house in America and for good reason. To start with the service, there's a coat check the second you walk in and someone to simply open the door for you. Then you walk down a dimly lit hallway leading to the beautiful open round bar floating in the middle of spacious room. The servers and staff are too notch in the city. Everyone on the floor is trained to know each cut of meat and what cooking it needs on the grill. They're extremely timely, prompt, and coordinated among eachother. There really is no second to spare. It's quite magical to watch once you flag it, because they move of swiftly and flawlessly that you wouldn't even notice they were there. They allow you to enjoy your meal optimally. They are very kind as well and accommodating. You feel like you could easily be friends with any of them. The food. Obviously amazing. We got the waygu omakase menu and it was phenomenal. It was very confusing what was included in this omakase as the menu makes not sense, we just had to ask the waiter but for very lost. We just went with it and trusted it would have everything we wanted (which it did). It started with a delicious caviar and oysters. The beef started very buttery and tender. Then moved to pieces with a little bit more chew. The last portion of meat was a perfectly cooked crispy outside and with a good bite. Everything was easy to eat. This portion of the meal had really lovely side dishes accompanying it. The meat ended with a yummy teriyaki cut. The kimchi was good and this little grape leaf side dish was surprisingly one of my favorite parts. It was sweet and tangy. We got an extra side of the paella rice dish which was absolutely delicious. We did our own wine pairing with the help of their amazing sommelier. She was very knowledgeable. The dessert was a fairly yummy caramel ice cream and tasty a fresh fruit. My only note is that they didn't have anything with chocolate and I really just wanted a decadent chocolate dessert.

Finally got a reservation here for 7pm on a sunday, but booked a few weeks out for 4 people. For food, we got the butcher's cut for 80$ pp which included 4 cuts of meat, bonchon, and stews. We also tried the tuna tartar as an app. The butcher's cut is for everyone at the table but since one of my friends was vegetarian they allowed us to have 3 orders. The meats were prepared for us and cooked well and all the stews and side dishes were great. It's a good amount of food for a good price. Service was a bit mixed. I loved the waitress that was attending our table. She was proactively making sure that our food and drinks were on the way. One of my friends had ordered a non alcoholic drink but they didn't have either of them in stock. They offered to give her a house non-alcoholic cocktail instead. The other male staff that serviced us was a but rude. He asked us to move dishes and drinks around to accomadate the meal, asking us to place certain things in certain places, and hand him the water to serve the table. This was surprising to me. The bill was also wrong and needed to be fixed as well. Overall, an okay experience with a good deal. Would recommend trying this place at least once!

When I saw that this place had a Michelin star I was a bit skeptical because it's KBBQ and how great can that be - how can you set yourself that far apart to achieve that? Well ... Cote absolutely delivered! What a wonderful experience. We chose to do the Butcher's Feast which is an amazing value. You get banchan, soups, scallion salad, egg, and then 4 cuts of meat which they will cook for you (to your preference). I was absolutely delighted by nearly all of the dishes! The okra was one of my favorites, but among the table the perilla leaves, scallion salad, egg soufflé, and soups were all receiving high praise. The kimchi is also very, very good. The service is outstanding; all of the staff were attentive, kind, and personable. I cannot wait to return to NYC and Cote, and bring others.
