We tried a bunch of small plates like Kani Salad, Chawanmushi, Hokkaido Scallop with Uni, Yakitori, and Tsukune--everything was packed with flavor! The wagyu negimaki is also must try. If you're into Japanese food, this spot is a must-try. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Came here to celebrate my friends 30th bday and after trying so many things I thought it was just ok? Smaller group intimate dinners are moreso recommended rather than big group since most items here are small bites so don't expect to be fullThey were accommodating for our party of 11 and great if you want a place where you can decorate as you please ish. It was still a good experience and at least now I know what to order and not :)Drinks: -Maracuya 4/5: loved the emphasis of passionfruit flavors -Pearry 3/5: just taste like sparkling water..Apps:-toro uni caviar 5/5: for someone that doesn't like uni, this was abs delicious and mouth watering-monk fish karage 3.5/5: something diff but wasn't that special - tuna tataki 4/5: loved the truffle flavors here - Spanish octopus 4/5: it was good but not that special either Entrees:-Salmon rice 2/5: this was nothing special and wouldn't reco trying. The salmon was quite dry too -Eel over rice 5/5: prob my fave of the night. The eel was great - half chicken/ tori kuwayaki 2/5: could've been better. It was a bit dryNot mentioning the others from last review since they still stand

Food 8/10Almost everything was solid. I particularly enjoyed the salmon donburi rice, it was a lot more filling than I expected, and they definitely did not skimp on the salmon. The uni toro caviar may sound gimmicky, but honestly the caviar was really smooth and obviously, as I am a huge fan of uni, I really enjoyed each bite. The ebit tartare was beautifully plated and tender as well. The yakitori was unfortunately the only piece I didn't like, as it was too salty. Atmosphere 5/10Way too loud inside to have a conversation, wish they could just turn down the music. Very dimly lit interior, a long corridor-style restaurant. Everything appeared very sleek and modern, Service 8/10Enjoyable service, nothing to complain about.

My best friend took me to Class on 38th for my birthday, and it was a great experience. The vibes were romantic, but not too uptight. The service was excellent and attentive - it was such a great dinner. The cocktails were well balanced, and had a nice twist to them. As for the appetizers and entrees, most of them were hits but I felt like some of them were just okay. We got the oysters and the caviar-uni on toast, which were both fresh and had great flavor. Definitely a special treat. For entrees, we got the congee with pork belly, salmon bowl, chicken, and wagyu sandwiches. I felt like these were decent, but something I could definitely make at home. Great ingredients and execution, could just have used some more pizzazz. All in all, Class on 38th is a special (albeit, expensive) treat and a great experience.

Chill restaurant with intimate seating in the back. Wasn't super busy when I dined in on a Tuesday. Great variety of food albeit things did add up at the end expect to spend $80-100 here, but I thoroughly enjoyed chill environment where we weren't rushed out due to incoming parties.

Some bites were good. Some bites were a bit of a stretch. You get a sense of an idea on what the restaurant is trying to achieve but a handful of dishes really misses the mark. Was expecting more with something more creative. Still good though. Just not great.

My bestie took me here tonight for my birthday and I am pretty amazed! Staff were friendly and nice and it was a cozy ambience. We ordered the snow crab chawanmushi, yakitori, toro uni caviar (my fave!), braised pork belly, and the truffle mushroom kama (another fave!). Our drinks were pretty good too! Overall, very nice experience and will come again to try out the rest of the menu!

Mostly came for drinks and was impressed by the elegant ambience and creative menu options! Really loved the Morir Soñando - tasted like an elevated orange creamsicle in the best way. I do think this place is on the pricey side though

Came here for their HH which is everyday until 6:30pm! We took advantage of their small plates and cocktails for $12.[Food] Fried monkfish karage (this was very good w/ the dipping sauce), oysters w/ cavier on top (fresh & clean), chicken wings, chicken meatballs (japanese sweet mayo was delish w/ this), unagi chawanmushi (egg custard was nice and hot! Good texture and flavor, sauce was on the sweeter side for my palette) - Tapas were decently sized.[Drinks] Shiso High (not too sweet and refreshing!), and the GTS (liked this one better; wasn't as sour as I had initially feared)[Service] We ordered cocktails right away, then food like 15 mins later. The food somehow came out first and quickly so we had to ask about our drinks, which came out by the time we were finished with 2 of the small plates already. Other than this, staff were very friendly and attentive. At exactly 90 mins into our reservation, we were kindly reminded that our time was up and was asked to leave. I totally understand that there are other reservations, but we were definitely being rushed out, which isn't a great feeling.[Ambiance] The restaurant is longgg; there was plenty of seating in the main dining area - we were seated in the back. Felt like we had a private VIP section in the back all to ourselves (there's 2 tables in this back private area). [Overall Rating = 4.5] I would recommend this spot for a date night or night out with friends! Food and drinks were overall delicious and it wasn't too loud (at least in the back), so friends and I were able to have a proper catch up :)
