5 Stars for a GREAT Australian breakfast spot with dishes you'll be craving for months afterwards!I fell in love with Citizens when I was recently in NY and staying in Chelsea. I saw that it was Australian and was instantly in because Ausies are known for their fantastic coffee and breakfast shops. It was crowded, so we sat along a rail at the windows. Gwynneth helped us get settled in and took our orders. I got the Big brekkie, consisting of two poached eggs, toast, bacon, chicken sausage, smashed avo, chorizo baked beans, and hashbrowns. Yes, there were healthier options, no I did not regret this. My vegetarian husband went with the veggie breakfast burrito. It was a great amount of food (A LOT) and the coffee was on point. I'd definitely visit again (almost did that the next day!).

What a lovely day to catch up with a friend in the city and have some lunch. Small location, but cozy. The seating situation wasn't my favorite though. You literally are elbow to elbow with the next table. A bit loud. A bit of everything going on around you due to the size. However, the staff are very nice and friendly.Their menu doesn't have many options which can be inconvenient for someone that wants more than just a salad or breakfast. I had ordered a wellness salad which was good, but a bit bland. Hardly no seasoning. Had to ask for some olive oil and salt which should have been provided from the start. As a pescatarian and vegetarian there were no options for me. The closest option to a protein was the salmon they have on the menu, but raw. They only have chicken from what I recall. My friend's classic breakfast looked good. I did try some of her hash browns which tasted really good. I think this place has a lot of potential, but they will need to add more to their menu. For instance, offer cooked salmon instead of raw salmon. Not everyone eats raw salmon. This is a cute spot to catch up with friends and grab something either to eat or drink. Pricing is moderate.I will go back again.

Great for the low key but still want a cute spot for brunch. This was made for catching up with someone you haven't seen in a while since it doesn't get too loud but the energy is still high. Pro tip! A sneaky really good cup of coffee, so don't sleep on it!

One the best breakfast meals I've had in a while! So glad I came across Citizens of Chelsea upon my Yelp search for breakfast/brunch spots and today's meal was perfect. I arrived just as they opened at 7am and was greeted warmly and promptly by the staff. I ordered a latte with oat milk and the bbq pulled pork Benny with a side of hash brown potatoes. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful while the eggs were perfectly poached. The greens had a nice light dressing? Vinaigrette? Whatever it was, it was delicious too. But the real star was the fluffy orange juice and the brekkie sauce. I just wanted to take a bottle of that sauce home with me! If I'm ever in NY again, I will definitely come back to Citizens of Chelsea!

A good casual, but still very aesthetically cute place to host a birthday brunch with a group of friends. We all really liked our food. I got the chorizo burrito which came with like a spicy mayo sauce, which was a nice touch to it. They also have mimosa flights which are cool too if you're into that. Overall, I would return the staff is really friendly and accommodating races are around $15-$20 per meal.

This cafe is always packed whenever I come by especially on the weekends so make sure you snag your reservation asap! But there is a reason why it's packed - the vibes are awesome and the brunch is delicious! I started off with delicious drinks! I had to try the fluffy cocktails because they're made of fresh pressed juice! I tried the Whipped Paloma and the Golden Hour and they were so delicious, fresh and beautifully presented! I also really liked the foam on the topOnto the food: I had to get a stack of pancakes so I ordered the Blueberry and Maple ones! It was super fluffy and such a big portion so it's great to share! The Big Breakie is a classic breakfast dish and I love how it had a bit of everything - so if you're indecisive, this is your dish! And finally, the most surprisingly delicious dish to me was the Harissa Chicken Salad! I really loved that the chicken was finely chopped along with the salad so it was warm and I appreciated how the chicken was evenly distributed into the salad instead of just plopped on top! Thank you to the amazing staff at the cafe for their quick service and for giving great drink and food recs!

Citizens of Chelsea is fantastic any day of the week! Its great Chelsea location gives people a delightful slice of Australia with a perfect ambiance, dynamic menu, and really great service. This Chelsea staple is securely on my list of go to spots. Some highlights of this visit were the BBQ Pulled Pork Benny, fluffy cocktails, and the Banana and Butterscotch Pancakes! This place is popular for a reason, and I will be returning here soon!
