I've been blessed to have experienced Chrissy's Pizza back when the owner was baking out of his standard apartment oven in Brooklyn. My first apartment pie was thin, crispy and juicy as advertised. Juicy in a sense that he finished the pizza with olive oil, and thin crispy as in the roof of my mouth suffered minute damage after 3 slices. Happy to report that the brick and mortar pizzas come out just as thin, crispy and juicy, faster than before. Now open 12p til 10p or sold out, the line length def varies with the day of the week or forecast. On a frigid Wednesday around 3p, there was a line of maybe 4 parties on arrival but it moves fast. My one visit to the Nassau Ave location turned into two visits on the same day cuz I drove by and there was no line after the sun went down. I've seen some one star reviews addressing the "rules" of the joint. They're explicitly posted in a @chrissys.pizza instagram story highlight (as of 11/16/24 and still posted today 2/3/25) however, I don't think they're written anywhere inside of the establishment (at least, I cannot recall if they are). It's Brooklyn, space is hard to come by. If you need to enjoy your pie jammed elbow to elbow next to other patrons, lighten up a little and eat the darn pizza. The playlist is indeed bumpin'. If you manage to dine in and finish a whole pie by yourself, there's a new clean plate (tray) club polaroid wall with a space for your photo.

One of my favorite pizzas in NYC (and thus the world). Chrissy's was once a popup out of the owner's Bushwick apartment, followed by a late night spreakeasy situation in the East Village. Owner Chris Hansell (aka Chrissy) now has his own shop in Greenpoint, which deserves every bit of hype it's getting. I arrived at 1:30pm, 30 minutes before opening, to find about 15 people in line. Once open, the line moved quickly. The shop is small with no seating, but they do have limited counter/standing room if you want to dine in. Whole pies only; no slices. They do allow half/half pies though, if you want to try two varieties and just get one pie. I came here with a friend and easily demolished a whole pie (4 slices each). I usually order my pizzas "well done, extra sauce" which is the default here. We opted for half Regular and half Fresh Garlic and Jalapeño, which was a weekly special. The crust was crispy but foldable, the cheese melted into the ample spread of fresh tomato sauce, and the finish of olive oil and grated parm really took it to the next level. Perfect 10/10.

Chrissy's opens at 2pm and since it's known to have a line, we started standing in line roughly 15 minutes before. Given how cold it was and it was MLK day, we were the second group in line. Closer to open, the line grew significantly longer. Once we got in, we had the option to eat in or take out. We chose to eat in but the place is SMALL so we were all jam packed in there. It honestly felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable. The pizza came out in roughly 15 minutes or so. Note you can only order a full pie and there are 8 slices. I was there with 3 other people and 2 slices per person felt sufficient if you're not too hungry. I really enjoyed the pie itself. The pepperoni cups themselves had a nice thickness. The crust was baked to perfection and crisp and not oily at all which was lovely. The pizza tasted super hot and fresh. Was it the best pizza ever? Not sure but it's definitely good and worth trying.

Did my boyfriend ask me to join him to pick up the pizza because he thought there might be a limit to one pie per person?!?! Or does he just enjoy my company? There were three of us, it was raining but we were determined to make it to Chrissy's Greenpoint location finally! We had been to the pop up at Superiority Burger and we had a "ratatouille" moment, no there were no rats....but we were in awe of the first pizza bite. We selected a "regular", the special that had some spicy "Calabrian Peppers" pizza and a pepperoni. We ordered the pizzas. We stood outside in the drizzle. The place had some people sitting inside. Warning: you can only order full pies...and if you're planning on eating the whole pie in house then DON'T ORDER THE BOX. I warned you ok. It took about 20 minutes and then we were on our way back home to enjoy. Absolute perfection! Wow! Loved every bite. Loved the classic pizza. The special had that kick in the pants. The boys enjoyed the pepperoni. I know Chris (owner) did his research in pizza. It's not enough that he's the lead singer of the punk band "WARTHOG" but during quarantine he became the pizza specialist. And thank goodness he did. He seemed to know all the right people in the business. And perfected the product. And a few years later, we can take it home with us to enjoy. Can not wait to continue in devouring this pizza for years to come!

Lined up at Chrissy's on an absolutely frigid holiday Monday. Showed up about 15min before opening and was second in line. Line definitely started picking up like crazy. They were a few minutes late to open, but after they did and we placed our order, we got it around 2:20p (apx 15min).The space is small, but if you're there early, you can technically eat inside. I'd say it could squeeze about 3 parties of 3-4 inside. Otherwise your best bet is just takeout.Ok now to the point of the review, the pizza. It was great. The sauce, cheese, and crust were married beautifully together. The pepperoni was also very good. Coming straight out of the oven, it better be. I think what impressed me the most was the crust. Absolutely no flapping. Super paper thin as well. Was it worth $34/pie and waiting in line for? Maybe if you show up early, but I don't think I'd be willing to wait for really more than 30min for this. I'd definitely come back though, but maybe when the hype dies down a bit!

Finally stopped by to try this place on a Friday night and was extremely pleased. It's a bit small inside and there was a decent line so had to wait about 15 minutes to order and another 20 to receive our order. The pizza was worth the wait. Flavors are so fresh and powerful and the crust was a perfect level of crispy. Only downside was there wasn't a great option on where to eat it. We were 4 people and so didn't want to eat inside in the limited space they had as we'd take up a bit too much room. We noticed that Turkeys Nest wasn't far away and so hopped in a car and enjoyed their pepperoni and special pies over some beers. A perfect Friday night.

Went to Chrissy's with a group of 6 people and got 2 pies - which was a good amount of food for that size group. They only offer full pies and nothing by the slice. There was no line at the place so we ordered right away, and then waited outside while they prepared the food. While there was no line to order, it was about 20 mins outside waiting for the pizzas to get ready. There's limited space inside the restaurant so we took the pizza to a nearby park bench.I really liked the pizza! We ordered their regular cheese and a pepperoni. Sauce is important to me in a pizza and it was flavorful in these pizzas. Crust had a great crunch. It's definitely a good option if you're in the green point area!

Is Chrissy's worth the long line you will see on Nassau Avenue? ABSOLUTELY.I waited 1 hr 20 mins and had no regrets upon first bite. My order was a special white pie with Mozzarella, round dabs of Ricotta, black pepper, and crushed Calabrian chilies, which gave it a delicious spice without being overwhelming. The pizza dough was crispy and thin - a perfect New York slice. You can only order pies at the moment. Even if you have a favorite spot go check out Chrissy's for their delicious take on Pizza.

After selling pies out of his apartment and then a short time from the old Superiority Burger space, which both always sold out immediately, and then doing a late night residency at the new Superiority Burger, Chrissy has finally opened his own storefront.Theoretically it should be easier to get a pie now, but there will be long lines, and they only sell full pies, no slices. It really is some of the best pizza in existence, so it is definitely worth the trip and the wait. Get a classic ($30) or pepperoni ($34) and whatever the special pie is ($36). It's a small spot with just room for a few people to eat standing up at counter space, so you'll probably take a pie to go to McCarren or McGolrick.Open from 2-10pm, Thursday-Monday.

Stopped in on a Saturday, hoping the wait wouldn't be long cause of the inclement weather. I guess I got lucky. In and out in 30 minutes, with my plain cheese pie. Between me and 2 others, we demolished the whole inside my vehicle. Wonderful classic flavor, and a crispness like no other. Would have again if in the area. Chill staff, too.
